I am on the advisory board of an organization here in the US called Home of hope inc. I was in charge of overseeing our contribution to Udayan Care and I have to say that I have not seen a more dedicated passionate person than Dr. Kiran Modi. She started and has now nurtured with the help of q committed staff, an organization which has single handidly taken care of hungreds of children who otherwise would have been on the street. Udayan care has set a worthy example of how to nurture vulnerable citizens of our community into healthy loved and caring and self sustaining individuals!
This is organization where i have found the great care for children( studies, parental love, activities). The organization is very much involved with the children and their aspirations. And putting their(Udayan) 100% to fulfill that. May god bless all of them.
I have been a volunteer at MG road Shelter Home. I am so impressed with the special attention that the mentor mothers give to these homes. The organization is doing a great job in giving the children a prosperous career ahead. Some of the students are studying at best schools in Delhi like Sanskriti, and availing the best facilities. The NGO recognizes the potential of every child and gives them a fair chance to hone their skills, and identify their strengths. Kids interact with confidence and their communication skills are comparable to the best of their age. I wish them all the best in their endeavor.
I have been associated with Udayan Care since May 2007 and it's been a real learning experience for me. I visited Ms Kiran Modi maa'm my friend Dr. Savleen as volunteers. We started visiting Sant Nagar home in New Delhi. Interaction with children, with mentor mother and other volunteer all has been a real enriching for me. These small children make you learn (relearn) so many things about your life that you have forgotten. I was acting as teacher of Nancy - a class IX girl and she is just faboulous and teaches me more about myself, my weaknesses and my behaviour. Other children like Rekha, Kiran and Mamta are also very good. The organisation takes care of children in a very structure way. Homes have all the facilities that any child can aspire for. All children have assigned duties so that they can feel responsible. In a country like India, when we can see thousands of orphans roaming around on roads, this organisation is a small but very right step in right direction. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this family.
Something which cannot be expressed in words. It was a mind blowing and a very fulfilling experience. The warmth, the connection and the welcome I received from the little angels was something very moving. The enthusiasm and the pride with which they took me around to their rooms, their play ground, their kitchen and dining hall was something which I cannot write in words. We can learn a lot from these children of lesser God, who are happy, hopeful and contented and live together as a big family. One small step towards them can make you see the gratitude on their faces. I just fell in love with them
My name is Wenka and i'm from Holland. I had the honour to be the first foreign Volunteer, in the first year of Udayan Care's existence. I have worked with Dr Kiran Modi for 6 months and to me it was a life changing experience. The dedication not only she but her whole family and support group has shown is amazing. Not succeeding in het mission of creating a home, a family and a future for the children of Udayan Care was never an option. I was there in the first girls home and i am so proud to see what the organisation Udayan Care has achieved and created up until now. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr Kiran Modi herself and Udayan Care have made a difference not only for the children but for India as a country. To quote a famous saying: "Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire"
I was aware of ‘Udayan Care’ only four years ago by an accidental meet with Dr. Kiran Modi who is the Managing Trustee. Her personality and her commitment to the cause were evident to me from my first meeting. I voluntarily got involved with the activities of ‘Udayan Care’ and I learned more and gradually I discovered how emotionally the children of their homes were cared and the mentoring that was provided to the Shalini Fellowship girls which was far more than just extending financial support. Because of this I got emotionally involved and started participating in their events and assisting ‘Udayan Care’ in whatever little way I could on a regular basis. It was sheer delight to see some of the children who were grown in these houses and how they have emerged as self confident with aspiration and waiting to perform their role in the society. When these children and Shalini Fellowship girls address Dr. Kiran Modi as ‘Kiran Bhua’ one has to see their emotion and experience how they feel about it.
