If only every American knew about POGO ; I love the outstanding work POGO does in exposing the fraud and money wasting that seems to provide my beloved American Government . The absurd waste of our taxpayer dollars that POGA reports on ; I find completely informing , frightening and madding . There is no more important and courageous , sunlite shinning , organization in America today than POGO ! Thank You. Ivan Sizemore , Bartlett , IL.
Every American needs a purpose much greater than themselves. After enduring a financial crisis that cost more than $13 trillion according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office, POGO stands above all others to conduct government oversight. POGO works diligently to ensure that federal programs are run properly, taxpayer dollars are spent effectively, and federal employees are treated fairly.
Government watchdogs entrusted to investigate waste, fraud, and abuse, and given the authority to hold leaders accountable for misconduct, fail the American public on a consistent and regular basis.
It's obvious that well-placed individuals and financial institutions continue to operate by a different set of rules than Main Street.
It's time to put an end to the influence by special interests on government officials implementing policies that have wrecked our economy and destroyed millions of lives. POGO is every American's call to action.
POGO works to make government of the people, by the people and for the people a reality. Strictly non-partisan, it has earned the respect of people on both sides of the aisle. POGO doesn't just unearth scandals, it proposes solutions. I have supported POGO's investigations into wasteful Pentagon spending for many years and consider it an outstanding organization.
POGO DOES A VERY GOOD JOB! I AM INFORMED OF ISSUES THAT AREN'T IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA....AND I WONDER WHY?...AND I DON'T LIKE THAT THEY ARE NOT!! MIKE
POGO provides a great service by providing information on wasteful and corrupt behavior in government.
I have been reviewing the literature on government spending for many years and found that NO OTHER ORGANIZATION is as well informed, articulate, easy to understand and, most importantly, influential as POGO.
Reading the reports gives me a sense of casi casi comfort knowing that some one is "on the job" protecting our interests as citizens and tax-payers.
Gracias y saludos,
POGO has informed me in depth of many things I never hear about through the main stream media. It is a watch dog we desperately need to let us know what is happening in Washington, DC. Thank you POGO!
I find POGO to be a very informative source and I frequently let my Congressmen know about its concerns.
Most U.S. taxpayers are too busy raising families, working at their jobs, and enjoying their few spare moments off. Therefore, someone should be vigilantly looking at the titanic amount of waste, fraud, and unscrupulousness committed in the name of, or at the behest of government, before and after any particular election cycle. The current IG framework is unsatifactory, and adds another cost on loss already incurred. The issue is not the complexity and transparency of any bureaucracy, but on greater flows of relevant information inside and outside private and public sectors ; enhancing the effectiveness of well-advised (rather than poorly advised )policymakers and subsequent self-correction of errors. Good government groups like POGO are a genuine step towards that end.
POGO really opens my eyes to Government waste and abuse. I do not see anyone else covering what POGO exposes. And the petitions they have show us they care about getting the issues they expose resolved.
POGO is unique in reporting information I don't find in the many e-newsletters I also read. I never just click it away because I'm busy.
This organization is invaluable in its extraordinary role as watchdog for the nations citizens. It's been exceedingly effective in its accomplishments. Since joining their email list about one year ago I've been extremely impressed with its reports and investigations, which have actually led to changes in the way our Government does business. I'm very very impressed with this organization.
I was delighted when I found POGO on the internet. I value fact-based information, not just advocacy. I'm a citizen who believes that the Pentagon and war are taking too much of our national treasury. The information POGO provides about the inner working of defense contracting, huge expenditures on poor hardware, and revolving door between defense and contracting is very useful.
I trust POGO's information. I read and research issues widely, and I have never seen that they have provided poor material or disinformation.
The Project on Government Oversight, Inc. can TRULY help the United States in the future to make sure our government is following our national standards. For example: Reduce global climate change, Avoid economic downturns by making sure the government is monitoring businesses to make sure they are following rules/laws, Preserve our natural environments, Improve public education so that children of all economic classes have an opportunity to be a successful adult, Improve air quality to avoid people from getting asthma and lung disease, Maintain women's right to choose, Make sure all states are following national laws including the separation of Church and State throughout this country (e.g. evolution should be taught in all public schools and if a public school teaches about one religion, they should teach about ALL religions), Legalize Marriage Equity throughout the United States, etc.
Because I subscribed online to Philanthropy News Digest more than a decade ago, I am more aware than most citizens of the increasingly dangerous decline of ethics in not-for-profit, non-governmental entities, a decline so significant that it renders some tax exemption into frauds upon the public.
