This nonprofit organization is truly an inspiration. I've been with them for ten years and I have witnessed how they changed the lives of their recipients. From the children who benefited the early childhood preschool and daily feeding program, to the parents who were taught different livelihood activities and lifted their spiritual hopes through Bible studies and devotions. Indeed, empowering the lives of the communities in need.
As someone who has traveled to the Filipino communities helped by Together in Hope, I have seen firsthand how they are being aided to help themselves to better lives. With in-country leadership and extensive involvement by the locals, the charity is helping to make a huge difference in education and self-sufficiency for the people served.

I had the privilege to met many of the folks being helped by Together In Hope and there is no question that TIH is doing tremendous work. Truly helping people help themselves. Plus, every penny contributed goes directly to that effort.
This donation is in memory of a great friend who spent much of his life empowering and loving those less fortunate. He dedicated his time, knowledge, strength and compassion wholly in hopes that lives could be improved.
Together in Hope has been one of his fondest projects to work with and it's continued success would greatly honor him.
Alan was truly a disciple of the Lord on earth and now an angel of God.
Together in Hope has not only impacted my life but also others here and around the world. This wonderful organization truly cares and loves people. They really get to know the people in the community and help feed the community's mind, body, and soul!
My name is Nida Ruth Gonda, a volunteer and Board member of Together in Hope. I have joined all the outreach trips in the Philippines since its founding in 2007. It is my joy to share with you what Together in Hope continue to do in the Philippines. Together in Hope is a 501 (c)3 public charity that works primarily with impoverished communities in the Philippines and in partnership with local churches and institution such as Harris Memorial College, and 2 local sites located in Upper Javier in Taytay, Rizal and in Bicol province.
Since 2007, Together in Hope is achieving its mission of empowering poor communities and its model of building upon shared leadership among the communities. The local community plays an active role in the project identification, planning, implementation, and monitoring. As a community grows and develops, Together in Hope is there to assist with educational and nutritional support, job and livelihood training, and health care support. By empowering communities, Together in Hope seeks to break the cycle of poverty, giving community members and families a future with hope.
For over 13 years, Together in Hope with financial support from donors and funders, it provides and sustains three (3) major outreach programs in two (2 ) outreach sites as follows:
1. Early Childhood Literacy Education (preschool) – serving at least 80 young children (annual cost of $346.65 per child/unit) from poor families, ages 3-4 each school year (June-March) providing developmentally age appropriate activities and environment for learning as well as nutritious meals during school hours.
2. Livelihood Program - Because of poverty in the communities, a lot of parents are unemployed, for this reason Together in Hope offers Livelihood Training Program where they learn some skills such as carpentry, cosmetology, sewing, crocheting and make products that can be sold in the markets. It’s a weekly program serving at least 35-40 adults (annual cost of $20.11 per participant/unit).
3. Nutrition/Feeding Program - The lack of access to proper nutrition is not only a major cause of obesity and other health issues, it also leads to food insecurity and hunger among children in communities Together in Hope serves. There are 70-90 children, ages 1 through 12 or older currently benefiting from the week-end feeding program served with hot and nutritious food (annual cost of $36.75 per child/unit).
Together in Hope is an amazing organization that seeks to uplift and empower women, men and children in impoverished communities. TIH's focus on education and community development is unmatched in the nonprofit world, and TIH relies on personal relationships and connections to determine where its resources meet the greatest needs. TIH uses 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon races to raise much of its support. These races promote individual health and achievement, and reach people who otherwise would not know of TIH's mission of local community empowerment and education. I love this organization!
Hi! I'm Jesusa Cesario Pagapulangan a Deaconess appointed by our conference at Genesis of Life United Methodist Church formerly Cottingham United Methodist Church. I graduated at Harris Memorial College year 2015 with the helped of Rev. Dianne Mcgehee through Together with hope foundation. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to finished my college and enter to the ministry as God servant to His vineyard. I would like to take this opportunity to thank together in hope by sponsoring me as their full scholar. Thank you together in hope for the support financially. May God continually blessed the foundation and all the person who committing their lives. God bless you!
Hi there! I'm Luisa Mañabat from the Philippines. I am a blessed volunteer of the Together in Hope Mission Team in Bulacan since 2007. My husband -Ptr. Ruben and I first met Ptr. Diane and the Together in Hope way back 2007. It was an answered prayer for us and the Ministry.
Together in Hope had reached and changed lives through its projects: Helping churches established Feeding ministry and providing help for students to finished their schooling. I had been also a recipient of their scholarship that's why I finished my Master's degree last October 2013 and I’m now taking my Doctorate Degree at the University of the Philippines. With the assistance, I was also able to present my research paper in an International Conference in Bangkok, Thailand Last May 2018.
Together in Hope first came to Bulacan, Philippines with our dear Pastor Renato Santos who introduce Pastor Diane and others as Partners-in-Mission to our Church appointment then. There was an ongoing project in the church to build a Multi-purpose area to hold the Sunday school for Children and other church activities. They helped built the Multi-purpose Area and then started also feeding ministry to children in a resettlement place partnering with our Church-Bethany United Methodist Church. These families were relocated because they used to live in areas near the rail road tracks. The Together in Hope provided means to help children be fed with nutritious food and spiritual nourishments as well.
Since then, we’ve been part of their outreach ministries in Upper Javier, Taytay Rizal and another Methodist Church in Naga City, Bicol Region. They continue with the feeding and teaching ministry, empowering and helping children to find hope and encouragement amidst poverty and rise above it in order to find a better way of living. Three of their scholars are already teachers, one of them became a Church Worker of the church.
Together in Hope works to empower communities living in poverty in the Philippines. We provide employment opportunities, as well as education, nutritional support and livelihood training through a model that lifts up the entire community. All of our programs are lead by locals in the communities where we serve and they do an amazing job. It is a privilege to work with these creative and gifted individuals and families who lack only opportunity. That's what Together in Hope provides.
Together in Hope (TIH) does an incredible job serving families and children. From the founders to volunteers to individuals directly serving families daily--everyone has a passion for the mission and the children served served and impacted.
I'm looking for a non profit job. I am taking one class right now that consist In work wgere I could.
This organization is led by a dedicated visionary who is answering the call to empower people to rise above the oppression of poverty. My dear friend, Rev. Diane McGehee, knows that we are always stronger as a team. I have had the honor of supporting her effort as a prayer partner from the beginning. Under her guidance children in the Philippines, El Salvador and Ethiopia are able to learn with full bellies and necessary nutrition. Young adults achieve their dream of college through micro-loans assisting in small business start-ups. Most importantly, people reclaim their self-worth and dignity by knowing someone cares about them and believes they are a valued child of God.

