After six months I truly I am glad I joined this group and great organization. It truly as helped me lean more of the pain I go through daily and speaking to others and helping one another. The talks over the phone is wonderful and so much help. Thank you for being here for me and the many others I am sure you are helping.
I have lived with chronic pain for 15 years now and as a person who suffers with several life altering conditions that cause constant pain every day, I actually stumbled across the pain community by accident, so I thought at the time. I wasn't going to stay in the chat because I felt it wasn't for me and 1 particular member convinced me to stay and come back the next day. I did because really deep inside it was the first time that SOMEONE cared about me and understood the horrific pain that I was in!
I had lost my marriage, friends, employment etc. because of the pain I had daily and I had a daughter that suffered in other ways because she had a mother who had to be medicated all day every day just to survive. Over the course of a few months I found a forever family. Still to this day I have a fantastic pain family who supports not only me but my family members as well.
Many of us have grown very close and have even made it a priority to get together in person on several occasions, and I know that if I am ever in dire need, in pain, need an opinion, need to vent or just lonely I can call, come to this website, facebook, and I can get immediate support 24/7. I owe my life to my Painiac family and I can't imagine a day in my life without them.
Thank you to all the painiacs who have made my life worth hanging on to. Thank you to those I may not know but have prayed for me or kept me in your thoughts. It is wonderful to know you have a place to go! I pray that we can continue sites like this one that can reach out to many others who are in pain or even have similar sites for other problems in peoples lives!
My mother lived with chronic pain for the last 10 years of her life. The folks of the pain community were a blessing for her and for me. Although these folks have been associated and supportive under other organizational names, they have maintained the integrity of the group and supported the dignity and integrity of those in pain. I salute them. I thank them.
Being alone when you are sick or hurt is horrible. Having a chronic pain condition means you are both. The Pain Community is a wonderful place of refuge for those of us who deal with devastating pain 24/7 (and for those who just have it bust in on their lives once in a while, too). Here there is always someone comforting another and when you reach out, many who respond quickly and support with whatever it is that you need in comfort and help. I love them!
The Pain Community is here to help those in pain find their voice and speak out for compassionate, quality and just treatment of pain. They have chat rooms for those who need to talk to someone about what they are going through. Blog posts that stimulate discussion on a variety of topics related to Pain and the management of pain. Educational materials to help inform and educate the person in pain and the general public. Discussion forums and a lot more. I support The Pain Community as a volunteer and serve on the steering committee. I receive a lot of personal and group support and I am kept up to date with the latest news and research on pain issues. This is not a place to whine about pain...it is a place to advocate for self care and advocate for the best treatment possible for your pain. If they don't know the answer they will hunt for it until they find it.
Excellent community for chronic pain. Have received so much support from everyone and haven met a few fellow painiacs!!!! Ive made it through some tough times with this community of people and hope ive returned in kind. Excellent! !
The Pain Community is a great organization for emotional and educational support. Plus it is a non-judgmental place to be able to "vent" with others experiencing similar issues.
This is a great and growing organization for people like me who live daily with unspeakable pain. It gives good information, & good support for those in pain as well as their caregivers.