I was a volunteer for a few months and was sent to the girls home in Greater Noida. I was so impressed with the way the children there were given love and structure and education. They were all so polite and delightful and I loved being called Susan Auntie! Whenever I have been back to visit, they see me and come running, calling 'Susan Auntie'. The programmes that have been set up,such as the 'udayan ghar' and 'mentor mother' work so well for the girls and it was wonderful to see how the older girls are progressing on to higher education. Kiran Modi is doing an amazing job thanks to her hard work and perseverance. Susan Segal, London
I'm from Ireland and went to India to volunteer with Udayan Care, I went with only one other girl. We were very nervous going over to India as we were both only 18 and it was our first time away from our families for that long. But once we met with Kiran Modi we felt relaxed. We volunteered in the boys home in Noida for five weeks and after the first few days we felt like it was our home! I think this is a brilliant organization as it gives so many girls and boys a better chance in life and is raising them to become wonderful and smart people. The organization is also so welcoming to volunteers, they understand how its hard for volunteers being in such a different country and helped us out in seeing the beautiful places in India. I am so proud to have helped with this organization, it gave me a chance to help others and learn more about myself. I hope with all my heart that I will get a chance to volunteer with Udayan Care again as I met some of the greatest people in the world while volunteering with them.
i have been associated with udayan care since 2001 and it's been a real pleasure to see the organization grow so well under kiran's passionate leadership. the grassroot level support provided by UC to the children is commendable. the unique 'udayan ghar' and 'mentor mother' model has been successfully proven. it UC is able to attract more managerial talent, sky is the limit for them .. and the benefits to society at large! power to the entire udayan care family and kiran - who's passion is inspiring.
They give a total homely environment to children. Their individual attention to children is what attrected me towards this organisation. Thanks Nitin
I had a great time at Udayan Care. As a volunteer I worked with the girls in the Greater Noida area. I remember entering the place for the first time and all the girls, ages between 3 and 20 years old, came up to me and welcomed me. Although overwhelming, it was a great way to get 'on board'. I applaud Udayan care for the professional way they support both the children and the communities they are in contact with. By providing proper education for these girls and also a warm home, they make a difference in these childrens lives. The way they engage there partners, childeren, staff and volunteers shows that they know what doing. And they are doing a great job!
I came to know about Udayan Care through a close friend, Dr. Shiv Sarin. One visit to the Udayan Ghar at Sant Nagar showed me a novel method adopted for providing parenting and family bonding to abandoned girls. Here was an organization committed through a well knit group of dedicated mentor mothers/volunteers to make these disadvantaged children confident and capable of facing the world on their own terms. The girls at Sant Nagar were brimming with confidence and determination to do well in life. The motto of Udayan Care, "Empathy, Education, Empowerment" could be seen visible in the various activities/steps being taken to nurture these children. From then onwards I have been closely associated with the activities of Udayan Care.
Having worked for almost 10 years in developmental sector, I sincerely hope that Udyan Care has actually set the ethics of developmental work by adopting disadvantaged children and doing some concrete work. The most satisfying aspect is the high quality of care which a child gets in these adoption homes. ( I have visited one of the homes) My only concern is that as the number of disadvantaged children are increasing day by day and quality adoption homes are very few, it has to be seen that in the coming days what strategy Udyan Care adopts to reach the vast population of disadvantaged children and bring smile on their faces.
I am one of the beneficiaries of Udayan Care, Ghar(HOME)Programme. I have successfully put my personal traumas behind and decided to move ahead in life with the help of wonderfull mentor mothers ïŠ My career progressed through a positive mental health program; good education and professional training. A degree in Hospitality Management from Rai University won her a place in the workforce in the UK. On my return, I joined the prestigious Oberoi group of hotels, moving later to the Country Inn group of hotels. My heart was however in the career that I subsequently chose – “Making a difference in the lives of those deprived of the joys of childhood.” Everything else followed: the Swasthi Foundation for Education out of my UK savings; the switchover from the glamorous hospitality industry to the more meaningful NGO sector. I formally joined Udayan Care as a resource mobilizer and also Executive Assistant to the Managing Trustee. Having been a beneficiary of Udayan Care in the past, my thought process is more in tune with the children in the Udayan Care homes than those who have never experienced such traumas (works very differently) and my decisions have made a positive impact at the grass root level.
