We had the best adoption process and we are happy with our new addition. He has four human sisters to spoil him and it is so exciting to see him develop his little personality as he settles in. Texas Chihuahua Rescue made everything so easy, and matched our family up perfectly with little Indy. All of his paperwork was organized and up to date and made our first vet visit easy! Highly recommend this rescue!
I just want to say thank you so much for all you do. My little Acadia is everything and more than i expected . She is a real sweetheart. Not much of a barker, loves to give lots of kisses, and she knows when to go potty. She is friendly to everyone. She loves her walks.
I would definetly recommend this rescue , they love these little animals and take so much care for them. I can't say enough. Anyone wanting to adopt please do. Thank you all, for caring for these beautiful animals. If it wasn't for you i don;t know where little Acadia would be.
Very impressed with Texas Chihuahua Rescue Inc., - from their first contact, the interview and explaining the process this charity bar none cares about animals. I was hesitant to use them as I'd NEVER heard of them, called PETSMART Charity to confirm they were legit and they confirmed. Texas Chihuahuha Rescue Inc - THEY WERE absolutely 100% the real thing, an organization that is passionate and caring about the animals they are helping. The description of the dogs is spot on, as a dog owner I can tell that the foster parents were wonderful socializing and training the dogs (as much as they could in a foster home). My little guy is very submissive which was perfect for my old French bulldog. He's healthy, has had initial heel training and is coming along so beautifully - he knows his new name and LOVES his big brother. Thank you Texas Rescue!! Keep on the wonderful work :)
This is a rescue that truly cares. They are well-organized, responsive and informative. A special shout-out to the Hamilton Ontario chapter. I'm sure they work tirelessly to make sure these little guys find their forever homes. My little Bee is the sweetest dog ever! She felt right at home instantly and loves her new big brother, snow and visits to Grandpa. I share my story with everyone.
Texas Chihuahua Rescue really know their Chih's and have their best interest to heart. I hope to help out our Canadian chapter this fall.
Thank you everyone at TCR!!! ♥
I adopted Arnold/Yuki when learned in Facebook that he was from a puppy mill and he has been in a kennel for more than 3 years. His condition was a disaster according with the picture taken at the time. I decided adopt him knowing a dog no socialized as a puppy is going to be very difficult to adapt to a normal life, and even when is being a challenge for my ordered life with two older pets, the life with my new baby has been very rewarding. I am very happy with my dog and he is learning quickly. Now he learned to be in and out through the dog door, enjoys walks in the park, eats and sleeps very well. He still has a lot of things to learn, but I am sure he is a happy dog. I am glad to be part of Texas Chihuahua Rescue.
I would recommend this agency to anyone considering adopting a pet.
They are very efficient and follow through on all they say they will do.
I and my adopted doggy, were treated with importance and the utmost
respect. So good to know that these are people that can be trusted.
Thank you so very much.
TXCR Rock! They were amazing to deal with through the whole adoption process. Tons of communication to keep me in the loop on what was needed, next steps and how to be prepared. They do amazing work and you can tell they really care about their dogs and the families that are adopting. They were kind, patient and knowledgeable and I enjoyed my experience so much I'm keeping in touch with our coordinator and am considering becoming a volunteer with them.
Honestly, the only hard part was waiting for our new fur baby to arrive from Texas!
Thanks TXCR. You guys are awesome!
The adoption process was easy to follow and they were very quick to process the application. Communication and pictures were provided so you could watch your new family members final journey home. We adopted such a sweet little dog. She is very healthy and happy. Pick up day had so much positive energy, and there were tears of happiness. I am extremely happy and hope by recommending this rescue to other we can help save more lives.
TXCR is an amazing nonprofit filled with love and dedication to rescue homeless dogs! The volunteers always answer my questions in a timely fashion and with professionalism. This is my first time adopting a dog and I am glad I chose to help a dog in need from TXCR.
We adopted Sparrow March 2017. The experience was seamless, organized and very professional. These people run a very amazing organization and do it with a smile.
I adopted a dog from this group and the experience was amazing. What these people do for these dogs and how respectful and kind they are is truly admirable, so much so that I am now a volunteer with them. Highly recommended!
A month ago i was looking for a dog. My dog had died suddenly from heart failure. I came actoss Texas Chihuahua Rescue on the web. It is a wonderful caring organization. I adopted Zumba which i later changed to Claire. The people that transported her to us in Connecticut were great also. We are so happy with our girl. We just love her so much. We brought her to our Vet to get her established as a patient. They said she was in perfect health and well cared for. TCR is the absolute best rescue.
