Well, I am a medically retired/ Permanently disabled U.S Army Veteran. I have served three combat tours in Iraq, and numerous missions to the continent of Africa. I had almost 16 years in before the injuries I had sustained from an I.E.D, rendered me no longer useful to my U.S. Army. It's been a difficult transition, a transition I still haven't succeeded in. With financial woes starting to get the best of me, and my vehicle continuously getting worse. I had no clue what I was going to do. I don't have the financial means to fix my vehicle, and no family that could help or loan me the money to correct the problem. So, I started to surf the web through my phone and came up on the website, which is and was a Godsend! The Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund website. I am not a soldier who likes to ask for help but what could I do in this situation? So, I called the phone number and spoke with Dr. Lynn Phillips , executive director of the Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund (FWSF). She was understanding and caring. The shame I was feeling for having to swallow my pride and ask for assistance quickly dissipated as she spoke to me and put me at ease with my situation. I can tell you that Dr. Lynn Phillips, the Board Members and all the local businesses and volunteers that help and donate to the foundation are kind and generous people. They gave me the financial assistance to fix my vehicle, they handed me a life line right when I needed it the most. I honestly can't begin to express how appreciative I feel and how grateful I am to and for the FWSF. Thank you and I pray that our Lord may continue to bless the FWSF and help my brothers and sisters in-arms who come to seek assistance from the FWSF.

Getting out of the military has been one of the toughest life challenges I have yet to face. One hardship leads into the next, battling with PTSD and giving everything I have to be a good father. I have so many dreams and a ton of ambition, with everything going on in my life and the never ending struggle it has be tough to focus on myself and my personal goals. I have worked with plenty of different agencies for just any kind of assistance to get back on track, and honestly I lost faith. I lost faith that being a veteran even meant anything. Of course I am proud of what i did for our country, but that feeling that no one else "really" cares, or that what I did was just another average Joe in an average life doing average things really hurts. I don't remember exactly how or why I got into contact with "Dr. Lynn Phillips" and The Fallen and Wounded Soliders Fund, but since the first telephone call she was absolutely amazing. It is very difficult to fully express and explain how deep my gratitude runs. Not only did she assist me with getting into a new home, she was there for me. It was more than a few phone calls and connecting the dots. She went far beyond her job specifics, and made me feel like I was important again. This was the first time that an organization has truly cared, it was never about just getting me the assistance I needed and getting me off the phone. Throughout our entire time spent resolving my current hardship, she made me feel safe and secure. More than anything I feel like I gained a friend. Thank you so much Lynn and your organization. One day I am going to help veterans, and I will know exactly how I want to do that because of you.
my hisband is a viet nam vet and we were in need of some major truck repair. Dr. Lynn Phillips made it possible for us to get the truck fixed. She is a wonderful woman and a pleasure to work with . thanks to the fallen and wounded soldiers fund we now have much needs transporation.
My name is Randi Foust. I am a Marine Corps Veteran. I have had 5 knee surgeries over the last 5 years through the VA. With the last 2 occurring within the last 3 months. This left me with very limited finances and in jeapordy of having some of my utilities shut off, as well as not being able to provide for my niece who resides with me and is a junior in high school. The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund not only prevented my water from being shut off, but they assisted me in being able to buy groceries. At all times the staff was compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated. I am so very grateful for their assistance and highly recommend them as a resource to my fellow Veterans.
The Wounded Soldiers Fund helped our family during one of the toughest times of our life. After service connected medical problems caused me to lose my job the weight of the world came down on us, bills too many to pay and no help in site. Then those at the Wounded Soldier Fund stepped in and helped us out! Now we can make it another month and know that our home and family of six are safe and warm. Thank you so much from the bottom of our heart and for serving those who have served this great country. We are grateful for your generosity!
The FWSF is a great group of of the most caring people that I have ever met! They are attentive to the needs of Soldiers in special situations. In my experience, the staff is very professional and efficient. They made me feel like they truly cared and I believe that they do! A special thanks to Mrs. L.P. for her listening ear and understanding heart!
I was briefly unemployed and fell behind on my mortgage along with other bills and the fallen and wounded soldiers fund got me caught up on my mortgage I dont know if I would have been to ever get caught up but they took care of it relieving so much stress on me and my family. Thank you so much.
