My son has been a part of the program for 7 years. In that time he has developed a healthy sense of responsibility, citizenship, leadership and character. He has grown into a man that knows no limits to what he can accomplish. There are several things I as a parent, love about this program. The experiences he has had are beyond belief. Everything from volunteering in the community to cruising on a front line aircraft carrier in the Pacific to training with some of the military's finest special operations personnel on an active military base and the list goes on. In addition he has been exposed to other young adults with very high aspirations as well as a group of great adult volunteers that serve as mentors constantly guiding, pushing and motivating him. All in all I can't imagine a better youth program to get your child a head start in life.
If you have time to watch their video, you will get to see what my son has been doing, and will get to do someday in this program. It's amazing how this Sea Cadet turned my son into a great individual! My shy and introverted son has finally came out of his shell. He learned how to make a right decision, becoming a responsible person and he is now becoming more independent. Still making sure that his academic grades is the top priority. But then, seeing him enjoying time in Sea Cadet is priceless! Getting into Color Guard is the greatest experience for him. Thanks you Naval Sea Cadet. I'm a proud parent of this awesome kid!
I worked with the Sea Cadets for 3 years, as Administration Officer. The volunteer work of keeping track of all papers for each cadet was a challenge, but working with the cadets was fun. Teaching them the responsibility of paper work being completed properly and neatly was interesting. The cadets were always willing to do what they were told to do. This is the best offer for children to learn responsibility and pride.
USNSCC/USNLCC is an amazing youth program. I have two sons in the program who started out as Leaguers. I have seen them grow in confidence and self reliance. It has helped shape their characters with a sense of purpose, commitment, honor and integrity. The training opportunities that are offered are incredible. I am also serving in the unit as an auxiliary instructor and I have valued the opportunity to work with all of these young people and amazing adults. It's an amazing program all around!
Best youth program in the nation! It provides incredible opportunities for teens, and experiences that last a lifetime.
My 12 year old son joined the USNSCC this past summer and it has been the best experience for him. I am so impressed with the program and the dedicated people who run it who make this opportunity possible for our youth. My son has found his path.
I came into the program when I was 16 years old. By the time I turned 18, I had expanded my knowledge to be great leader to the youth and to this country. I only made it to E-3 Seamen but with thst rank, now I can get automatic advancement in the military if I choose to join. Learning not just leadership, but learming how be strong and brave and courageous.
With 4 training under my belt, I am ready what the military has to offer, and even the world if I choose civilian life instead.
This is an excellent program fkr both males and females. Oorah to the Sea Cadets!
Best program for the next generation of leaders and decision makers. Watched my son progress and grow with a deeper understanding of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Go Sea Cadets.
My son has been a cadet for almost a year now and he is loving it!! I was just recently cleared to be an Adult Leader and I'll be attending my second drill this weekend!! Great leaders & a great group of kids with a TON of potential!! It's going to be AWESOME to watch them grow & see all the things they'll be able to accomplish because of what is offered by the USNSCC/USNLCC!! BRAVO ZULU COAST GUARD GROUP PORTLAND DIVISION (Portland, ME)
I have been a Cadet since I was 10 years old, now approaching 18. I am a Chief Petty Officer responsible for approximately 50 Cadets ranging in age from 10-17. My job in short is to help each of them exceed their "limits" while helping them reach their potential as future leaders.
As I prepare to graduate the program, I can't help but be completely amazed at the opportunities I've been given as a result of the effort I put in. I've lived a lifetime in just 8 years and the only thing I would trade it for would be the opportunity to do it again!
The education, the friendships, and the experiences have prepared me for the next chapter of my life as I move on. And I can not wait to go after my future goals!
If you are considering a youth leadership development program, I guarantee you that you will not find a better one than the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
Expand Your Limits!
Chief Petty Officer Blaine Bradley
The USNSCC taught me many life lessons, from hard work pays off to how to build and foster relationships. It motivate me to continue my service in the Armed Forces. I am a former CPO in the Sea Cadets. Currently, I am a 19 year Army Veteran serving as a Warrant Officer and Blackhawk pilot with 5 combat tours.
The USNSCC teaches many things, but the most important thing I noticed with my son is confidence!
Sea Cadets inspires young people to do hard things and succeed! During the almost eleven years I've volunteered with Sea Cadets, I've seen shy, scared kids grow into confident, self-disciplined, organized young adults. Cadets meet during the school year in their local community and do service projects, hands-on learning, drill, exercise, ship tours, and lots more. In the summer they go to one or two week training programs where they can try out future vocations including firefighting, medicine, aviation, law, law enforcement, seamanship, culinary arts, and photojournalism, among others.
The pinnacle of a Sea Cadets career is the elite International Exchange Program in which cadets travel to countries around the world to meet and work with foreign cadets. This amazing opportunity builds friendships and helps move towards us closer to world peace.
Boys and girls enjoy Sea Cadets. Beginning in middle school and running through the end of high school, the program offers challenges and activities which cannot be found in any other youth program. It's truly an outstanding opportunity for young people become the person they want to be!
Best organization for teaching young people about leadership, service and responsibility.