Together in Hope has helped many people in El Salvador. That touches my heart because that is where I was born and it is so sad that crime is taking over such a beautiful country. Together in Hope truly provides people with "hope" to live in such horrible conditions. Blessings to all the people involved in the organization for helping so many in need.
Together in Hope is a wonderful organization that really transforms the lives of families in need. The staff and volunteers are truly committed to the mission. Please like www.facebook.com/togetherinhope to see pictures and learn more about the amazing things the organization is doing.

I was very fortunate for the opportunity to travel with Together in Hope this summer. Our medical mission trip was to El Salvador, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.
We served around 700 individuals in need of medical and dental services and also had the opportunity to do lots of fun activities with the children. It was wonderful to see the patients walk out and pick up their prescriptions from our own mobile pharmacy after seeing the doctors.
The families we served benefited greatly but I felt I benefited from the so much as well. They transmit hope, strength, unity and love for life and one another. I also met new friends with pure hearts Spending a whole week with such caring individuals was a tremendous blessing for me as well.
TIH staff/coordinators and volunteers are clearly passionate about the mission.. I definitely look forward to joining them on another mission trip.
TIH is doing awesome things in the Philippines and Ethiopia (with Irish organization Youth Release). They really care about the communities and have a great impact on the lives of people in need. Also, their Program Director, Laura Power, is super dedicated and does awesome work. Great job guys.

Having watched..Youth Release..project grow from its infancy in Dublin to its dream of building a youth centre for the poorest of children living on the streets of Ethiopia, its been a fantastic achievement.Having seeing the passion and commitment of the volunteers, the struggle trying to fund raiseto help these kids in Ethiopia. What i like about the project is that all monies raised go directly to the project ,without costs been absorbed by administration. (including volunteers paying their own travel costs etc ..).The impact on the lives of these children due to Youth Release is imense as these kids previously had no future, now they have a youth centre offering all different kind of programs and its giving the kids some hope in their lives..Youth Release is a fantastic organisation and has changed kids lives and given them light at the end of the tunnel. One of the main things to keep this project up and running is fund raising, and donations. At this end its terific to see an organisation like ..Together in Hope..supporting Youth Release.Keep up the good work. DP, We are so excited to be part of the wonderful work Youth Release is doing, and are so happy we can support this wonderful organization. Thank you for your great review!
Thank you so much to Together in hope for supporting our new micro credit program at the Youth Release youth center. Thanks to this organization we are able to support 50 parents and caregivers through micro credit loans and in turn they will be able to support their children's education, and feed their children. Thank you for making this possible.
This is a great organization that works with the local community to give them a hand up not a hand out. In the last number of years I have seen communities thrive and become empowered through the various Together in Hope programs. I am excited to see the growth and development of TIH and its programs.

I have been working with Youth Release (Together in Hope sister organization in Ethiopia) since 2007. The people working for this organization have an amazing passion for helping disadvantaged youth living in Dire Dawa Ethiopia. I have seen the relationship they have with the children, and it is incredible to see the trust and confidence these children have in the people who work for this organization. Their work in Ethiopia is incredible and although they are a small, voluntary organization they have made a huge difference in the lives of many children living in poverty. When I heard Together in Hope wanted to partner with this organization, I was truly excited, as it is a wonderful opportunity for both organizations to learn from each other and to grow their programs. To have two great organizations working together will be amazing and I believe anything is possible... I am so grateful that I have been able to see the growth and development of Youth Release and I cannot wait to see whats in store...

