When my daughter and I needed help the most, Adopt A Family was there for us. I expected some judgement and disrespect, but what I found there was just the opposite. I was always treated with great respect and understanding. I attended some of their programming which imparted some truly inspirational information. Because of Adopt A Family, we were able to remain stable in our apartment and we received gifts during the holiday season that we otherwise could not have afforded. It was special to have flowers delivered on Mother's Day! Our financial situation has improved! I look forward to giving back to this wonderful place! They made me feel cared for and safe when I needed it the most.

Being intimately familiar with the work that this nonprofit does to serve the needs of marginalized communities in Marin County, I can honestly say that five stars is simply not enough. Aside from providing critical emergency services to families on the verge of becoming homeless, AAF has an outstanding holiday program, offers workshops and guidance to better equip clients with the tools necessary for getting ahead, and works collaboratively with other local NGOs and government organizations to coordinate resources and streamline assistance for families in need. The staff is compassionate and friendly and works hard to understand where their clients are coming from. While so many other nonprofits are mired in mountains of bureaucratic red tape that can often leave clients feeling alienated and afraid, the amazing staff at AAF create a warm and safe space for families to ask for, and receive, the help they need. This organization is truly one of a kind.