The Project of Government Oversight's efforts help thwart those frauds.
I rely on POGO to keep me informed and continue its mission to promote government transparency and accountability. They are thorough, dogged and dedicated and a vital, much-needed force in the fight to restore "government by, for and of the people"... to the people.
I have been with POGO for several months. I find POGO has the interest of the people. POGO delivers information when the other media dismiss the information. I enjoy the information presented by POGO. They are accountable to the people.
The Project on Government Oversight provides much-needed information on government waste, fraud and boondoggles. They provide me with ways to get involved in making our government more transparent and responsible to "We the People".

I attempt to seek all types of information before I make my best informed decision on issues in our country.'s problems and possible solutions.
I have come to respect POGO 's viewpoints before my choice is made!
POGO is a necessary and useful action organization that keeps me informed about the "real" news. We need more oversight on what is happening that is not reported on the televised private media stations. I will continue to use POGO to keep informed and up to date on what is happening in our nation.
I appreciate getting emails from Project on Government Oversight, which keep me a little more aware of issues coming up concerning our government.
We need continued oversight on our government because it is no longer by the people. I would rather hear the truth than "both sides" (meaning Republicans vs. Democrats), which really leaves out the majority of "the people".
POGO is one of my very favorite charities. I agree with and support the goals and the program of activities of the organization. Their general mission, government oversight, is sorely needed. They get things done. I am particularly supportive of their whistleblower program.
I appreciate POGOs newsletters and information on the latest developments on government oversight. Without POGO, much of the information would never be revealed to the general public.
POGO is probably one of our very best watchdog to uncover government corruption and mismanagement. They are an invaluable trusted partner for government whistle-blowers and do a terrific job in bringing attention to issues in a non-partisan way.
I look to POGO to keep me updated about critical issues that I should be aware of. None of us have the time or ability to track all of the issues of importance to us. POGO provides well-researched and thoughtful articles and studies that I can trust. I watch every day to see what issues they are bringing forward, and have forwarded many issues to my state and congressional political leaders for the POGO site.
Always fresh and tp the point, POGO keeps us informed about the part of the news that doesn't appear in the regular media about the government and how it isn't always doing what is in the public's best interests. Sort of unintended consequences, possible downstream problems, as well as just plain poor decisions and policies.
I follow the news and politics on TV and on line. I appreciate that POGO gives me information about situations that I might otherwise miss. I trust the information I get from POGO.
It is my opinion that POGO provides an essential service in working towards an informed electorate.
Thank you, and keep up the great work!
POGO works very heard arriving at the reality of the communication processes of governmental organizations and structures. The details provided are critical in clarifying naming who is responsible and to what end. The accountability of entities with so much power and influence is foundational to promote democracy and the empowerment of the average citizen. POGO is doing a great job!
POGO's reviews and alerts are straightforward, well-researched, and very useful in understanding governmental policies and congressional activities.
POGO provides valuable information about what Washington politicians are up to, something you won't be able to find out about from the corporate media propaganda machine here in the U.S. In order to make decisions regarding important events regarding government affairs, POGO provides detailed and accurate information that can't be found elsewhere. POGO provides details that those of us who want to be in the know couldn't function without.
I worked in the federal government for 38 years and have a good idea about the effectiveness of NGO's. From my experience before retirement and afterwards, POGO is the best of the organizations trying to make the Federal government work better. From support of whistleblowers, to spotlighting congressional incompetence as well as congresspersons who try hard to do the right things, to identifying slippery expensive contractors to pointing out dangerous conflicts of interest, POGO has the integrity, facts and top quality staff to make a big difference. Their use of technology to achieve these ends is first rate and always seems to be ahead of the curve compared to many other NGO's. As a donor I know the money is well spent.
The Fourth Estate can no longer be trusted to watch our backs. POGO is one of the groups that has taken on that responsibility. I like POGO so much I may, someday, send them money.
Own government certainly needs plenty of oversite to keep us from the destructive activity of the big corporations that run our county and the world thru their money and lobbists hold on congress.
POGO maintens me active and informed about hot topics on regard our democracy. It keeps the pressure on Congress and the administration to enact meaningful reforms, such as recent legislation to protect whistleblowers and crack down on human traffickers.
Pogo is one of the most objective, non-partisan and detailed sites on the Web. If you want to know what is really going on in Government, this is one of the best sites to read. They have both courage and integrity.