We are so excited about this partnership, and really admire the work you are doing, so glad we can be a part of it!
Together In Hope is a mission minded group that believes in helping people help themselves. They currently are assisting people in the Philippines in their recovery from a devastating hurricane (among other projects!). And by assisting I don't mean rebuilding their houses for them. Many in this particular community made their living by the sea, but the community lost all of its boats to the hurricane. Together In Hope is assisting the community in the start up of its own boat builders, and guiding the development of a cooperative to fund and manage those boats so that everyone can use them to recreate their livelihood. Soon the people of this small seaside community will be back in business and able to rebuild their lives. They did not need to be taught to fish - just given the opportunity to build a boat!
Together in Hope is a marvelous organization which emphasizes empowerment of the individuals they serve. Their collaborative sites develop their own needs assesssment and are essential in the implementation of the program. This organization is non-profit and is one of the most important charities that I work with. I sincerely wish them continued success.
Together in Hope have done so much to help the underprivileged in the Philippines and El Salvador. As a non profit organisation they have empowered and reached out to people and given them hope and a chance to make better life choices for themselves. Without organisations like Together in Hope those less well off in Society would not be given the opportunity to make a better life for themselves. Well done to all who work with Together in Hope and I wish them continued success in their ventures.
I have been a volunteer with Together In Hope for over three years now working mostly in the Philippines, 5 trips, and one trip to El Salvador. It is a privilege to be part of this NPO. The mission of this organization is one of " empowerment". To help people move into a future where they overcome obstacles and better not only their own lives, but the live of the community.
Together In Hope is a strength in my every day life, knowing just one person, myself, together with you, can form an abundance of hope for others.
I was a recent volunteer on the medical mission trip to El Salvador on July 13th and had a fantastic experience. I previously went on a trip in 2011 to El Salvador with the Southwestern Soccer team, so to return and serve the community again was a blessing. To see the children again was heartwarming and a blast! I definitely learned some new soccer skills and Salvadorean Spanish playing with the kids! Yet again, Together in Hope was a phenomenal organization to work with, not only addressing the medical needs of the community, but making sure we as volunteers interacted with them and learned from each other at the same time. As a medical student, it was great to be able to use my clinical skills to help the community medically and see over 700 patients, but we also developed and taught health education activities to the children as well, hopefully promoting healthy lives throughout their entire lives and not just the short time we were able to be there. I think this is what really sets TIH apart from other organizations. They don't just "give" the community resources and establish dependence, but teach and grow the community in a way where it can become sustainable and unlimited in it's own progress with it's own resources and treasures. I would and I hope to return on another trip in the future.
My wife and I were so blessed to be part of the mission trip to El Salvador on July 13 organized by Together In Hope. It was our very first mission trip. While we expected that this experience would have an impact on us, we could never imagine the depth and intensity of that impact. Other members of our team have offered their reviews on this site, so I won't repeat some of the specific information related to the type of mission trip, who attended, etc. Rather, I want others to know about the passion of Together In Hope, its staff and its volunteers for serving, supporting, and empowering the people in Alta Mira Flores. Together In Hope has forged a wonderful relationship with this poor El Salvadorian community during the past few years; and we, as volunteers, have been invited to join in that relationship and be touched by that relationship. For me, after spending all of my time with the children during our week of service, it was difficult to leave; and those amazing children are now ever-present in my thoughts and in my prayers. Thanks to Together in Hope, I have a different perspective on life, on the many blessings that all of us take for granted at times, and on the responsibility that I, as a Christian, feel to help others in a much bigger way. I am eager and ready to return to El Salvador with Together in Hope!
I was one of the volunteer team that recently traveled to the community of Alta Mira Flores in El Salvador to provide health care, dental screening, exercise fun, and education to the children and families in the area. Together in Hope is a wonderful nonprofit that focuses on giving educational and nutritional support, plus offers access to health and dental care to communities in El Salvador, the Philippines, and Ethiopia. One of the great features of this organization is the longitudinal relationships built with these communities.
I was lucky enough to go to El Salvador with this group as a volunteer and medical student. I was amazed at how well organized everything on this trip was and it made my job even easier! We all had an amazing time and were able to help 700+ patients and children. I will continue to participate in this charity and can't wait until my next visit to El Salvador.
Accompanied a team of volunteers to San Salvador, El Salvador in support of ongoing work that this group does there. The team included individuals that provided medical care as well as educational activities in support of a school for disadvantaged children. This was my first mission experience and it left me desiring to do more.
I had the privilege of going to El Salvador on a medical/school mission trip organized by Together in Hope. The experience was eye opening, exceeded what I expected and left me with an eagerness to go back and do more.
I had the privileged to represent Together in Hope (TIH) in the recent Medical Mission Trip to El Salvador this past July. TIH has built this wonderful relationship with the people in Alta Mira Flores, El Salvador and it was a true blessing to witness the work in action! Not only was it a medical mission, which was a clinic that served the young to the old for a week, but TIH also served the school children of Rosa Blanca School. Through the help of TIH, these school children can have a brighter future and can stay off the streets where gang activity is evident. TIH gives the community of Alta Mira Flores hope in the midst of struggle and pain. TIH is a wonderful organization!

