I'm so glad I joined NSCS! In a tough year, it has been a source of education, connection and hope. They truly care about students and offer a wide variety of resources: classes, events, scholarships, mentors, leadership summits, partnerships with other organizations (e.g., resume reviews, internships, jobs, etc). They will support you and push you to excel.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars welcomes its members with open arms and is not only a chance to meet others across campus, but is a way to create change within the community. As an upcoming officer for the 2019-2020 school year, I am more than excited to take charge and get others to be informed of what is going on at DePaul University through the NSCS program!

NSCS has always been an amazing organization that I have been involved in. This organization allowed me to build relationships with other members and serve my community. After being a member for two years, I became a member of the executive board and enjoyed leading the members in my chapter.

Joining NSCS my freshman year was one of the best decisions I made in my college career! Without NSCS, I wouldn’t have had the courage, growth, and leadership skills to be my chapter’s Social Media VP last year, and continue to impact NSCS and my community this year as Chapter President and Social Media VP again!

Many opportunities are provided ranging from scholarships to grants and leadership lessons. So grateful to be apart of this wonderful organization. It brings college students everywhere great opportunities you can't find anywhere else. Not only that, the NSCS allows you to take an active role in your college's community. I am currently the Vice President of Community Service at NSCS and get to meet people I would've never had the chance to meet if I didn't join.

I am so beyond excited to have been chosen as the new President for the Morehead State University chapter of NSCS! I cant wait to be in a position to further recruit and engage students in becoming involved with this amazing organization! NSCS involvement is a great way to increase your leadership skills, network with other academically driven students, and participate in community service activities! I recommend all students take part in their local NSCS chapter to elevate your college experience! Joining this organization at the University of West Georgia has made an impact on my leadership and social skills. I am now apart of the executive board as the Social Chair. I look forward to taking on this leadership being that this is my first officer position. Being a member of NSCS has allowed to meet new people and do things I never thought I would do. I look forward to my future with NSCS!

As a freshman, I was a little bit lost and did not know how to get involved. I joined this honor society and I can’t wait to experience all of the events they offer and the people I’ll meet. I also became an officer to help out and just have a little more fun. This is a great opportunity for me to grow and be even more successful during my collegiate years!

This will be my first year as member of the Board of NSCS. Even so, I have known this organization since I joined the Honors Institute, because of several friends that were part of it. Undoubtedly, NSCS offers great opportunity for Honors students to access scholarships and to develop their leadership skills. If you just joined college, or the Honors institute, please, consider joining NSCS.

When I joined NSCS, I had no idea how much I would grow from the experience. I am now the Vice President of social media at the Southeastern Louisiana University chapter. At my chapter, we have had many opportunities for service projects. Most recently, a group of members cleaned up the grounds of a church. Pictures of this event art shown below. We have also had many opportunities to form a community between the group members. At the last meeting of the school year, to reward members for their hard work, we had a party with food from canes and a drawing for an AMC gift card.

I was invited almost 6 years ago to be part of this society, I have my doubts and check what is about. I really like the activities so I joined, but the real journey through the NSCS began. I participated in the PACE program for my first two years, love what they do mentoring students talking about how to get to college when I have some much trouble trying to apply I feel part immediately with this cause. Then I have my first travel ever participating at ScholarCon. I meet so much people and the speakers have so much sense and to learn about. But I want more, so in my junior year I applied for a officer board position in my Chapter first was to be a VP of PACE program but the plans where different for the officer leaving. They nominated me for the Chapter President position I was afraid and really nervous but I accept. For three years I was a Chapter President learn a lot, help others to improve the leadership in their lives, to accept challenges. During my time we became platinum award recipients at my first year. Also received Merit Awards for our PACE program and connections and campus collaboration. We each year inducted almost over 200 members and have a increase the participation of members over +65%.

I love so much the experience I have at the NSCS and hope that others see the opportunities they bring to honor students to embrace their leadership at the profesional and personal level.