When I decided to give up on the corporate world in order to do something more meaningful 6 years ago, I had no idea I would end up being a 'mentor mom' to 15 beautiful girls that I call family today. My introduction to Udayan Care was a bunch of fiery, committed women who had chosen to provide HOPE as the greatest gift they could give to previously orphaned or abandoned children.Children who had no one to call their own, no home ti call 'mine' and no idea what life had in store for them. 6 years later, I see a bright bunch of girls on the brink of adolescence, really no different from anyone else in the schools they go to, except that they may have 2, 3 or even 5 mentor parents (moms and dads) caring for them. Udayan Care is an organisation with a heart, one that began on the wings of a dream and has grown to be a standard for child care and protection in Delhi, and possibly India. In it's efforts to reach out to the many disadvantaged communities India has today, it spreads itself thin sometimes. But as a team of committed staff, 'life' volunteers and supportive donors help it fulfill each over arching dream, I am convinced Udayan Care's reputation amongst the government's Child Welfare Committees as a gold standard in child care and development will manifest itself as their being true catalysts of change.
Udayan Care - is an organisation with a true difference. It doesnot run orphanages but homes for disadvantaged children. There is no doubt that any person can take the place or let alone claim to take the place/ duties/ love of a parent, but in my opinion UC is very near to it. The amount of love, personal attention, care..... is given to all the children by each and every member of this family is amazing. I have seen UC grown over so many years to its present level, which has been possible because of the continuous support and confidence given by our society. It brings joy to my heart seeing all these kids shape up so well, you got to see them to believe it. The amount of confidence that is bestowed in each child is amazing, the kind of skills they are able to show on stage, i am myself get jittery.
I was fortunate enough to work with 41 girls, between the ages of 5 and 21 who are within Udayan Care in Greater Noida. The girls were happy, loving and extremely talented. We created large scale mandalas that contained colourful symbols with positive affirmations. My ideas for the mandalas were basic but the girls were driven to expand on this to create remarkable designs. They demonstrated focus, discipline, enthusiasm and passion to produce results that far exceeded anything that I have seen while working with youth in London. I believe that their motivation is the influence of the people who work within the organization. Kiran Modi and all the staff nurture and support the children in a way that demands admiration. The experience has been inspirational having a dramatic impact on the way I perceive the potential of human kindness and selfless service to those who have lost their family. Kiran's organization compensates for this loss in such a profound and compassionate way.
While working as a volunteer, I realised that Udayan Care is an institution with a 'soul' and a clear intent. It is heartening to see its member children regain their zest for life and confidence in themselves thereby achieving the extra-ordinary, thanks to the platform provided to them.
I have been a beneficiary of the Udayan Sahlini Fellowship (USF). I was inducted in the third batch of the USF when I was in higher secondary( class 11th CBSE Delhi) since then Udayan Care family has been a sourse of constant support and motivation for me. This year only i have graduated from the program after successfully completing my five year with them and graduating from MIRANDA HOUSE university of Delhi. Now i have joined at India's one of the premier research institute for my higher studies.the five years that i have spent with udayan care has been great in all dimensions. its all their support and motivation. Udayan shalini fellowship changed my life completely. from a government school girl to being a part of India's most prestigious research institution. its all coz of udayan shalini fellowship. i couldn't have moved a step forward without their help. the constant motivation in form of regular three monthly workshops boosted up my self confidence and gave me the vision to dream high and work hard in order to achieve my goals. towards the last two years of my stay with them they appointed me as mentor didi. it helped me to look towards world in a different way by mentoring school girls younger to me. our programme coordinator Mr Sajan Mathew and Mr Faheem Khan has always been a good listeners and a ray of hope and great counsellors in our blue moments. being fellows we were encouraged to be involved in social work, which was a necessary part of the programme. this helped us to understand our social responsibilities and work for a better tomorrow with greater hope. social campaigns were really fun that increased our knowledge about certain social problems and issues and gave us a better insight into the lives of those less privileged then us. in all i have learnt a lot being with them and evolved as a better and more confident human being in all spheres of life.I am really thankful to Mr Vikram Dutt, Mr Sajan and Udayan Shalini fellowships for the wonderful opportunity that they brought in for me through this beautiful programme. I am blessed to have been a beneficiary of this programme as this has shaped many of my thoughts and shaped my future. I am always thankful to them for being a guide and a friend.