What makes a government work? Checks and balances. Do we need them now? More and more every year. POGO is necessary and doing what it has set out to do extraordinarily well.
I was happy when I found POGO. They are tireless in exposing government fraud and waste. They are sorely needed. If the government won't or can't monitor itself, POGO is there. They dig deep into the issues and are not deterred. They perform an invaluable service.
Love POGO! As Every one knows, or is learning, if you want to know what's going on in Government, you have to Follow The Money! POGO gives great insights as to wher Your Tax Dollars are going, and if they are legitimate expenditures! They really dig out information 'we the people' need to know!
POGO does an excellent job of exposing the corruption that is so pervasive in our government, and they take action to resolve the malfeasance. this is one of the best charity's I support. They have helped taxpayers save millions upon millions of dollars in wasted expenditures.
I'm impressed with POGO's unbiased, professional approach to finding out the truth. I advise anyone interested in what's really going on to include POGO in their reading material.
Bringing forward the facts is vital when Lies are repeated over and over.POGO keeps the facts front and center.
No one is out there doing what POGO is doing! They are highly respected in their field, do killer investigations, and generally rock everyone's socks off.
After retiring as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, I learned about POGO and offered to volunteer my services. I have been doing that now for more than 5 years and find that the work I am able to do for this organization is the most rewarding of my career. This organization is committed to good governance not just in word but in deed. There is unsurpassed camaraderie in working tirelessly to make the federal government a government that is of the people, for the people, and of the people that adheres with integrity to the rule of law. I wear my association with POGO as a badge of honor.
POGO provides an incredibly important and much needed role in securing an open government. If history has taught us nothing else, it has shown the importance of keeping governments in check and keeping the public apprised of government action. POGO fights hard for our rights to ensure that history--in this country--will not repeat past mistakes.
I cannot imagine a more important organization in this political climate in the US this decade. I rely on POGO for critical information, to do the investigative work to ensure fact-finding, disclosure, and hopefully eventual transparency in the dealings of government and the entities it supports.
As a former Federal Inspector General lead agent I regularly follow POGO and its activities and find their oversight and reporting to be very important and accurate. I have donated to POGO and will continue to follow and support POGO's actvities to keep Government pure.
I support POGO because I've seen how things work in countries that don't have a POGO to keep the government and its contractors accountable. POGO keeps us true to ourselves and what we believe in, and it represents one of the essential foundations of American democracy.
There's no other organization doing the work that POGO does. It's an absolutely quintessential organization for our tax dollars and our democracy.
After finding POGO a little over 2 years ago, I highly recommend the organization as a trusted resource on government accountability and as a bull dog for the American public on fighting government waste and finding conflicts of interest in government contracts. They are nonpartisan and only think about how best to serve the public good. Second to none in investigative reporting and a standard bearer for whistleblowers everywhere. If you are looking for non-profit to donate money to for a worthwhile cause, you’ll be hard-pressed to find an organization that spends their money more wisely as they are one of the few to continue with a 4-Star Charity Navigator Rating! Sign up for their newsletter, friend them on Facebook, check with their site regularly and be a well-informed citizen.
POGO works to investigate misuse of government funds in a nonpartisan manner: they follow the money to get to the bottom of the story. And then they take this story to Congress in the hopes that change will happen. A great organization working on a Sisyphean task. Keep up the great work!
POGO has always impressed me. As a donor, I am extremely confident that my donations are used prudently (not only confirmed by my experience but also by their 4 Star Charity Navigator Rating). In addition, I am continuously blown away by this organization's discipline and management. They are not wishing washy; they stick to their core values. When I donate to POGO I know exactly what I am getting in return..,a non-partisan slant of the facts, good honest reporting, and a watchdog that ensures our government is more accountable, efficient, and transparent.
The Project On Government Oversight(POGO) is one of those rare organizations that is truly non-partisan, I know that their reports on government waste, fraud and/or abuse will always be fully vetted, factually correct, and developed in the spirit of their mission: to improve the workings of our government. POGO has become not only my go-to source for research and information, but has become a real champion for everyone who wants and needs accurate and informative data.
I have worked with POGO in several capacities and have always been incredibly impressed by their backbone in taking on special interests, their dedication to transparent and responsible government, and the thoroughness of their work product. POGO transcends the typical partisanship normally associated with think tanks, instead focusing on the facts rather than the spin. I am a regular contributor, and feel like I get an awful lot for my buck. Keep up the excellent work.