The Fallen & Wounded Soldiers Fund saved our lives! My husband was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan and kept getting sick and the army finally medically discharged him and misdiagnosed him with Asthma. This October he got so sick he had to be rushed to a hospital 5 hrs away and was admitted 15days and that day and diagnosis changed our lives. We both were forced to quit our jobs and we travel monthly 10 hrs away to get Chemo and see his drs. He was admitted again for 15 days because he developed a blood clot in his heart. This organization took all the stress and worry about money off our hands and helped us so much financially as well as being there for us and lending a listening ear. I was able to be with my husband every step of the way and care for our 4 kids. We cannot thank them enough!
My name is Alex Szakacs and my wife is Becky Szakacs. We moved to Michigan back in 2014 and have been fighting with the Veterans Affairs ever since. I served in the U.S. Army in the infantry, was hurt while in Afghanistan, and then medically discharged. In late December 2015 my knee completely blew out (which was part of my service connected injuries) and I wasn't able to work anymore. I had my first spine surgery scheduled in March 2016 previously to this happening. The VA refused to pay me an increase in disability till after surgery is actually done. So for the first few months of 2016 we lost most of my income and started in a downward spiral. After having my surgery on my spine in March, my wife got into a car accident in June to which now she is out of work and possibly going to need a spine surgery too. Then in October I finally had my ACL replaced after months of struggling to have the VA send me outside as the VA doctors had continued to tell me I was not hurt. I now am having another spine surgery March 2017 because the first one was not successful.
So during all of this we had many issues finaicially and by the grace of God we found the Fallen And Wounded Soldier Fund. They have saved my family from
becoming homeless and losing everything!!! This is the best organization we have ever been a apart of. They are also the only group, organization of any sort, or program that was wiling to help us before losing everything. Most things that are out there are for after the damage is done and it's to late. Their are some major organizations out there that are very popular but are not willing to help at all.
Bottom line is we will be apart of this nonprofit organization for the rest of our lives, not only have they helped us financial but the people you will meet through the events are amazing. You meet other veterans and their families but also so many ther people. Some of these people are the volunteers that make all this possible which they do on their own time, on their own dollar to give back to people in need. Thank you so much Fallen and Wounded Soldier Fund for everything.
What an amazing program!!! I had fallen on financial hardship and my vehicle broke down, leaving me unable to provide food for my child and make it to regularly scheduled doctor appointments. I had reached an ultimate manic depression and considering giving up I gave effort to see if there was help out there for a veteran like myself and the fallen and wounded soldiers fund got me back on track mentally and financially by helping with my vehicle insurance policy for 6 months and payed for the repairs of my vehicle. I am so thankful and grateful for programs such as this, this organization honestly saved my life and has impacted my mindset forever. THANK YOU!
My husband was honorably discharged from the marine corps with him only needing 5 more years til he could retire, it has put us in a very tight spot having to move across country back where our family lives to get back on our feet again. The Fallen & wounded soldiers fund has been amazing and has helped us out a lot. I can't thank you all enough for all you have done for us. Sincerely
Ron and Tina Irwin
We were struggling during a gap between classes, and they assisted us.
This nonprofit organization goes above and beyond for the soldiers that run into financial issues and more. I have struggled financially many times over the years due to my injuries and they have been there to help me as much as possible. I owe so much to Lynn Phillips and this organization. They don't make you wait for help and they treat you with respect and importance. Many organizations turned me away or never contacted me when I asked for help. The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund has been there from day one and I hope to one day be able to donate to their organization because I know that they are definitely helping soldiers and their families. Thank you so much!!
The Fallen Wounded Soldiers Fund, have been extremely helpful to me in my time of need. Dr. Lynn Phillips is a GODSEND! GOD bless her and the organization!

The fallen and wounded soldiers fund has helped me out tremendously when I was down on my luck with no one to turn to. I'm a marine veteran and I have contacted Lynn Phillips quite a bit since finding out about this organization. But I now have a job but I know if things ever get hard for me again I know I can count on this organization for a helping hand.
As a former vet I've had suffice to say some challenging moments both in and out of service. By Gods grace He has always had an open door of love for me that has helped. One of those doors is Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund. After a chat they helped my situation and lightened my load without question. They were recommended to me through Active Faith and Liv. Cty Veterans. They help service members. God Bless them abundantly they're top notch and care about service men and women.
Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund was there for me when other organizations said I didn't meet their requirements. I don't know where I'd be today without the help and guidance of such a wonderful organization.