I've had a few chance meetings with the team at Udayan Care, and specifically Kiran Modi and Subhasis Chakrabarti. I think that the model adopted by Udayan Care to give a home atomosphere to the children where they feel a sense of normalcy and familial belonging is truly wonderful
I have personally visited the Udayan Homes and was overwhelmed to see the how confidently each of the kids came across. Udayan doing a phenomenal job with respect to gettin these kids at pace with the world outide.
It is a treat to meet members, volunteers and specially mentor mothers of UC.They are such a committed bunch who are ready to compromise even their mental peace to raise the girls of Udayan Ghars.

I have been associated with this organisation for the last 2-3 years through my organisation's work for society (this is one of the NGOs that we support). I beleive they are doing great job. My interaction with the staff of Udayan Care has also been excellent. I may fall short of words to praise Udayan Care. Well done and Keep it up!
I have been associated with Udayan Care for the last eight years and, in that time, have been helping to care for the children of the Sant Nagar home. I have watched the children blossom into happy, confident young people. Some of them have never been to school when they come to Udayan Care – often at the age of 10, 12 even 14 – but within one or two years, they become literate in both Hindi and English. Having just 12 children to a home really creates a family atmosphere and it is lovely to see the older children helping the younger children – in their dress, in taking them to school, in helping them with their studies. So far, there has only been a handful of children who have moved on in the world, and it is when I see the lives they are now leading, that I realize how Udayan Care has helped to totally transform their lives. We have young people working in hotels and in textiles, in retail – holding down jobs that they would not have dreamt of before they were given a home in Udayan Care. What do I personally get out of Udayan Care? - The love and affection of the children. There is nothing better than going to their home and being greeted by a small body hurtling itself at you and hugging you tightly. Thanks to Kiran Modi’s magnetic personality, Udayan Care has been able to create a tightly-knit group of dedicated volunteers and staff and the interaction I have with them has been vital to improve my work with the children. Not only have I been able to create a bond with the children of Sant Nagar, but I have also been fortunate to be able to do so with children from the other homes, when I have interacted with them at a Summer Camp and, more recently, in rehearsals for a dance performance. Most importantly, Udayan Care is more than an NGO, it is a family, where the members comes together to celebrate special functions, weddings etc. I am privileged to be part of this family.
I visited this organization's home several times in Sant Nagar, where they take care of 13 girls. I taught English to some of them and also some basic hygiene. My overall experience was that all the people who work at this organization are really dedicated and do all in their power to raise these children. I have seen unexpectedly high level of self-sacrifice and enthusiasm despite the bad financial situation NGOs have to face at these times of financial crisis. I wish they had more support and volunteers to carry out this important and beautiful work.
it is a great organisation and have spent almost a decade and a half of involvement with this organisation. Most importantly, this organisation has a 'soul' and all work with a passionate involvement. It is not just a job for anyone who comes in. Most of all, I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy the sense of joyous wonder in all - children, Fellows, volunteers, mentor and professional staff - when children scale new heights; forcing us to reeavaluate our own efforts at facilitating growth. And critically, not only is the organisation child rights centric; it is also doing a great job in involving civil society. Go for it!!!