I was blessed to be apart of Together in Hope's mission initiative to the Philippines in 2008 and 2011. I was a witness to the many lives touched by this organization. Together in Hope continues to serve the Filipino community through Jessica's Table. Jessica's Table is a program developed for children where they are given nourishing meals and nourishing scriptures. It is a beautiful thing to see an organization to physically and spiritually meet the needs of the people. I look forward to continuing to give my time and talents to this organization as it continues to grow. I am blessed to be apart of an organization that is dedicated to building communities and relationships.
Going to this mission trip has really changed me a lot. being able to experience and done things i thought i would never do in my life. Mission trip has always been a dream for me to do. To help children and everyone else in need. Going to the trip I don't know what I was to expect or how should I react. The first day I began doing mission trip, seeing those kids and how their lives are like made me realize that those little complaints I have are nothing compare to how they are. For the kids to understand my stories I was able to tell the story in my language knowing that I'm not very good at it I became the translator of the group. Even though as I translate for them and forget words at times they never laughed at me or even talk bad about me. Seeing those kids happy faces when we came and see them are nothing compared to even how hot the place was. Knowing that every single one of those kids at least for 1 or 2 days listening and communicating with you is one of the most cherish moments I will never forget. I know only for those couple of days thanks to those little kids, i became something bigger than what I had thought about myself. Although it will be awhile before i see them again, I still hope that they have learned something from me and apply it to their lives as they get older. Listening to the stories that the parents said, that even though they live in a place like that or how hard their lives are hearing how powerful their love and praise towards are father and how happy they were with their families made me very amazed. This mission trip is something I could never forget and will continue to be something greater.
"When I first arrived to Philippines I was really excited, but at the same time I felt really weird. I didn't know what to expect when we started our mission trip. We went to two small communities and it was Upper Javier and Malis. The kids there were really amazing! We went and taught the kids the story of Esther and David and Goliath. We also made crowns for the little children. The experience was just unreal. I really developed a personal bonding with the kids. Some of them had told me that even though they are in a hard situation, they are willing to work hard to bring themselves up, not just for them but for their family. We had moments where some of the kids will start crying because we ran of food because more kids came than what was expected to. But most of them came just to see us and listen to our stories. The experience was spiritual moving because instead of them learning from us, we learned much more from them. The kids were happy as long as they are with their family. Words are not even enough to express the great experience I had during this Philippine Mission Trip. Our older youth that went 5 yrs ago to Philippines said that it will change you, but it's more different when you're the one experiencing it. It was more than a life changing experience. I also met new friends that helped us and that we really got close too. This Philippine Trip was beyond incredible and I can't wait to go back when there is another chance. Thank you to our sponsors and everyone that helped us through their donations and prayers!" -
My trip to the Philippines with Together in Hope has been an experience and I will carry this with me through my journey of life.. The first day teaching, I wasn't ready. I'm really bad talking front of many people and it's really difficult for me to explain things. I was scared that I might say something wrong or not right. Have you heard of that song? Hosanna? It sings .."open up my eyes to the things unseen. Show me how to love like You have loved me. Break my heart for what breaks Yours"... This mission trip opened my eyes to the things unseen.
These people had inspired me... One of the Nanays (mothers) has an illness, but didn't question God but continually thank God for the new day He had given her. They really inspired me in so many ways... Knowing that these kids had bigger problems broke my heart. We're here complaining what to eat while they're there not having nothing to eat, how can we worry for small things? I realized that these people have bigger problems than we do and yet we still worry. This has opened my eyes. Honestly I really can't wait for another mission trip & to get my hands dirty Thank you for letting me shared this with you. Have a bless day =]
I recently returned from a mission trip to the Philippines with Together in Hope: We were working together with the awesome Ates (older sisters) of Harris Memorial College throughout our missionary works at Upper Javier, and they would describe the situations that the kids faced in their everyday life. Malis in the other hand, was less of a struggle for me because of how open and big the places that we were at to teach the kids. Bethany UMC were our partners when we arrived in Malis and also helped us throughout our missionary works there. I was very thankful to be blessed me to work with such amazing people who have such a huge heart, for the kids of the Philippines. I have learned so many things from them especially patience.
Working with the kids of both Malis and Upper Javier was such a huge blessing as well. I actually have to say that I learned more from them than they might have learned from me. I remember always whining about how hot it was, and wondered how I was going to teach young kids, and at times I felt like I was going to give up. The smiles, tears, and testimonies that the kids shared with me are memories that I will never ever forget. It's what I also call my priceless treasures. The kids always gave me the strength to keep going and to continue getting up in morning. As minutes past while I was working with them, it didn't even feel like I was in a hot place. I learned that all my complaints before I even started was not even comparable to what they go through everyday. I really did learn more from them. And the more I got to know them, the more I realized that they are not just some kids that I am teaching, but my little brothers and sisters.
Together in Hope is steadfastly dedicated to helping those who are less fortunate. Keep up the good work.
I was fortunate enough to attend a mission trip with BUMC in conjunction with Together in Hope to El Salvador in the summer of 2010. The things I experienced truly changed my life. This organization is a superlative example of what people can be when like-minded, caring individuals put their thoughts and efforts into creating effective aid. On the trip that I personally participated in we renovated a school, worked with the kids, and put a new roof on a house that belonged to an elderly blind man. Together in Hope has made such a positive impact by delegating their focus as to establish longevity in the regions they enter, and spurring improvement from within by advocating improvements to education. I look forward to the work they'll do in the future, not only in El Salvador, but all around the world.
In January 2012 I travelled with “Together in Hope” Medical and Dental Mission to San Salvador, El Salvador. “Together in Hope” was the first mission group to provide Medical and Dental outreach to the community of Alta Miraflores. I am an Emergency Nurse by training and served as one of the nurses who provided care to the Adult and Pediatric patient population. Over 5 days we were able to provide care to over 350 medical patients and 125 dental patients. Within this community one physician provides basic clinical care, these clinics are overcrowded and under resourced. When interviewing and speaking with families in Alta Miraflores many stories were told about the need for additional medical/clinic resources. I worked with the majority of the pediatric population, many children had never seen a doctor nor received basic childhood growth and development trending, baseline vision or hearing tests or immunizations. If medical care had been provided and medications prescribed the families could not afford to purchase the medication. I feel that our presences in Alta Miraflores gave hope to the community and started to build trust in “Together in Hope”. On a personal note, I was able to use my nursing and medical training to help those with great need and I would volunteer again without a second thought there is nothing more rewardin that a smile and hug from those you are helping!
I’ve watched Together in Hope grow the past several years, becoming more effective, helping more people and streamlining its resources. I know of no other charity that uses all if it’s donation dollars for projects and not overhead. Their leader and directors work for free. This truly is the essence of charity. Watching all the participants work together in hope is stimulating.
As a board member, I am proud to be a part of Together in Hope. Together in Hope is founded on the premise that all people are created in the image of God and are of infinite value and worth. It seeks to work with marginalized communities, families, and persons in a way that honors their dignity and empowers their gifts. In each of the communities in which Together in Hope works, Together in Hope has been invited in by the community, listens deeply to the community, and seeks to empower the community to bring lasting change and transformation through education, nutritional support, vocational training, and working for accessible health care. The work is community led and community identified so that change comes from within and can be sustained. Children are finding hope; families are finding hope; communities are finding hope. Each one of us can make a difference and when we all do our part working together in hope toward a brighter future for all people, change happens for all of us!
I was in El Salvador in mid-October and had the oppportunity to make an extensive visit with Together in Hope' work in Alto de Miraflores, San Salvador, El Salvador, the Rosa Blanca School. The computer lab made possible by the labor, leadership and donations of Together in Hope is of great benefit to the teachers and students at the school. The level of computer literacy this year compared to last is quite heart-warming. Together in Hope has given childrenwho could not always rely on educational supplies, books, healthcare or theoretically grounded and science-tested classroom instruction an opportunity to acquire a sound educational experience. I was overwhelmed by the teacher, student and parent excitement and pride taken in the school and the sense of partnership the local community leaders feel for its work with Together in Hope. Dr. Recinos, Professor of Church and Society, Perkins School of Theology/SMU, Dallas, Texas
I highly commend the work Together in Hope does for the communities in El Salvador, Ethiopia and the Philippines. I had the opportunity to join one of the Mission trips to El Salvador in July of 2009 in conjunction with the BUMC mission team. We worked with the Rosa Blanca School for children where we held a 3-day Vacation Bible School for the kids; removed the drudgery of the school by painting the corridors and bathroom walls to make it look more like a school; re-built and furnished the kitchen which provides a decent meal for these 250 school children once a day, five days a week (this could be their only decent meal for the day) and replaced a leaky roof of one of the residents who happened to be a blind man who faithfully and courageously walked down the hill with his cane to attend chuch services every Sunday. What we have done, seen and experienced in El Salvador, touched many of us. Not only did I see a big challenge and hope for a better future in the smiles, eyes and faces of the children, teachers and school volunteers but I saw and felt that they believe there is a God who will work in many miraculous ways to help them out of their misery and grant them this hope for a change, a brighter future for themselves and their families. TOGETHER IN HOPE is one of their answered prayers. With God's grace I hope to someday be able to volunteer again. Felinda
When thinking of a charity i think of an organization that goes out of its way to help others in dire need. Together in Hope is a prime example of a charity. I personally have been on two mission trips to the Philippines and El Salvador with the Together in Hope organization. During my time in these places we helped countless individuals by re building schools and houses in the community, along with setting up food stations so that even after we left there would still be a place for the hungry to go and get food. Thats called leaving a positive effect on a society, and thats exactly what Together in hope is all about. When the people at Together in Hope enter a place of need, and they don't leave until the job is done. They genuinely care about the people they help, and they places they go.
On behalf of Youth Release I would like to extend our support for Together in Hope. Last summer the Director & Project Coordinator of Together in Hope visited the Youth Release youth center project in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. Although we are a small organization just getting started Together in Hope gave us so much encouragement and saw our vision for the youth center that had just been open. Together in Hope shared their experiences and gave constructive feedback on the project. While they were in Ethiopia, they visited with members of the local Youth Release committee, gave up their spare time and volunteered with local children that both live and work the street. They also provided art classes and sports groups, this was all done out their own good will. Our partnership with Together in Hope has been invaluable. Youth Release is now known in America but more importantly the problems facing street children in Ethiopia have been highlighted to the greater world, we have learned from the work that Together in Hope do in different countries which we have applied to our own project. We hope to expand on the youth center program in Dire Dawa and follow programs such as Jessica’s table and in the future establish a micro credit program for the families of the children we support. I wholeheartedly support this organization, the work they do, their vision, diversity and willingness to contribute what they can to disadvantaged communities around the world... I am very grateful for their support and for believing in what we do
Niamh Power, Director of Youth Release
Together in Hope is an organization that I have 100% confidence in. Both the founder and the executive director are hands-on and involved with the volunteers and and communities served on an individual basis. The organization understands the physical, medical, educational and spiritual needs of the communities and dedicated to serving these needs. I have twice been on a trip to El Salvador with Together in Hope. The trip was very well organization and I felt that 100% of my time in two weeks was spent on the needs of those served from hands-on help to a deeper understanding of their cultures and challenges. Without reservation I continue to support Together in Hope with my time and money.

