This group is a lifeline to so many women (and men) who have loved ones in prison. We are involved in an entirely different world and set of circumstances that most people will never have to experience. Without Ro and the rest of the amazing people involved with this venture so many of us would be lost and not know where to turn for support and understanding. We are the "blacksheep of the family" in this world of judgement and criticism, I fear that without this group for support many women would simply give up hope. This group helps us to continue to be the Strong Women that we are by joining forces, sharing stories and simply loving each other.

Question? When you visit and have to stay the night, do you go for the fancy room with the Jacuzzi? or the just get cheep as possible? :) A lot of women will answer these and some other awesome questions. Even when you are just losing it on the pillow, falling apart. Great Admin.

This group is amazing support during one the hardest times in our mine and my husbands life. My husband is away serving time for a drug addiction, even though we have support from family and friends its not quiet time the same. They are here for you no matter what, to pick you up when you need it. They understand the emotional ups and downs this life can be. They are light in the darkest times, the shoulder you need and they are there to cherish the small, silly moments and big triumphs. Thank you my SPWF family!!

This nonprofit is helping me by providing support during one of the most difficult times in my life. The best part about this group is that they allow candid sharing of emotions, support and resources, and camaraderie to a demographic that is often overlooked. Many in this demographic (wives and families of those who are incarcerated) are often stereotyped and judged because of a loved one that has made mistakes in their life, and is now paying severe consequences. With this group, the participants are able to feel loved, safe from judgment, and know that they are not alone. They provide forums with many detailed questions, monthly chat sessions where members can talk with and provide support for each other, and a Facebook-like status update for members to post current statuses of their lives, as well as the ability to upload blog postings. When I found this nonprofit, I finally felt as though there was a group that understood what I was going through, even when I didn't understand it. As a new member, I didn't know where to start, but many of the older members helped me and guided me through the process. Their support has helped me keep my head up, come to terms with the future, and reassures me that I'm not alone. I found a place where I could be myself, and not be judged because of the people that are in my life. The group is a diverse, vibrant, cohesive bunch of women, who want nothing more than to help others that are going through a similar situation.

My fiance is in prison. My friends and immediate family try to be supportive but it not the same as someone knowing what it's really like. I googled support group for prison families and found this site. I have made some great friends from all over the country that know exactly what I'm feeling. This site is what has kept me going. I don't know how I would make it thru his incarceration without it!

Love group of women who have a heart and passion for other women and families going through the same struggles as they are. This amazing group has so many outreach support groups and ways of getting help and information for any question you may have. All the women are friendly and very easy to talk to and they truly understand what you are going through.

After finding out that my partner was to be serving life they were an immeasurable help for me just to find out how to make it through the days and what I could be doing to help him. They give all kinds of advice on just about every subject you could think of pertaining to the prison systems and try their best into leading you in the right direction to get you where you need to be going. They have truly helped me and I appreciated all the information I get from them. Some of it is helpful and some not but all is appreciated.

After my husband got brought up on old charges just 2 months before we were to be married we tried to go on as best as we could- as normally as we could. We got married and continued raising our two children until he was sentenced to 3 years in the Arizona State Prison. I was lost when he went in to custody but I reached out and came across Strong Prison Wives and met some really helpful women who talked me through a lot when I had no one else who understood what I was going through and for that I am eternally grateful for.

When I first came into this group I was so sad and depressed. I didn't know anything about how the prison system worked or how to do an appeal but all of the admins and group members were so nice and helpful. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I'm not alone through this devastating time in my family's life!!! I don't know what I would do without this page and the amazing people I share it with!
