When my daughter and I needed help the most, Adopt A Family was there for us. I expected some judgement and disrespect, but what I found there was just the opposite. I was always treated with great respect and understanding. I attended some of their programming which imparted some truly inspirational information. Because of Adopt A Family, we were able to remain stable in our apartment and we received gifts during the holiday season that we otherwise could not have afforded. It was special to have flowers delivered on Mother's Day! Our financial situation has improved! I look forward to giving back to this wonderful place! They made me feel cared for and safe when I needed it the most.
I volunteered with Adopt a Family during the holiday program. I had the pleasure of engaging with the staff, clients, volunteers and donors. The staff was very caring and responsive to the clients needs. They were quick to address the unique needs of each client while simultaneously showing their gratitude and appreciation to all of the donors and volunteers. Interacting with the clients was a very humbling and rewarding experience. I heard stories from families about how grateful they were to the organizarion, donors and volunteers for their work and how these acts of kindness to their family meant more to them then they could express. Through their work, Adopt A Family was able to lift some of the burdens faced by the families during the holiday season. The parents were brought to tears knowing that they would be able to provide a special holiday for their kids while they were facing difficult times. Adopt A Family is a great organization who does wonderful work for the community.
I had the chance to watch very closely how Adopt A Family of Marin work. If I had to summarize it in one word: "caring". They care for the families that reach out for help, and they go the extra mile to provide that help. I had the opportunity to meet some of the families as well, and see first hand the level of appreciation they have for Adopt A Family, and how they were able to literally turn their lives around. The staff is amazing, and the work they do admirable. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. Keep up the great work!
Adopt A Family of Marin provides hands-on financial assistance and counseling to families in need in Marin County with the goal of preventing homelessness. Why is Adopt A Family special? Every person who walks through the door is treated with respect and compassion. It's like no other nonprofit I have been involved with -- a very small agency that has a direct positive impact on multitudes of families and individuals in our community. I was most moved when I had the opportunity to deliver flowers to some of the agency's clients on Mother's Day. Many of the mothers I met were brought to tears by the unexpected gesture (as was I by the experience!). A wonderful agency.
Adopt A Family of Marin's executive director Pam Meyer and her staff do an extraordinary job all year round in helping prevent homelessness in Marin County. They provide much needed assistance to families with short term needs and also education to improve the lives of many in the long term. Such a blessing to have such a wonderful, caring organization in our County!
As a volunteer and a donor, I have been very impressed with Adopt a Family and how it fulfills its mission. Pam Meyers and her staff are top notch professionals and care deeply about the families they help. I strongly believe in this cause and I plan on becoming even more involved with this great organization in the coming years.
I love Adopt a Family. They are creative in helping families help themselves, they are kind and they are effective. Everyone is passionate about their work in helping families. Their Holiday program where you can adopt a family for Christmas is fun, rewarding and a great way to engage the entire family in helping our neighbors.
I have been so impressed as a donor and a volunteer with the level of professionalism coupled with care and wisdom that I have found at Adopt a Family of Marin. Pam Meyer and her staff give me a very high level of confidence that the money that I donate to the organization is going to be used wisely and make a lasting impact on families lifting them out of poverty and homelessness to self sufficiency.
I have been working with Adopt A Family of Marin for about four years in a number of ways as a volunteer and donor. I have especially enjoyed helping out with the agency's Christmas family gift program. I know the services this agency provides to struggling families to help prevent homelessness in our county makes a big difference to the families and to our local communities. Also, their Project Inspiration program offers life sustainability tools and resources for these families to help build personal strength and goals. This is a Great non-profit! Patti
I have been helping this organization for 3 years by fundraising, putting together Mother's Day baskets and adopting a family at Christmas. The thank you's that I receive from the families are heartwarming.
This year I have recruited some other individuals and businesses to adopt families.
I truly believe this group saves a lot of families from homelessness and gives them hope to keep their heads up and thrive.
The staff works on a tight budget to help families in Marin and I am very supportive of their efforts.
Wonderful organization, that makes such a difference in the lives of many families in Marin..Adopt A Family is well run, keeps costs down, and uses their money and volunteers effectively, for positive results.
Because of Adopt A Family, there are fewer homeless families in Marin County.
Pam and her intelligent staff at Adopt A Family of Marin are incredibly compassionate towards the clients that come to AAF for support. From listening, to educating, to offering financial support, AAF provides a very important and valuable service to the Marin Community.
I became involved with Adopt A Family several years ago through the Ross Valley Woman's League. AAF has served hundreds of families each year helping them stay in their homes--critical to the health, education and well being of the children in the home. This fundamental support is delivered with compassion and professionalism.