Jean, Thank you so much for such an honest review. You have been such a great supporter of Together in Hope since our beginning and we are so grateful to you!
After having taken two mission trips with Together in Hope, I can honestly say that this group is making an amazing contribution, specifically to El Salvador and the Philippines. I saw first-hand how lives were changed by this group and the people who volunteer with it. When I went with them to El Salvador, we worked with La Rosa Blanca, a small school in San Salvador. All the people there were so loving and accepting, it felt like leaving home when we finally had to come back to the States. While there, we built a kitchen, repainted the interior of the facility (outdoors) and drew in a brand new mural showing life in El Salvador. On my mission trip with Together in Hope to the Philippines, we contributed to that countries' well-being by creating relationships between local Filipino churches and their "outreach neighborhoods." Economically disadvantaged doesn't begin to paint an appropriate picture of how the families we served are living. In any case, it was an absolute pleasure to be there with the families and children and help to make a difference. Together in Hope is now in more than 3 local towns, feeding children on a weekly basis and sharing the hope and love of Christ with them all.

Micheal, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, we are so grateful for the support you have given us.
I was a volunteer physician for Together In Hope's first medical mission to El Salvador in January 2012. I went to El Salvador with a medical team and dental team. Overall, we saw hundreds of eager patients in 5 days. I've been on medical missions before, but this mission with Together in Hope was head and shoulders above the rest. I was so impressed with the eagerness and sacrifice of the entire team, from the administrative (Diane and Laura), to the laypersons who went along to translate, plan for a future medical clinic, and provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support. Together in Hope was simply the best all around group of people I've been involved with regarding medical missions, and this was their very first mission! The people of El Salvador are an unknown treasure. They have suffered from genocide and political oppression in the past, but today they are for the most part poor yet proud. They deserve to be proud. The family structure of the patients that we saw was incredibly cohesive: grandparents, parents, and children all came together to our makeshift clinic. These families reflected love for their children, their husbands and wives, and respect for their elders. The gratitude that these people expressed to our team was unmeasurable. All of us at Together in Hope were brought to tears of joy during this trip. If you are a physician, dentist, nurse, have any background in healthcare, or are simply a giving person, then I highly recommend that you volunteer with Together in Hope for future missions. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you will return a better and more grounded person.

Steve, thank you so much for such an honest and inspiring piece. We were so lucky to have you as part of this medical mission, thank you for patience and your hard work. You were such an essential part of the team and we are so grateful to have you on board.
My relationship with Together in Hope's sister organization Youth Release has been and continues to be one of the most rewarding experience's of my life. I spent a Summer in Ethiopia helping them with their work and I realised that, even in my short time there I had the opportunity to make a difference to their education and give them lasting memories of a happy childhood. While that Summer was a great experience, at the same time I know that my fundraising is being invested in the children's futures and the future generations of the community in Dire Dawa. What I love about the work that Youth Release does is that it is ongoing and they make such huge commitments to ensure that their work and investments benefit the children and the community on a long term basis. No one knows Dire Dawa as well as they do, their vision for the region is inspiring and they were brilliant in helping us with all aspects of the trip - preparation, fundraising, traveling, volunteering and maintaining lasting relationships. In the last year I have been traveling quite a bit but have felt that I can still keep track of everything that is going on through the emails I receive and the brilliant updates on the Together in Hope and Youth Release websites and newsletters. I can also continue to encourage family and friends to support Youth Release's efforts through the Christmas and Sponsor a Child campaigns. I'm proud to be a supporter of the Together in Hope nonprofit and it will always be a part of my life. From first hand experience I can say with confidence that the work that they do is tireless and very greatly needed and I will continue to support them in the future. DOS

Dei, Thank you so much for this wonderful review, we are so excited about this partnership with such a great organization. THank you for your continued support and dedication!
The joy of serving the Lord inspired me to work as volunteer at Together in Hope, many years ago at has been my mothers' desire to serve the Lord and opened our home for all church workers; All assigned deaconess in our local church stayed with us and considered them as member of our family, i'm sure it also contributed that I too, together with my two (2) younger sisters become a deaconess too. We found a tremendous joy and happiness in serving the Lord. When our parents' went home to God's arms, we thought that the mission ended. One day, Together in Hope mission came. The Lord is so amazing that many lives were touched by the Word of God. Together in Hope, does not only focus on children's ministry, its mission is growing bigger and wider because of different activities like: Bible study classfor adult, Literacy program for children, livelihood program for parents and out of school youth and feeding program (physical and spiritual) for all ages. The said activities are done from Monday to Saturday. Serving the Lord has no end.
"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord" - Joshua 24:15
To God be the Glory!