My experience with Udayan Care has been a truly wonderful one. As a long-term volunteer at one of the organization's homes, I really got the chance to become part of the Udayan family. One can immediately feel the love the kids at the Udayan Ghars receive and it's a heart-warming experience to be part of their learning and growing as complete human beings. The organization places places much value on a good education for the kids but also enabels them to cultivate their skills and interests in various fields such as sports and arts, and so we had lots of opportunities to learn and laugh together. Because of the family atmosphere in the Udayan homes I soon became a bhaiya, a big brother, and not only a teacher or mentor. That was an experience I would never want to miss in my life and I hope be back in India as soon as possible to reunite with my boys.
We(Dr.Sajiv Adlakha & Seema Adlakha) are associated with UDAYAN CARE/(Mrs.Kiran Modi)since its inception as SPEECH THERAPIST & HEARING SPECIALIST for the NGO helping children to make them effective speakers and good communicators. We are highly impressed by the Whole team of U.C.Each and every individual in which ever field he/she is associated with the children is so much dedicated which no words can describe. We hope that God shower upon U.C. His choicest blessing so that Children of UDAYAN CARE make us proud.
Early childhood lays the foundation for a healthy future for which Udayan has developed a Group Foster Care Model, that works on a strategy called LIFE: Living In Family Environment and I truely beleive that Udyan has provide real shelter. I am associated with Udayan Care Mayur Vihar branch which is 'LIFE Udayan Ghars' for boys. I am a volunteer and visit home in weekdays. I am amazed to see different calliber in boys like sanjay's drawing skills, rahul brilliant in studies and nakul good in criket and they have thrive to learn everything. Thanks to Udayan Care who has fulfull the dreams of children by Educating them in the best tradition of learning and giving real human values in the children:-)
I was associated to Udyan Care through Teach India program. This was the first NGO I worked with. I can easily say that I am amazed at the way Udyan care is managed. I used to think that NGOs strive to fulfill the basic needs of its residents. But at Udyan Care, I saw the kind of effort this organization makes for overall development of the children. Stress was not only on the education, but also on their career planning and personality development. I learned a lot during my stint with them, I wish Udyan care all the very best for their future endeavors
Since the time of foundation of Udayan Care, i have ben associated with this loving family. Honestly i am not a very active volunteer/donor but needless to say that whenever and whichever way i have associated myself , it has been a cherishing moment of my life....
My experience about Udayan Care is fantastic and I really admire Udayan Care for it's supporting and caring for us. I wish every child of Udayan make the proud of this name and make their future bright to make urself and udayan members proud. I am thankful to udayan care for giving me a nice education from Sanskriti school. Whatever I have learnt that is from Udayan Care.
A colleague (Dee Jethwa) and I (both of us based in the UK) recently spent time at Udayan. We visited the Ghars, talked at length to the children and young people, their care givers, their mentor parents, Udayan staff and senior management and those responsible for the organisation's governance. Dee and I have lengthy experience of working in social care in the UK and I have managed residential care for children and young people here. We were greatly impressed by what we observed, what we heard (especially from the children and young people) and by all of those responsible for the service. It was a privilege to spend time at Udayan.
I worked with Udayan Care as a volunteer during my summer vacations in May-June 2007 and 2008. I used to help the girls at the Sant nagar Home with their studies. Its absolutely amazing the way all those children are looked after by the Udayan Care team. They are nutured with lots of love and values. I've seen them working, playing, dancing and studying together. The Udayan care team works very hard to give them the best. The mentors and mother mentors look after the children like their own family. While my time there, i've seen an 8 year old girl who had been recently brought into the family being welcomed and helped by everyone, younger and older, with instant love and care. And i've also seen, all the members organise a farewell party for a 20 year old who was leaving the house beacuse she got a job. Everyone was happy that she had made a place for herself in this world and yet sad that she was leaving the home.
