We have adopted 2 adorable Chis from TCR,I and have not regretted either adoption. We adopted ChaCha 2 years ago after loosing our precious Chiquita. We recently adopted a Senior Chi, Evie. ChaCha was adopted as a Therapy dog for my husband who had been diagnosed with Anxiety and she visits him in the hospital when he is there. She is a Beautiful, smart and Loving little Chi. I When I saw Evie's picture she just tugged at my heart and I knew she would live the rest of her years with us in Utopia Texas. She is deaf and probably around 14 years old. She barks at us when she needs to potty or eat. Her big round eyes follow us everywhere. ChaCha & Evie love to play "Chase Mz Kittie" Evie still haven't decided about Big dog brother, Bear & Big dog Sister, LOla and just watches BIG cat Brother Turk. When she sees me in the kitchen, she follows me and watches me with those Big Beautiful Black eyes. She has taken to our home as if she had lived here her whole life. We love both our girls. TCRI is an incredible group of loving humans, doing an impossible job trying to ease the suffering of some of the Homeless dogs. If you're contemplating getting a Chihuahua or any pet PLEASE RESCUE instead of buying. Too many Homeless dogs & cats get put down.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue is by far the most incredible group of compassionate people I have ever encountered. I adopted a little chi from Texas and he was safely transported all the way to Burlington, Ontario just a few days ago. During the adoption process, after the adoption was confirmed, and even after my little chi's arrival, Texas Chihuahua Rescue continued to support and walk me through everything. They are so easy to communicate with and try their hardest to be there when you need them, or even when you don't need them! They check in with me to see how everything is going. I'm so grateful to be a part of their extended family! And I love my Chi, Kalvin!

I wasn't really looking for another furbaby. But I came across your facebook page. And just couldnt resist. I applied for one of the chihuahuas. But he was adopted to another family. I was just a little sad. But then there she was. Journey AKA Farah. Oh she was so stinking cute. So I thought... Should I apply again for this one? So I did. I got "the phone call" Lots of questions. And rightfully so. Wouldnt have wanted it any other way. Tamie was so nice. So I waited. And then. I get another phone call. I was able to adopt Journey. I was so happy. She has been a blessing. We love her so much. And the adoption transition went awesome. Not having to worry if she had any kind of illness was a BIG plus. This Chihuahua rescue makes sure they are completely healthy before being adopted. Here is a photo of our sweet Journey.

My sister fosters through this rescue and I always watched online for a dog. When Lolly showed up I told my sister about her and she went over and got her from her foster mom. My sister flew her up to Minnesota, where she currently lives with her brother Monkey. I could have asked for a better sister for him. They are inserperable and love each other so much! Thank you so much for saving her and all the lives that you have!

I have had the absolute most remarkable experience with the Texas Chihuahua Rescue foundation and the fantastic people whom work there. I now am the proud mother of 2 beautiful little xolos whom without this organization would likely not have had the opportunity at a second chance. I am glad that there are like minded people out there whom have taken the thought, care and selflessness to protect and nurture those little creatures a lot less fortunate and ensure they find happy, forever homes (I would say furever homes, but that fact that mine do not have hair makes that statement a little odd). I wanted to share some pictures of these lovely little ones, Truffles and Morty. I am so glad that they are now a part of my life.

I too am a client of Texas Chihuahua Rescue and a contributor to this wonderful organization. Almost a year ago our Chihuahua of 16 years passed away on December 4th. My wife and I were not looking to replace our beloved little guy. He was special and unique as with any beloved member of the family, even if they wear fur. One day, after Christmas I was doing a few searches on rescue sites. I came across Texas Chihuahua Rescue (TCR). There was a senior female who lost her human companion and was being fostered by TCR late October, 2015. Many attempts were made to find her a home but she is partially blind, poor hearing and a senior. Looking for a home with no children and someone who could be at home most of the day. Spoke to my wife and we submitted an application, shortly had a reply and then a phone conversation. We were reviewed, to make sure this senior girl would go to a good home. The Foster did not want her going to just any home and we had to meet the foster. She wanted the final decision for the adoption before she turn over her to us. We assured we were perfect and we could provide her (then Bitsy) a good home. We drove to San Antonio, passed A H-R’s (Foster) approval and took (now) Chloe home with us on January 2nd, her new birthday date. Meeting the team was a very pleasant experience. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet several TCR members. It took Chloe a few weeks to adjust to her new home. We just finished building a new home and moved in this past September. Think she likes the new house. In a corner of the Garage floor, it has her paw print when the foundation was poured. Chloe has a comfortable life, great vet care with regular visits. Lots of loving from us and in return she loves us to. Soon, there will be a second adoption from TCR, next week!
.
Texas Chihuahua Rescue rescues many Chihuahua’s and even takes on the hardest of cases that would break your heart. They have many success stories, save many of these little precious animals that should not have ended up at their Rescue. I will continue to donate and support this group. Their efforts are commendable, hard work that is ongoing every day. I read their posts and follow many of their success stories. They always are looking for people in their area to Foster and if you cannot foster then please donate. This group is worth your hard-earned money, they put it to good use finding these loving Chihuahuas homes. Donate even if a little on a regular basis. Go to their Facebook site and their web site. If you are looking for a Chihuahua and want to give one a good home, look them up.