It has truly been an honor to have been part of such an amazing organization as a member and officer throughout my four years of college. The day I accepted my membership into NSCS at the Florida Atlantic University chapter was a very fulfilling experience knowing I would not only be recognized for my academic achievements but for my leadership, service, and scholarship which are the three pillars NSCS stands by. I knew I wanted to become an officer and would always look up to becoming Chapter president on day; therefore I applied for an officer position and began as Star-Status Coordinator then became Vice President and worked my way up to Chapter president my senior year. NSCS opened up so many doors during my college career which allowed me to network with so many like-minded individuals, go above and beyond in community service, get so many scholarship opportunities, and allow me to have the honor to lead my chapter to success. One of my most memorable events is when I was given the honor to meet the CEO and founder, Steve Loflin and my chapter advisor Holly Hankin at the Miami meet up event where I, as chapter president gave a speech exemplifying everything my chapter has done to be recognized. The scholars I met along the way helped me succeed in my path during my undergrad years and now becoming and Alumni Advisor will continue to build my skills as a leader and become a helpful asset for my NSCS family at FAU.

As a senior at the University of Louisville, I have been a part of many organizations and participated in many events. NSCS is by far my favorite. I love the people, the service events we do, the member benefits we have like resume workshops and scholarship opportunities. This year I have the privilege of being an officer, so I get to do more hands on work with the organization. I’m looking forward to the upcoming year and would recommend that anyone who has the opportunity to join, joins!

As a freshman at the University of North Florida, I worked really hard and excelled in my academics, but was looking for my place in the school's community - this is where I found The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (or I should say it found me). I was exremely proud that my achievements were paving opportunities for myself and excited to find a place at my school which I felt fit me as an individual. NSCS recognizes the leadership, responsibility, and honor of all of its members. As a member I was not only thrilled to receive the benefits this honor society has (like discounts for car insurance and much more), but also for the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals at my school. NSCS works with Active Minds, an organization dedicated to raising mental health awareness, which I think is really important for college students. After seeing the potential and reach NSCS could make on its members and the entire campus at UNF, I decided to run for the board. I got the position and am looking forward to an awesome year building The National Society of Collegiate Scholars at UNF up into something that is more well known and create real connections with the board and members.

It's been an incredible experience and knowing that I am a lifetime member makes me happy because I know I can apply for scholarships as an alumni and I've created a circle of close friends and great opportunities. I loved being a part of Outreach love through NSCS and helping tutor at risk youth throughout the year. I also enjoyed the different organization collaborations and constant encouragement and communication. Now I get the chance to be an officer and help encourage incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and transfer students alike who decide to join this amazing honor society.

My college years have been lonely but the NSCS always has my back. A while ago I took the opportunity to study at Harlaxton College in the UK and was further isolated from the environment I had just acclimatized to. when I was feeling low, I, thankfully, started receiving emails regarding my induction ceremony with family welcomed. Though I could not attend, I felt very much included as I was not forgotten even across an ocean. It is good to belong somewhere.

I joined NSCS during the Spring 2019 semester and I didn’t know anyone in the chapter, but when elections came around the officers pushed everyone to take a chance on running. I’m not very outgoing, so running for an officer position scared me, but now I’m proud to say that I’ll be the 2019-2020 secretary for my chapter. I’m excited to bring that same energy of pushing members to be their best this year.

My initial reason for joining the NSCS was because I thought it would look good on my resume. After joining I found that looking good on a resume wasn't the only thing that the NSCS offered. There were so many leadership and volunteer opportunities available to members that I otherwise would not have ever known about. And they even offer scholarships to eligible members so that you're academic potential isn't limited by financial circumstances. The NSCS really strives to make a positive impact on their members lives and the lives of those around them. That's what makes them a great nonprofit. They not only care about the lives of their members, they also do their best to improve the world around them.

"Tell me who you hang around with and I will tell you who you will become". That's a general saying that I find to be quite true. In college, finding driven scholars who value academics is definitely important. This is true in both establishing friends who will help push you to become your best, as well as having slightly older mentors for guidance through college, especially when coming in as a wide-eyed freshman. NSCS is the perfect place for this. It helps you meet high-quality people who push and encourage you to become better. In addition, going into NSCS leadership is very rewarding, as there are multiple ways to make an impact whether it's organizing community and charity events, marketing through social media, or managing communications. I personally, have found it to be one of the most rewarding clubs at my campus at Chapman University, allowing flexibility to come and go to the events when I'm available as well as providing strong encouragement and enthusiasm.
This is not even mentioning the scholarships and discounts which although not out-of-this-world fantastic, are pleasant perks as well.