Udayan is a Sanskrit word signifying 'Eternal Sunrise'. I have always experienced that UDAYAN CARE lives upto its name by bringing sunshine into the lives of the disadvantaged. As I had always wanted to contribute toward my society but sometimes got restricted by my busy schedules or something else, being in Narsinghpur House of Udayan Care has been my golden chance to do something, to make a difference to myself to some extent. Teaching those kids, coaching them, playing with them or simply talking or listening to them always give me an intuitive understanding of life. Some time when the world seems to be a very tough place to live in, these kids make me realize that life is still beautiful; we just need to keep our eyes open. I will like to convey my love to all my kids and sincere regards from core of my heart to Mrs. Lily Ghosh and Mr. Ranjan Ghosh to become parents of these kids in true sense. Thanks to Udayan Care to bring many beautiful sunrise in many lives including that of mine. Isha
I volunteered with Udayan Care this summer of 2009 and I honestly felt so much at home. I have volunteered with a lot of organizations before. I'm a student in Canada, so it was my first time volunteering in India but the whole staff was so friendly and they made me feel perfectly at home. I was never in doubt and if I had any questions, answers were easily available. The Santnagar environment was friendly and super fun. I LOVED all the kids! I miss them all so much. I learnt so much from this experience as well. It actually did not even feel like volunteering. It felt like just going to visit friends or my cousins or something. After spending about a month there, I got so used to going to Santnagar that after coming back to Canada, it felt really strange to not be able to go there everyday. I definately want to volunteer again every time I go visit India from now on. And what really moved me was that Udayan Care did not have orphanages like alot of other organizations do. They had homes. The kids had mentor mothers and the staff was like family to them. As well, the staff always looked for the kids' strengths. They were never forced necessarily to pursue a certain thing in life. If they loved art or dance they were encouraged to go for it. This I thought was better than alot of Indian parents as sometimes they put so much pressure on their kids. The staff of Udayan care are so supportive and encouraging of the kids as well as aware of all of their needs. I was truly touched by this organization and I would like to continue being a part of it for my entire life. This experience has moved me so much, it will always remain as one of my most valuable memories for my whole life.
I have been a part of Udayan Care for 6 years now and it is a relationship that i believe will always be ongoing. I originally came to Udayan Care as a volunteer working in the children's homes and particularly became a regular part of our Gurgaon boys home. Over the past years i have spent long periods of time regularly living and working directly with the children as well as the Managing Trustee in different capacities. I now continue this involvement on a daily basis from home in Australia running our International Volunteer program. Udayan Care is a huge part of my life and through my experiences and the relationships I have made, i have and continue to learn so much about myself, and what i want to contribute to this world. Udayan Care are about so much more than can be expressed on paper. Our children now have choice and possibility in their lives, not to mention the love and support completely comparable to that of a natural loving family environment. Udayan Care has consistently grown in the years i have been involved and this is due to the amazing people puling together and the calibre of their passion. Kiran Modi continues to be a source of such incredible inspiration to me. Through Kiran and Udayan Care my own life has been shaped to one that i am proud of and passionate about. It is one of giving and i look forward to sharing and growing through my continued involvement with Udayan care.
In working with Udayan Care on a daily basis as from December 2004 I have come to admire the staff and the students of this organization. The quality is in the mix of commitment, persistence, discipline and mutual respect from both staff and children. while recapitulating the last 4 years, the elements that make me classify Udayan Care as a first class organization are: 1) The ability of the chair person to transfer her personal passionate commitment into repeatable business processes; 2) Udayan Care delivers stable, confident, intelligently curious, skillful personalities who grow on the consequences of their decisions, in spite of starting with children without any basis in health, safety, affiliation, esteem; 3) The ability to think scale without ever compromising full commitment to the little personalities; 4) The ability to understand and mitigate risk involved in sending developed children into the world out there. 5) Continuous pressure on exceeding achievements in delivering financially auditable figures - in India; 6) Relationship management resulting in retention of sponsors and other types of support; 7) Successfully fighting bureaucracy in a growing organization, in particular, in India, is an achievement; 8) Repeatability, quality, affordability, reliability; 9) The ability to let go if things do not work out well. I would recommend this organization to anyone, even my own children if needed.
i was associate with udayan care during my internship of 6 months. i really appreciate the efforts of the team of udayan care. I was really satisfied and touched to see how beautifully a home environment is created for children. It provides good quality of amenities to children and at the same time it takes care of the volunteers working for the cause. to quote an experience which changed my perspective to life was the values imbibed in children by the mentor parents and caregivers. all of them were open to sharing. like in any other family children had difference in opinion but yet they were protective and concerned about each other. udayan care in true sense is successful in creating a well knit "family" for the children. all the best. kudos to you!!