Ate becks, Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication in Bicol, without this project wouldn't exist and we are so grateful for all you have done to make our work possible!
youth release is an amazing charity. The founders Niamh and Laura are an absolute inspiration. The have taken on wht seemed like an impossible task and have made unbelievable progress in helping to change the lives of so many in Dire Dawa who otherwise, might not even be here today. I get goosebumps when I think of the girls and the extraordinary work they have done, they are an absolute inspiration and have made me so aware of what is happening in the Ethiopia. They are so young and have already done so much, I can't imagine what great things I will be saying about the, in another 20years, what they could achieve in that time is awesome! Youth Release deserve all the help they can get as they are a genuine charity improving the lives of so many. I hope to go to Dire Dawa and do what I can to help this fantstic charity.

Lisa, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our sister organization Youth Release. We are so excited to work with such a great organization.
I have been following Youth Release since it's infancy and have watched it grow steadily over the last number of years. The work and commitment of the volunteers is amazing and awe inspiring. What started off as a tentative plan for a Youth Centre for the street children in Dire Dawa the dream has now been realised due to the dedication and resolve of its founders Niamh and Laura Power and to the many volunteers who have given their time and energy to this project. Youth Release has made a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of children in Ethiopia and with the support and backing of all of us will continue to do very valuable work and help those children less fortunate to lead a better life.

Together in Hope 07/30/2012
Ann, Thank you so much for your great review of our sister organization Youth Release. We are honored to be part of something this wonderful and cannot wait to see its progress over the next number of years!
Great people. Amazing work. At The Spark Foundation we love Together in Hope!!

Together in Hope 07/30/2012
We love the Spark Foundation! Thanks guys!
The Together in Hope Foundation made me realized that I have 'time' when I thought I don't have the time.... "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called acording to His purpose." Romans 8:28
We went back to our home church, Bethany UMC, in 2007 after my father’s retirement from 50 years of glorious servanthood in God’s Kingdom. Around that time, the partnership between Bethany UMC and Together in Hope’s feeding ministry and Bible study class in Malis is so overwhelming with more than 300 children to feed physically and spiritually. My brother Nory and his wife, Abigail and my husband Jojo, together with Pastor Jordan and his family and a lot of other church members (except me!) are so heavily involved with the ministry; waking up as early as 4AM on Saturday mornings to go to the market, cook nutritious food for the children, and then go to Malis to teach the Bible and feed the children. I am only able to support occasionally due to my heavy workloads. It wasn’t until Pastor Jordan’s reassignment to a new church in June last year that God has called me to take over the supervision and management of the Malis Outreach Program and the Jessica’s table fund from Ate Malu. I was hesitant to accept the responsibility at first, because my job is too taxing and I am currently taking up advanced studies to further my craft – and I don’t think I have time for any more activities. I am glad I did (super thanks to Ate Malu’s powerful prayers!) because working with Pastor Diane and Together in Hope blessed me and my family by being part of the wonderful works of God in Malis.
Thank you so much Pastor D! It has been so wonderful and fulfilling to work with you. We may be serving God in another vineyard now, but it is our prayer that your ministry in Malis and throughout the Philippines will continue to expand for the glory of God.
May God bless you more so you may continue to be a blessing to others!

Together in Hope 07/26/2012
Lei, Thank you so making time to volunteer with Together in Hope. We are so so grateful for all you and your family have given to the Jessica's Table program. We are very lucky to have you guys as part of our team!
it was a great experience for me to worked with TOGETHER in Hope during their Medical,Dental Mission in Upper Javier way back in 2011. As one of the school nurse of Harris Memorial College it was a great opportunity to me to be one of those volunteers who helped our brothers and sisters who are in need especially with their health. I am so happy that i am with those people that made realized the needy people that God's love is just around them. Thanks for the ministry of the Together in Hope.

Together in Hope 07/26/2012
Thank you so much for volunteering with us and for making our medical/dental outreach possible.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.” – James 5:17. I consider TOGETHER IN HOPE as a wonderful gift from God and an answer to my prayers when I was still in Bethany UMC. The Bethany UMC is blessed to be the first of the now 4 mission areas of TOGETHER IN HOPE in the Philippines and in other parts of the world. Pastor Diane first went to the Philippines in 2007 to help in the construction of the Christian Education multipurpose room. Since then, the partnership between Bethany UMC & the TOGETHER IN HOPE continues. It started from building construction now to feeding nutritious food & conducting Bible Class to around 300 children every Saturday in Malis, a community of people relocated from living beside the railroad. It has impacted the lives of the community, the children & their family because through Bethany UMC & TOGETHER IN HOPE, they know that loves them & cares for them physically & spiritually.
My family & I are so blessed even now that we are in our new appointment because the relationship with Pastor Diane remained. She considered us as her family here in the Philippines & that’s one of the most amazing things that God has done in our lives. They’d been here in the Philippines for 5 times now. More than the health & education TOGETHER IN HOPE is offering to many people through Pastor Diane, it’s the sense of family relationship that matters the most. More than highlighting the events & mission outreach & ministry conducted from health to education & livelihood & trainings & seminars, the life-changing love of God extended through TOGETHER IN HOPE that transformed the lives of people being served is the most noteworthy of all!
Thank you TOGETHER IN HOPE and Pastor Diane for making us a part of your family & ministry! We love you dearly!

