I am both a volunteer and client served at 55 KIP CENTER. The Staff is extremely professional yet caring and compassionate -- sensitive to individual needs. For the third consecutive year, the Center has earned State accreditation. That makes us all proud!
For many the Center is an extended family.
The Mission at 55 KIP is "KEEPING SENIORS AGELESS". The diversity, of programs and activities offered, exercise, dance, art, current events discussion groups and many others, are conducive to the mission. For many, the Center is an extended family. I am proud and grateful for the opportunity to
be associated with a wonderful place.
I have been a volunteer (Art Teacher) here at Kip for just over 7 years. While working here at KIP I have been granted many honors including Art and volunteer hour awards. At KIP I have been granted the honor of working with people from all over the spectrum of age ranges and backgrounds. KIP is a very diversified community of people ranging from the ages of 40+ focusing on adult activities.
I have many stories from working here at KIP, the best of which relates to a student who had no confidence in herself. While working with her for the past 7 years, I have gotten her to come out of her skin, no thanks to the great home she has found at KIP. And thanks to the joint efforts we have made, a day never goes by without seeing a smile on her face.
But that is true with all things here at KIP, we are more then just a simple senior activity center we are a true community. We know more than each others face, we know each others names and stories. KIP boasts about keeping "seniors ageless" but what they don't boast about is how they are here for more then just an activity. MOST CENTERS in the area are just for business or to make a quick buck, but here at KIP there is so much more... it is a home.
Love the Kip Center! My 92 year old mom is an active senior, and spends countless hours playing bridge, taking body strengthening classes, taking trips to plays in NYC and casinos in Atlantic City and PA, and a wonderful 4 day trip to Wildwood every year. How lucky am I to accompany her and her Kip friends on the Wildwood trip--we have a blast, going on a boat ride, going to a Senior Banquet with other senior organizations from throughout the state etc. They are a wonderful group, with a full range of activities to keep our seniors "young" in body and spirit. They are even offering classes to younger seniors in the evenings such as Zumba classes! Can't say enough about the loving environment they provide for our seniors, and that is reflective of the very caring Director, Peggy and her staff. It's a great place to volunteer and an even better place to spend time with friends old and new.