My mother is a mentor mother at one of the homes that Udayan Care runs. It is such a joy to go into this home and witness the transformation in the lives of these little girls through constant love and care. When you walk into the home you are surrounded by laughing, giggling children, excited to see you and show you all they have accomplished. When I heard the stories of these children and the background they came from I'm amazed at the progress they've made and how happy, normal and contented they seem. One story I remember vividly my mother telling me. One 6 year old girl said to her one day that we must have been bad to have been born in our families that treated us so badly. Then she paused for a moment and said, "But we must have done something good to have come across people like you to take care of us and love us". It was such an wonderful testimonial and reward for my mother.
I was associated with Udayan Care as an intern roughly for a period of 3 months. During my brief stint at the organisation, I was overwhelmed with the scale of work handled by the members of the team and the dedication each one put to make children smile. It requires a lot of patience and expertise to coordinate the wide range of tasks that the Udayan Care undertakes. My best wishes to the team.
Udyan care is an organisation which can really bring about well being of the underpriviliged children and women. The effort put in by the organisation is exemplary and the homes established by them provides a sense of belonging to the children staying there.Apart from the care, the basic education gives the children the right to live their lives respectably and also fosters a spirit of contributing something to the society.I hope that the organisation will continue to do their good work in the future.
Wishes to the Udayan Care Team! I have been to Udayan Care centres in Sant Nagar and Gurgaon Homes, interacted with children and staff members. The happiness, sense of belonging, care and satisfaction is quite evident on the innocent faces. This is for sure attributed to the sincere efforts of Udayan team in providing quality care, education and food to children. Personal interaction with the Director, Ms. Kiran Modi will speak of her commitment and dedication to the cause of the children. She and her team's efforts needs regular motivation and all good wishes from everyone. I feel so touched that Udayan uses an all 'inclusive' approach towards girls and boys from different social background and diversities...
Udayan Care's noble cause is towards transforming the lives of disadvantaged children and women, the organization supports the needful in every possible manner that they can. My experience with Udayan Care was something for which i do not end up rewarding myself that I worked with them as a volunteer. The project carried out by me was to redraft the Human Resource Manual of Udayan Care with the introduction of new procedures; studying the present Human Resource Policies & Udayan Care’s focus on employee requirements. Working with Udayan Care, the most important learning that came across is their potential in terms of skills & capabilities of staff, volunteers and administration. Also, involved was the support given by our very own Managing Trustee, Mrs. Modi, she's gem of a person showcasing her charismatic persona for development of Udayan Care. I would be proud to get associated with Udayan Care in the near future with all my support.
I was so pleasantly surprised to visit & interact with children at Udayan Care. Not only are they well cared for but also truly loved. The children across as very wholesome, happy and carefree. The best thing about Udayan is the emphasis they lay on quality education. All the children go to mainstream schools & colleges. And they lead lives which are very similar to their other classmates...pocket money, weekly outings & even an annual holiday!!! This is probably what prevents these children from growing up with complexes.
Recently, in a meeting, Udayan Care Trustee, Mr. Suresh Neotia said, " Udayan Care does things differently" I think he is absolutely right. Our Rehabilitation Homes for orphaned and abandoned children is just so different. Children get such bonding and family feeing in our LIFE (Living In Family Environment) Homes. Mentored by life time volunteers, children experience family and give back so much love and warmth. Same is Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme.