Together in Hope 07/25/2012
Pastor Jordan, Thank you for allowing us to be part of your community and part of your family! If it wasn't for you and Malu, our work in Bethany would not be possible. We are so grateful to you!
Last summer 2011, month of April i joined one of the outreach program of our school Harris Memorial College in partnership with Together in Hope. they conducted medical and dental mission, also health seminar, extension classes for the children, feeding and distribution of clothes and slippers for children in Upper Javier. i volunteered myself in teaching children particularly about being good steward of our health/body. after that class, together with the volunteers of Together in Hope we had our house to house visit distribute slippers and clothes for the needy children. through this project, many people were blessed and open their minds that they were not alone. that there are organizations like Together in Hope whose hands and heart is open to help them.

Together in Hope 07/25/2012
Thank you so much for dedicating your time to volunteer with us, we are so grateful to have you as part of our team in Upper Javier!
Together in Hope co-sponsored the 2011 Medical Mission in Laguna and Rizal, Philippiness on April 5-8. I led the team of 3 Physicians, 1 Physician Assistant, 2 Registered Nurses & 1 Social Worker; all from Texas. The team partnered with local volunteers of Medical Doctors, Dentist, Nurses, Ministers, Deaconesses and Teachers. Approximately over 500 patients were evaluated and treated by the team during the 3 day mission. The team provided Medical and Dental Outpatient Clinics to all age groups from pediatric to senior populations. Patient presented with various ailments including common colds, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, thyroid disease, measles, chicken pox, gastritis, first degree burn, skin disorders and teen pregnancy. We also treated cases of intestinal parasites, tuberculosis and cholera because most patients live in an unsanitary conditions. Our local Dentist worked solely and tirelessly. He provided tooth exatractions to over 100 patients in one day. The team provided medicines for up to one month supply. Anyone needing follow up were referred to the local government clinics. Our medical supplies and pharmaceutical needs were provided generously by Together in Hope and other co-sponsors.
Our day started with short prayer remembering that the ultimate healing comes from God and we are mere vessels of His love through healing.
It was indeed an amazing experience for everyone in the team. Each came with the spirit of passion and compassion to serve others. Often we take our blessings for granted namely, food, clothes, water and the accessibility to medicines and doctors. Most of the patients we treated waited for months, years or to some even a lifetime to have access to doctors and medicines because they simply cannot afford. It is amazing how we can make a difference in at least one life to alleviate suffering and give hope. Personally, I feel priviledged to have the opportunity to put faith in action. Matthew 25:40 reminds us that what ever you did to the least of your bretheren you did it to the King of all men. God wants us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We give all the glory and honor to God for what He has done to the Philippines through the Medical/Dental Mission Team. Without God and your support and prayers, it is impossible to achieve this great outcome.

Chat, Thank you for all your support. We are so happy to have you as part of our team.
Great People! Awesome projects.. Amazing concept and altogether WONDERFUL!

Together in Hope 07/23/2012
Thank you so much Denise and thank you for all your support!
It is both a joy and a privilege for me to be a volunteer in Together in Hope. I became a volunteer of this organization while we were in our previous church appointment in Bethany UMC when Ptr. Diane and the Bellaire UMC went to the Home Church of Ptr. Renato Santos in Bulacan, Philippines to help in building the Church's Multi-purpose Christian Education Room. Since then, the relationship & the ministry in the Philippines which started in Bulacan has grown & is now serving 4 communities in the country.
When I became a Pastor’s wife I thought that my ministry is just going to be to support my husband. Joining the Together in Hope team is a life-changing and spiritually transforming experience. It helped me realized that loving God would mean loving people.
We were all excited to wake up very early in the morning to go to the market to buy ingredients we need for cooking and preparing nutritious & delicious porridge for 300 children in Malis. We’re even more excited in teaching the children the transforming Words of the Bible & the Love of God that feeds them spiritually. Together in Hope is holistically reaching out to both the physical & spiritual needs of the children & also their parents. I was so happy leading the cell group or life group of the mothers of those children.
We are in our new Church appointment but still so much involved in educating, training & equipping the women through the G12 Vision: to Win the Lost & Make them Disciples; Purpose of Loving God & Loving People and the Goal of Making Every Believer a Leader of leaders. I will always carry in me the very thing I learned from Together in Hope: Being Passionate with/for God and Compassionate in reaching people for Him. All for the Glory of God

Together in Hope 07/24/2012
Malu, Thank you for all you have done and for allowing us to be part of your wonderful community. We love you guys and are so proud to work with you.

Eduard, Thank you for all your hard work, if it wasn't for local volunteers like you,our work would not be possible. We are so thankful to you!
Through the help of TOGETHER IN HOPE, they have given opportunity to children of Upper Javier, Brgy. San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, Philippines to enter into a formal preschool. The children together with their parents come to school 1 hour before the class to clean up the classroom. Parents are getting more conscious of observing and maintaining personal hygiene and good grooming through their preschool children who always remind them to cut their nails, bathe them, and assist in brushing their teeth. That is what parents are telling me. (Olive- Pre-school Teacher).

Together in Hope 07/24/2012
Olive, Thank you so much for everything you do! Thank you for volunteering your time and for making our work possible!
Through the Together in Hope project under the leadership of Rev. Diane, Harris Memorial College was able to reach out to pre-school children, community youth and women in Taytay, Rizal, Philippines. The community based-pre -school program serves the poorest of the poor children where feeding program is incorporated. In this way, children are provided nutritious food to help arrest malnutrition and mitigate hunger experienced by these children. In addition, personal hygiene is also being taught among pre school children. Through the sewing project initiated by Together in Hope in partnership with Harris Memorial College, community women earn their keep inside their homes giving women more time to earn and to take care of their small children. As a result, children's health and safety inside their homes are attended to. Through the medical and dental mission organized and participated by the Together in Hope medical team and volunteers in 2011, 250-300 medical patients and 120 dental patients were served. Simultaneously, seminars on preventive health care, first aid, and maternal and child care were conducted with Harris nurses and students as resource persons. Through these initiatives, Harris was able to revive and energize the health committee in the community level. We praise and thank God for what the Together in Hope is doing for the people of God among the urban poor communities in the Philippines.

