Results: Some highlights of our impact during 2020 include: 66,200+ people called or texted 211, connecting to services like food pantries, rental assistance, legal help or meal delivery. 92,200+ Santa Clara County residents received food from the EAN. Through our Earn it! Keep it! Save it! program, $68,000 in tax refunds went back into the community with the help of 2,900 volunteers during the 2020 tax season. 230+ youth connected to job readiness and career exploration services. 6,000 Bay Area residents received free financial coaching last year 87% made progress towards financial goals. Distributed $1.9M+ in grants to 114 Bay Area organizations for Census 2020 outreach and assistance.
Target demographics: Our work assists low-income families and individuals, with a particular focus on critical populations such as at-risk youth, single parent families, immigrants, and people of color which we know are disproportionately affected by poverty.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Supported 130+ Bay Area nonprofits, secured $6.3M in total COVID-19 relief, distributed $750K to support Bay Area rental relief.
Geographic areas served: Eight counties in the San Francisco Bay Area: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Solano.
Programs: Our core poverty-fighting programs focus on three key areas of economic success: basic needs, career and employment opportunities, and financial security. Through our vital programs, we have connected struggling Bay Area residents to food and shelter, helped individuals get jobs to support themselves and their families, and ensured that Bay Area youth can succeed in school and the workplace.
