YRF is an outstanding nonprofit that is totally focused on supporting our veterans and their families. I am proud to have been an Ambassador with YRF for many years. "Thanks" to all who have supported us in our never ending quest to support our fellow veterans.
Great opportunity to help fellow veterans and their families in a variety of ways.
Yellow Ribbon Fund- I cannot thank you enough!
Last year my husband was in-patient at The Walter Reed Naval Hospital Bethesda. It was such a hard time for us especially our 4 year old son because there was not much activity to distract us from the "feeling of being in a hospital".Until Yellow Ribbon Fund came along and changed everything. They were so kind to offer free 90 minute hot stone massages and Manicures and Pedicures for spouses/caregivers at a time when I needed it most. These were my most precious moments because I got to take time off being a caregiver and mom and just enjoy a peaceful, relaxing massage.
Yellow Ribbon Fund also gave us tickets to watch baseball games and yes! this was just the perfect distraction my husband and my son needed.
To crown it all, my husband recently got medically retired from The Marine Corps after serving for 11 years and he didn't know the next step but Yellow Ribbon Fund stepped in to give us a sense of direction during the tough transition, they gave us an opportunity to go back to school. We both recieved full scholarships to attend Colorado Tech University and now we are studying, enjoying learning new things together each day and enjoying our transition.
Thank you Yellow Ribbon Fund for being their for us during tough times, thank you for taking care of my family and giving us the tools to suceed in life. You have been such a gift for us and we shall forever be greatful.
Yrf is an awesome organization! The team is supportive to wounded warriors and their families needs. Our family enjoys having them as a part of our extended family.
There are many great charities out there helping wounded veterans; however, few of them have the personal and daily interaction with both the veteran (or service member) and their families quite like Yellow Ribbon Fund. The things they do might not always be sexy to post on Facebook, but they are the things that matter most. They are, what I tell everybody, an "Expert Gap Filler". I have met no organization that does it better yet!
Being able to attend these meetings and express myself and get helpful advice and information on resources that can be beneficial to me & having guest speakers is amazing! I love the fact that there are evening gatherings now because it makes attending much more convenient!
I volunteer my time to organize a golf outing in Rochester Hills, MI with this great organization because I know they are using the dollars we raise wisely and taking care of my fellow brothers in arms and their family. I've seen the impact of the work every year and know this organization will continue to have an impact for many years to come. Mike St. John
Yellow Ribbon Fund has showed the Wounded Warrior community that they care about every single Veteran they connect with. Proving Mentorship was one of the biggest advantages for me, having someone to talk and be a sounding board. Bob Talbot has nurtured and given me a better perspective on life. Thank you for all you do and YRF holds a special place in my heart.
Sgt/ USMC Ret.
The YRF ministered to me & other mothers of caregivers back in May 2015! It was a Caregivers Retreat, a much needed vacation & fellowship with like women who unselfishly offer their services day in and day out.
I'm a caregiver at Walter Reed, and the programs developed for us in and around Bethesda are soul saving. Generally the focus is on the service member, so for YRF to care about us directly, by providing us with opportunities to get away from the hospital setting while fostering friendships and camaraderie is...supportive and deeply meaningful...Thank you!
The Yellow Ribbon Fund is beyond what words can describe! The kindness, gratitude, generosity, and sincerity their staff conveys makes me speechless. I can't thank them enough from the bottom of my heart. They are one of the most generous organizations I know. If anyone deserves recognition, its the YRF. The least I could do is thank you publicly for your dedication. There truly seems to be no limits to their generosity. The YRF has helped me when I needed it the most. Your commitment to military families, caregivers, etc. inspires me to want to make a difference not only in myself but for others. You have no idea what it means to simply not forget about the caregivers and truly take the time to be kind and look after our needs. I will forever be grateful for the YRF and you have provided me an experience and memories that I will have the rest of my life (Caregiver Retreat participant).
Yellow Ribbon Fund INC is a wonderful organization. When my son was injured in Afghanistan and lost both of his leg and had many other injuries they stepped in to offer their support to our entire family. They provided transportation, hotel stays and meals. They were also wonderful at providing activities that helped relieve some of the stress for me as a caregiver. Whenever there was a need YRF would either help or find someone who could provide for our family. I will be forever grateful to this amazing group.
Yellow Ribbon Fund has greatly helped me as a caregiver of my son, a wounded airman. Caregiving can be an isolating and exhausting task. However, it is a task I gladly perform not out of duty but out of great love. Yellow ribbon Fund recognizes the sacrifices of caregivers like me. Their retreats and other resource more than meet our need of care and respite from our very daunting life. At these fully paid times away, I have rested, laughed, Found out about resources and materials to better care for my son and my family, and made friendships that will last a lifetime.
My husband has been battling many illnesses since he has been back from downrange. I have finally found some courage, time, and group members I can share positive and negative daily accomplishments and issues with.
Thank you YRF
I have never met or come across an organization quite like this one before! It was hard to watch my husband decline while he was active duty and I thought the way we were being treated was going to continue into the years after he got out...where no one listened to us, I was just the spouse, and his needs weren't important enough. How wrong I was when I learned about YRF!!!!! I wish I had known about them sooner! They have helped change our lifestyle and our lives in amazing ways! They always great you with a smile when you show up for an event and they always ask how things are going. If all the other organizations meant to help and assist disabled veterans could take a lesson from YRF, caring for disabled veterans would be so much easier! This group or AWESOME people really do care about the whole family! As the caregiver, I must say that it's so nice to have an organization that's willing to help me get a break from time to time.
YRF is an amazing non-profit program that cater to the needs of caregivers by providing them with an outlet to unwind from the everyday pressure of caring for our veterans. Through this program I have met some amazing individuals who shares and understands the challenges of being a caregiver. We have bonded and so have our children.
YRF, is a caring non profit that helps to heal the Caregiver from the everyday stress of being a caregiver. Not knowing what to expect when we first got back to MD, YRF stepped right in to assist us in the journey. They care about you even after you leave and follow you through the course of your treatment at home, because they know that is where the real journey for a Caregiver begins! God Bless Yellow Ribbon Fund for all they do for our service members and their families!
WONDERFUL group of people. They are one of the few groups that really care about the spouse and children of the wounded member. They made me feel like family the minute I met them. It is also a great resource to meet other care givers and gain wisdom and friendship. I cannot say enough good things about them!
YRF has helped me and my family tremendously. Not only do they allow caregivers a chance to bond with other care givers but the also help families have bonding time outside if the norm. To me having a group of people who know what you are going through to support you means and is worth more then having all the money in the world with no happiness
Out of the multiple non - profit organizations designed to assist disabled veterans and their families, this is the ONLY organization that has have ever offered support. They have consistently and genuinely reached out to me and my family to offer opportunities to attend support and recreational events. They are organized and professional yet make you feel truly special. We are thankful for everything they have done for us. We know how hard they work and although we dont see ourselves as "special", we have never felt so appreciated