Always adopt.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue is such a fantastic organization. I was looking to adopt a rescue dog a few months after my darling little dog died a month before his 17th birthday. I found TXCR online and immediately fell in love with a little dog named Blondie. I applied to adopt her. The process was very thorough and pleasant. I live in Canada so it was the Ontario Chapter from whom I adopted my little girl. Transport day was last Saturday. What an incredible experience! I got there early and one of the organizers told me the happiness level was going to skyrocket in the next while. She was so right! The dogs arrived and were gently taken from their crates for a bathroom break. As each little one came through the door there were sounds of joy coming from all the waiting humans. My little girl was one of the last to come in. I was so overjoyed I couldn't help myself and I cried.
This group does such incredible work. The care and organization are top notch. What a wonderful organization. Thank you all so much for the wonderful work you do!!!!

I initially intended to foster a chihuahua with them, but was so smitten I knew after a few days I would be keeping my little chi! TCR was so helpful, informative, and kind during this process. You can really tell they care about saving all of the chihuahuas they can find, which is a lot here in San Antonio! They truly love each and every one of the dogs.

TCR is such a fantastic organization! They rescued both of my babies and they have each added their own kind of happiness to our lives. I cannot imagine my life without them. My first pup was in a foster home until he was about 4 months and our second was only there for 2. But I love that they were loved and not scared in a shelter until the time that we found them. We joke that our girl doesn't know she could have been a street dog and thinks she's a born princess! She sure is our little princess and she is the BEST big sister to our human son. I cannot imagine out home without them. They make us feel whole. And it would not have been possible without the people who stepped in to save them and took the steps to find them loving homes.

We adopted our sweet Lucy (previously Simone) in August. She is so happy, as are we. She was so good when our granddaughter came for a visit. Our experience with this rescue organization was so wonderful. They answered all my questions patiently, as we waited for our Lucy to be ready for our home. Their transport, Peggy, selflessly drove and met us halfway between San Antonio and Fort Worth. We appreciated that so much. I highly recommend this Rescue! :)

This group of amazing souls is absolutely incredible. They give every ounce of themselves and their time to the sweet dogs they rescue, and they rescue as many dogs as they physically can. No matter what age, or condition a dog may be in, TxCR finds a way to do everything they can to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home them. TxCR is run solely on fosters, volunteers, donations, and huge hearts. I found TxCR at one of their adoption events by accident, and I immediately fell in love with one of their rescue dogs; He is now my Kojo. They were very thorough in checking our adoption application and Kojo's foster mom even came by our house for a visit to make sure our home and our family was a good fit. I don't know many rescues that take the time to check and double check their adopters. That alone spoke volumes to me about TxCR. This group TRULY cares about these animals and their wellbeing, and it shows with everything they do. I am so thankful to them for my sweet Kojo. I am so thankful to know such a great group of people. Thank you TxCR for all you do!!

*Photo is of Kojo and his foster Mom a couple months after we adopted him. We met her so he could give her a gift. Look how genuinely happy he was to see her! So awesome!

I met TXCR valentines day weekend. I woke up that morning and decided I wanted a dog. It just hit me and it felt right. I called Petsmart and they told me that TXCR was setting up for on-site adoptions. I went over there and instantly felt a connection with Arya. Her awesome foster mom Mary O. helped me through the adoption paperwork. After consulting with Tammie and a home visit, I was officially a fur-mom! I am so thankful that TXCR rescued my little Arya. It was fate! Since then I have fostered for TXCR . This rescue is truly wonderful! They strive to save as many lives as possible and work tirelessly to raise awareness about the breed. The application process is simple but they thoroughly vet potential adopters to make sure every dog is finding the perfect home. TXCR pours their heart and soul into their mission. This rescue deserves every amount of recognition and I truly believe their work will prevent unnecessary euthanasia for years to come.

I found this amazing rescue when we decided to add another dog to our family. They were amazing to work with. They had many different dogs to choose from and they took the time to properly screen us and our lifestyle to make sure the dog we chose would be a good fit and find their forever home. I appreciate the fact that my little Mayhem(formerly known as Dixon) had all his shots and was already neutered. The adoption process was very easy to navigate and we couldn't be happier to have Mayhem in our lives. When our two senior chis cross the rainbow bridge we will definitely use this rescue again. I admire the great lengths the volunteers go through to pull chihuahuas out of high kill rescues and find them living homes. They go above and beyond to make sure these babies are taken care of and their commitment to their rescue is one of the things I love the most about them. If we had more rescues like this, so many more dogs would be in homes. This rescue definitely deserves recognition for all that they do.