Ange, We are so grateful to work with you at the local level and cannot thank you enough for everything you do and for inviting us into your community. We love you guys!
With an outstanding staff and group of volunteers both in the States and in El Salvador, Together in Hope has provided medical/dental teams to poor communities in El Salvador to provide medical and dental care as well as preventative health and hygiene classes. The organization is working closely with the Rosa Blanca School whose student population numbers around 300 to purchase the land on which will be built a health clinic, and new school, and community center. Best group I have worked with in 17 years of guiding international work teams.

Together in Hope 07/19/2012
Thank you so much, we are extremely lucky to have you as part of our team. Thank you for all your support!
I became aware of Together In Hope through Diane McGehee. Diane was Associate Pastor of our church. She is a very caring person with great leadership skills who truly wants to help others in need whether it is through building a school for their education, teaching them job skills, providing them medical care or simply bringing them closer to Christ. While I have not yet been on a mission trip with her, I hope to go in 2013. Nonetheless, I have talked to others who have been on a Together In Hope mission trip and clearly the work they do is a wonderful experience knowing how they are helping others less fortunate.

Together in Hope 07/16/2012
Thank you so much, We would love to have you volunteer on one of our trips. Thank you so much for all your support!
It's a great opportunity becoming a Together in Hope Volunteer for over 5 years now. I have joined 4 mission trips to the Philippines. The first time was in Dec 2008 where we took at least 21 youth and worked in an impoverished "slum" community called Malis. It was a transforming experience for everyone as we helped in the "Feeding Program" and provided education including proper hygiene and nutrition. Then I went back with an Advance Mission Team in 2010 to conduct an assessment of 4 communities with the goal of expanding the projects and conduct a national conference to recruit/train local partners. These were all materialized, when we took 3 mission teams including medical/dental team and held a national conference in April 2011 and launched the program to 3 additional communities. The projects has expanded from feeding/health & nutrition program to livelihood and early literacy/pre-school programs. Then I joined the return trip to with the team for Bicol community in April 2012 in w/c I was assigned to facilitate and conduct follow-up on the progress. And it's amazing how the projects has grown and have helped many families in the commmunities we serve. It's a real transformation of lives not only to the people we serve but for us volunteers and partners of Together in Hope.

Together in Hope 07/16/2012
Nida, If it wasn't for you, none of this would be possible, we are so lucky to have you as part of our team. Through your work, we have been able to achieve so much and we are so grateful to you.
Together In Hope is the answer to a prayer world wide. The programs change generations at a time. Not only are folks fed, but they are taught how to feed themselves. Volunteers work along side local leaders to reach those who have fallen through the cracks and who would have no opportunity for an education or to obtain job skills. The medical teams provide care that would be unattainable for countless people. Having made two trips to the Philippines - it was heartwarming to see how much better the children were doing this year over last, and I look forward to seeing the improvement continue next year.

Together in Hope 07/16/2012
Sharon, You are such a great asset to the Philippines team, and we are so grateful to have you on board!
I have worked with Together in Hope and experienced the organizations growth and impact in the world since its beginnings. During my first hand experience working and living in Ethiopia with their sister organization Youth Release, I was fortunate enough to help make an amazing impact on the lives of the local children that these people help every single day. In their hard work throughout Africa, the Philippines and El Salvador, the dedicated people who work for Together in Hope make the possibility of a brighter future a reality for every person who they come into contact with. Not only does their work around the globe significantly impact the lives of those they serve, but their continuous work also promotes awareness here at home along with providing life changing opportunities for people to share their lives with amazing cultures and peoples outside of their everyday experiences. The world is a much better place because of people like those at Together in Hope and with their help many people around the world will continue to have a chance at a brighter tomorrow.

I am very thankful with together in hope they really bring hope to my country.

I Volunteered and traveled to El Salvador in January of 2012 and found the people very loving, caring and prideful. Through Together in Hope and their people on the ground in San Salvador, our Team was able to Minister to the people with Medical & Dental patient services. I think all of us were Ministered by the people of Altos de Miraflores and my wife and I will continue to support Together in Hope in their Mission to feed children in Third World Countries. Grace and Peace, Dave Harris

Together in Hope 07/13/2012
Dave, You were an essential part of our medical mission in El Salvador and we are so grateful that you were part of our team and thank you for your continued support.
I am very fortunate to be part of Together In Hope. In January 2012, I had the opportunity to help people that lack medical resources and attention in a small, impoverished community in El Salvador. Every member of our team was responsible for providing quality medical care and ensuring that each patient went home with a smile of satisfaction. I assisted Dr. Barnes, one of the doctors in our team. He used his medical experience to care for each patient and advised on the importance of preventive health care. Many patients called him "the angel of the mission" because he was always willing to help in every need. I remember a family of four that complained about not having money for reading glasses, they told us that they enjoyed reading the bible together, but that because of the inability to purchase eyeglasses they had stopped reading the bible to their kids. Dr. Barnes opened his personal bag and gave them his two pairs of reading glasses. The family was very happy and thankful; Dr. Barnes and I were very satisfied with everything that we did for others. I really hope to be part of many future experiences that emphasize on helping those who are less fortunate in this world. Thank YOU!

Together in Hope 07/13/2012
Margaret, Thank you so much for your kind words. We would love to have you volunteer with us on one of our future programs. We thank you for your continued support!
I had an amazing experience in El Salvador helping coach and interact with kids. We donated equipment but they gave us so much more in return! It was extremely humbling to see these kids that don't have a lot to give continue to give gifts and share their food with us. They looked up to us so much from the first day that we met them. The excitement was very apparent from both sides, it is definitely a trip I will never forget. It continues to motivate and effect my life today in a very positive way. This is a great organization that does lots of good for kids in various locations around the world. I only hope to continue contributing in any way that I can!

Together in Hope 07/13/2012
Lyndsey, We were so lucky to have you as part of our team for the community outreach program to El Salvador in March 2011. The children loved you guys and always ask for 'los pirates' now.
