Wow! What a historical experience!! The museum shows many parts of history - from the Native American local tribal history to the mining and medical past. What a cool town Telliuride is.

The Telluride historical museum was a great experience. It was nice to learn about several different pieces of history in this town. I would highly recommend visitors and locals to spend time at this museum.

I wandered into the Museum in 2007 when I spent a month skiing in Telluride. It was so lovely that I was pleased to continue my membership in the society for the years when I did not visit Telluride. My sister knew how fond I was of the Museum so that she purchased a family membership for me for 2011 when I am currently spending two months here.

I attended my first event sponsored by the Historical Society last week, The Pub Crawl. It did a great job of illustrating the bawdy history of this little mining town. If anyone thinks museums are stuffy, they have not attended a Pub Crawl!

I have enjoyed my associations with the staff and volunteers of the Historical Society. It seems to be the centerpiece of the community and I am very happy to support it.

The Telluride Historical Museum, as might be expected, well represents the history of Telluride with its many artifacts, vignettes and interactive exhibits of its Native American and mining heritage, including an outdoor, interactive exhibit of local mining activities and equipment. However, the Museum is also mindful of the more recent history of Telluride - that of the development of the ski industry and many festivals for which Telluride is deservedly renowned. The Museum also sponsors many activities in the Museum, the town, and in the surrounding countryside which bring the community together and develop a sense of the origins of Telluride today. Therefore, the Museum has "something for everyone" and is a warm, welcoming , and enlightening place for all, visitors and residents alike.

Bringing history to life is the mantra of the Telluride Historical Museum, and with it's outstanding historic building, collection, staff, and volunteers, the museum is reaching outside its walls to make history happen. As a volunteer turned board member (more volunteering), I see the impact this institution has on the members of the community, both those living here and those visiting us. Telluride is a historic tourism destination in its own right, and the museum takes that to a whole higher level. It's not just exhibits and interactive displays, but engaging lectures, hikes, ski tours, school field trips, and much more. History isn't dull, dusty, and boring in Telluride ... thanks to the Telluride Historical Museum, history lives!

The Musuem literally overlooks Telluride and all that happens there. My family particularly enjoy the Museum's fine collaborations and events with the region's Utes. Exhibits are curated with sensitivity and diligent care. The museum store displays an intelligent array of books. We learned so much about Telluride by walking through this Museum and listening to its very dedicated staff. Many, many thanks!

This museum is a tremendous boost to the town of Telluride and to the region of southwest Colorado. The information and experiences shared by this insitution are appropriately tailored to capture the interest and imagination of all ages. The museum offers a wide variety of ourtreach activities throughout the community that transports the mission of the organization well beyond its physical building. I enjoy visiting the museum and taking my friends and guests to the various activities they offer to this region. For a town the size of Telluride, our museum is truly a testiment to the resources and capabilities of the staff and guiding board.

I think this is a beautifully restored building and very well maintained. Your staff is very knowledgelable and the grounds are impecably maintained. I have been to many museums throughout the country and to visit one of this caliber is truely an outstanding treat. I look forward to visiting again when the current construction project is completed.

We have been so impressed with the quality and variety of services from this wonderful "little" museum! There is an incredible outreach to the community in many forms--fireside chats, mountain history tours, newsletters, e-mails, and many more! Each event we have attended has made the history of the area come alive! We visited the museum itself for the first time last fall and were sorry we had neglected to do so sooner! It makes such good use of a beautiful historic building, and the displays are professional and informative. Thank you so much for the wonderful work you are doing in the community.

When my father came to visit I struggled to think of an activity that would be fun for him, my daughter, my husband and me. But the Telluride Historical Museum captivated all of us. It was a fun, interactive way for us to learn and a great way to spend the day together. The museum was a surprise to my husband, who was born and raised in Telluride and thought he knew everything about the community. Even he was engaged and interested.
The museum is one of the best cultural amenities we have here, and the people who work to make it so special deserve high praise.

Don't spend a minute in Telluride without visiting the Museum. Get to know what makes this quaint western mining town with a Victorian flare one of the most iconic places in America. What do Butch Cassidy, Diamond Tooth Lil and Nikola Tesla all have in common? They all have a story to share at the Telluride Historical Museum.

This museum is located on the north side of Telluride and is very well thought out and managed. The staff runs the museum to maximize the space available and present artifacts, photos, stories in a manner that makes it fun to hang out and see everything. Recently they opened an exhibit of Telluride during the 1970's and kicked it off with Telluride Trivia. Very hip, energetic night that especially drew and delighted long time locals. The museum has hosted quite a number of cool, interesting events, the most recent being a fun day outing at the historic Schmid Ranch on Wilson Mesa with cookies, hot chocolate and sleigh rides. Over 200 attended and they invited local businesses to donate cookies and chip in for the sleigh rides so attendees could ride for free. Worth being a member and worth your time, attention and donations, most certainly.