Our 16 year old chihuahua passed away on October 30, 2017. We were heartbroken as was his 8 year old chihuahua "sister". Finally, in February we decided to adopt another chihuahua. I had heard about Texas Chihuahua Rescue from a friend and contacted them online. I filled out an application and we were interested in a specific little dog. Our application was approved a couple days later, but by then the first little dog had been adopted. We decided to go to Petsmart where Texas Chihuahua Rescue is most Saturdays. We found Joey (previously named Doyle), a chihuahua mix. He is a great addition to our family and the entire process was very efficient and organized. I high recommend this group. TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION, PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE HELPING DOGS! I am so thankful and grateful for this wonderful dog that came to us. Exactly the personality as described. A big thanks to whoever fostered this young dog, you did a great job. A big thanks to Shirley as well for keeping us is the loop and getting us in and out so quick so that I could make it to work as well. Totally thankful for all TXR's co-operation! Many thanks!
We found TXCR to be very friendly and helpful when providing information about the adoption process. As a Canadian family adopting from an American Charity, we had many more questions about the process. TXCR representatives was always available and willing to answer any questions. At our first vet visit, our vet was very impressed with what the rescue had done for the pup prior to our adoption. Our family was so happy with our first adopted pup and the adoption experience that we adopted a second pup a few months later.
I started looking for a rescue dog to adopt and I came across Texas Chihuahua Rescue website. I read their story and was very impressed and grateful that such wonderful people are out there rescuing these beautiful dogs. My application process went fairly quickly and I was approved to adopt within a couple of days. On the website I found my sweet little Diego (aka Shaq) who is only 4.5 lbs and a wonderful dog. My adoption fee included his neutering, all vaccinations, microchip and transportation to Canada. I am so happy that I was able to find Diego, he is a wonderful dog who loves to cuddle and play with his fur brother.
Thank you Texas Chihuahua Rescue and all the volunteers who take the time for these wonderful dogs.
In October I adopted my 10 years young chihuahua Mattie from TCR. I am an advocate of dog adoption and rescue, and wanted to adopt an older dog, but I quickly got discouraged by the alarming number of puppies or young dogs for adoption through other rescues. A woman I work with adopted her dog from the TCR, so I decided to have a look at the dogs for adoption in my region. The TCR web site is an excellent resource. They provide colour photos of all the adoptable dogs, with a detailed description about their age, background and temperament. I filled out their on-line adoption form and was impressed at Maureen's quick response to my email. She answered all my questions immediately and within 48 hours of filling out an application TCR had contacted my references and emailed me about a home visit. Within days a lovely volunteer visited my home to confirm that I am not a hoarder or running a puppy mill. I was so pleased at their attention to the needs of the animals after adoption. The adoption fee is slightly higher than other rescues ($500) but worth every penny for the peace of mind it brought me to have someone take care of all the details. Pick up is at a local cafe and when I arrived I was greeted by a throng of tiny dogs and a warm welcome from their owners, many of whom are also volunteers. It was a relaxed atmosphere, organized chaos, but such a great introduction to my new dog. I continue to enjoy Maureen's email messages and updates about TCR. I would like to get more involved when time allows because they are the best adoption organization I have ever worked with. Until then I am enjoying the newest member of my family who has been such a blessing. I have Texas Chihuahua Rescue to thank for connecting me with this lovely girl (see attached Mattie's first Christmas in Hamilton).
In February of 2017, we were looking to expand our family with the addition of another dog. We found the Texas chihuahua rescue online and got in contact with a volunteer in Hamilton. The volunteers helped with all our questions and concerns so we would feel supported and comfortable with our decision. We are so appreciative of their role in helping us find the perfect fit for our family and their continued support. It feels like we didn’t just add a new member to our family but the rescue group welcomed us into theirs.
Our experience with Texas Chihuahua Rescue was amazing. Right from the first point of contact with a volunteer. We adopted a sweet little dog that is perfect for our family and we can’t imagine life without her now. We really feel that we have helped to save a life and the volunteers at Texas Chihuahua Rescue make you feel that way. They’re an amazing organization that helps so many animals and I truly feel that any animal is lucky to end up with them. We are grateful for what they did for our little girl and very grateful for all the other animals they have saved. Thank you for all your heart filled work and we hope you continue to get support from lots of good people!
We adopted Finnegan aka Guppy in August 2017. Texas Chihuahua Rescue made the whole process so easy and smooth. We were able to communicate with his foster mom and see pics and videos while we waited for him to come to Canada. We absolutely adore Finnegan, he has been an unbelievable addition to our family! One thing I have to say is Finnegan is not happy with the cold weather here in Canada lol...always has a coat or sweater on when going out.