When I went to meet the wonderful dogs up for adoption I didn't know how I would choose and then when I saw a tiny little girl named Cara (my name is Kara) looking at me I knew I had to have her! We had the same name, it had to be some sort of sign. Cara (now Belle) will be a year in February and she has been the best addition to our family, I can't wait to adopt from them again!

I am a foster failure (lol). I have adopted 4 of my 7 babies through Texas Chihuahua Rescue. My fur babies have changed my life. I never bored or lonely, they keep me busy and I adore all my babies. Every dog that was brought up looked incredibly healthy and well-cared for. We took Edgar to the vet when we got home and he was completely healthy and up-to-date on vaccines, etc. Texas Chihuahua Rescue & God's Dogs Transport takes amazing care of these little guys.

I love fostering for Texas Chihuahua Rescue because it is the most caring wonderful rescue I have been involved with in my 40+ years of doing rescue. They are very organized and concerned about these babies get the complete vetting and care they need before they are placed in approved homes that will be their forever homes. I adopted my Daisy Mae from them after fostering her and her mom and she is a wonderful addition to my little zoo of rescued chihuahuas . She is a breath of fresh air watching her grow up as my others are a bit older abused rescues . Thank you Texas Chihuahua Rescue for letting me be part of your group.

Had several people maybe 4 help me adopt Chelsea, age 2 fawn Papillon. I searched for 9mos. This is a God story. I responded to a lady's add who wanted to give her own dog up for adoption during a time of distress in her life. I prayed and told her she was not going to do this. She thanked me and said, she didn't know how, but she was going to help me find my dog. She also had 30 years experience with this breed, raising and training them. Because she was a member of the Texas Chihuahua Club she had an inside with this rescue to find my dog. I sent her photos of my prior pet who died 2.5 yrs. ago. She found the same smiley face as my dog in this beautiful, intelligent and peaceful dog which is what her represents as people with this name are often described as this. I prayed and asked God for her real name..which I got in prayer that eve. I saw a flash of her coming down my portal from heaven to earth.8/2/15 when Dad died as I asked for my next dog..nearly a year later..The day I cried out to God, that hope deferred makes a heart sick and demanded I have my dog today! That others had found their dog and He was no respecter of persons. That is when this lady from Mansfield contacted me and sent my photos of Chelsea (they had called her Lily). When I looked up Chelsea the meaning is port or seaport and is an Anglo Saxon derivation. ( my portal).. Pretty cool..huh! Everyone I dealt with had such heart and warmth and protected her from being adopted by the wrong person. Tammy brought her half way to me in Temple, TX. half way to San Antonio from Plano, TX. Everyone acted very responsibly, She was totally vetted. I got all the paper work and her rabies and ID tags and shot records for $155 I think. I spent probably up to $400 getting her crate, her bed, leash, harness (got easy care one..that keeps dog from dragging it's owner..highly recommend from PetLand $29.99..Trust me.. as this dog likes to chase rabbits. ) Fromm's chicken and veggie dog food, toy stuffed that squeaks from WAlmart, Oster shampoo with coconut oil, etc. cow's ears to chew on, tartar control toothpaste and learned how to brush her teeth, special wire self-cleaning brush that press a button and fir comes right off the bristles $13 at Petland. My backyard turned in to Ft. Knox to keep her from gong under any rabbit holes.

I have to watch her like a hawk so she doesn't fly out the door. I make sure she walks and runs every day for 2-2.5 miles. Then she is happy to lie down and rest inside later on.
She is totally house broken and never once made a mistake in my home. God bless all of you for all you do.

Tyler is the latest addition to our family and arrived in Hamilton, Ontario via the Canadian chapter of Texas Chihuahua Rescue. The volunteers on both sides of the border are amazing. Every story is heartbreaking but these organizations make happy endings possible on a daily basis. Tyler needed knee surgery while in foster care in Canada and the US based group covered the cost. Thanks to the intervention of Texas Chihuahua Rescue, hundreds of these loveable dogs are rescued, receive the necessary medical treatment, fostered and eventually re-homed. We are foster fails and Tyler was a gift to my husband for our 40th wedding anniversary. The traditional gift is ruby but I think it should be replaced by chihuahua.

I originally contacted TX Chi Rescue to adopt one of the dogs they had listed online. I drove to the dogs fosters home to meet her. Unfortunately, it was not a match. After listening to me tell her what I was looking for, the foster brought out another one of her dogs, and it was love at first sight. I adopted him shortly thereafter.
