I've been volunteering at the Yellow Ribbon Fund for a little over a year and have had nothing but great experiences with the organization. The events the group sponsors, from cookouts in the courtyard to bringing in live nationally known musical guests, are clearly the highlight of the weeks for many residents at Walter Reed. Meet and greets provide activities, speakers and just some needed respite from the daily routines. The families clearly appreciate having great family-friendly entertainment right on the premises. I've been so impressed with all the volunteers I have met, and especially so with the staff of this organization.

I have been volunteering with the YRF for about 1 1/2 years now, and I can say only great things about the organization. The work that we have done at Walter Reed is so special. I have seen how it is received by the injured soldiers and see what an impact it makes on their families. And I can say that it has done just as much for me. The opportunity that I have had to interact with and support our soldiers is an experience I will never forget. I hope to continue with the YRF for many more years to come.

It is such a great feeling being about to give just a few hours of fun to our veterans. I have helped with numerous social functions for the Yellow Ribbon Fund and it has been worth every minute paying it forward. After 20 yrs in the Navy and receiving such great care, it is impossible for me not to pay it back. Thank you to the Yellow Ribbon fund for making that possible.

I am so proud to volunteer for the Yellow Ribbon Fund. The organization is doing such important, life-changing work. I can't help but feel patriotic when I attend events for our wounded servicemembers. In recovery, our veterans want and need to escape the clinical setting and enjoy a quiet conversation. A nice meal, a friendly smile, a break from rehab. It is such a simple idea, but it makes a world of difference.

I worked with this TREMENDOUS foundation to coordinate a tour for wounded soldiers/their family members at the Hershey Plant I work at. The coordination this group made for this trip was excellent and I was proud to work with them for an amazing tour for both them, as well as our plant. On their visit to Hershey, our copmany provided the tour of the world's largest chocolate factory, a buffet lunch where employees from across our company who have military experienced talked, provided them a tour of the "Hershey Story" museum, and then lastly sent them back with close to 500 pounds of chocolate, including custom-made Hershey Kisses with camoflauge foil wrappers (instead of silver) and "thank you" flags sticking out of them (instead of saying "Kisses"). The people that work at the foundation are tremendous people that pour their heart and soul into making the wounded soldiers (and their families) feel a lot more comfortable. It sounds like they organize a lot of great ways to entertain the soldiers and make them feel much appreciated, which reflects the opinion of every American. This organization pays a tremendous "thank you" to these true heroes.
