I have contributed directly to this organization without any qualms about how the money is being spent. I know they can save as many horses as possible through good financial management. They are very thorough in all their fundraising events. They have excellent legal support as well. They work tirelessly to educate the public against slaughter of horses and work constantly to take horses from the racetrack to retrain them for another carear.
I adopted A Sharp, aka Storm, in November of 2014. Marlene also has another retired tb at the same farm I boarded from, a wonderful boy named chocolate knight. Race fund is very methodical in chosen the right home for a retired race horse. They are genuinely concerned for the horse, and continue to be involved in their lives. I speak with them regularly, and am blessed that my horse was rescued and cared for by this wonderful group of people.
The most proffessional, expericed and compassionate organization dedicated to the resuce, rehabiliation and securing a permanent home for America's treasured Off the Track Throroughbred horses. It is my pleasure to donate to this cause. I was personally touched as well as our community by one such horse who was known to us in 2013. "Quiet Dare". It was an honor to photograph him upon his arrival home to his owner, Sara. Thank you RACE Fund for all the love and efforts to secure his safety along with all the other horses I have witnessed since that time. What an awesome group of women doing God's work. God Bless you for your continued dedication.
Finding another life for a racehorse that can not race is what we ALL need to do. R.A.C.E. is doing just that. They have been WONDERFUL in their efforts!
RACE Fund literally is a lifesaver for OTTBs. Our small group of friends rescued a son of Honor And Glory named Noggin Dude. He needed a safe harbor with people who care after his difficult experience. Marlene and Craig were amazing and Dude has blossomed under their good care. I would aalways tr
ust them implicitly.
excellent job. Very hard working. OTTB rescue group should be run like this!
Always impressed with the work RACE Fund is doing! Great at communication and appreciative of any gift (no matter how small.) They are professional and I'm am amazed at how they are able to do so much with their limited funding sources. Keep up the good work! I am comfortable in the knowledge that Marlene and her volunteers are working so very hard to better the lives of the animals they touch.
This organization helps fill and extremely important function, helping to find homes for retired TB race horses, ones that the industry does not help (shame on the race industry). They do it right, and the needs of the horse always come first. I hope to be in a position soon to accept one or more of these magnificent beings.
I met a gorgeous OTTB at a local rescue. I was considering adopting him and found out the next day he suffered a leg fracture that could heal with stall rest or may need surgery. He needed more than two mo this to rehab and that rescue just could not give him what he needed. The RACE fund took him back and gave him the care he needed. A noble race horse who deserve a retirement and excellent care! They truly care for these Horses and it is a wonderful organization!!!!! There should be more that are honest like this one and jot out to make a profit !!!! It's all for the horses!
Race fund is a fantastic organization. They have saved many lives including one very dear to my heart.
Race fund is an invaluable organization that assisted me with a very special forgotten Thoroughbred. Promethia is a daughter of Alydar and just turned 30. I beleive she is the oldest thoroughbred they have ever worked with. They brought awareness to her plight and she now is happy, has a job of "baby-sitter" to some orphan foals and is enjoying life. They are saving lives one at a time. Promethia'stime time may not be long, but it will be the best she has had in years. Thank you for my special girl!
The R.AC.E Fund is a very trustworthy organization that truly puts the horses welfare first. This is the reason I support them. You can bet that when you send a donation it will be used for horse care. Marlene Murray has always gone out of her way to help horses in need, and she is excellent at keeping donors and the public updated on the progress of the horses the R.A.C.E Fund saves.
I have worked closely with the R.A.C.E Fund on a professional level and I can say with confidence that they genuinely care about the safety and well-being of horses. The R.A.C.E Fund has both funded and facilitated the rescue and retirement of many horses. mostly Thoroughbred Ex-racehorses headed for slaughter. They are a very honest, conscientious, and responsible group, one that you can trust to use your donation directly toward the rescue and care of horses. If you would like to have your generosity truly make a difference in a horse's life, then I highly recommend donating to the R.A.C.E Fund.
I can't say enough about this organization! They stepped up when my Thoroughbred needed help......providing temporary housing, and facilitating his placement and transportation to a Foundation for retired racehorses, that I was ultimately was able to adopt him from.
Their professionalism is unmatched. Years later, they were able to find me on Facebook, and actually reached out to me to see how he was doing! They were very excited to follow up on a horse they once cared for, proving how much they care for all the horses they have ever helped.
My horse has brought more joy and purpose to my life than I ever thought possible, and I am forever grateful for the tireless and often thankless work that R.A.C.E. Fund does!!!
There is absolutely no doubt about it, the R.A.C.E. Fund is one of the best organizations there is. They are extremely professional, caring, knowledgeable and very well respected to say the least. I would trust their opinions and judgement without hesitation as they always have the best interests and welfare of the horses as a top priority. To say that they work diligently towards protecting these horses for life is an understatement. I cannot say enough good things about them and I cannot thank them enough for what they are doing and have done for these horses - they are No. 1 in my book.
The R.A.C.E. Fund is a first-class organization that not only finds adequate retirment homes for racehorses, but also follows up on them for years after the initial sale to ensure they have not slipped through the cracks. There is no better rescue organization than RACE Fund and they should be commended for the fantastic work they do.
The R.A.C.E Fund is an organization that is helping to save unwanted race horses from slaughter and to find them new home with new "jobs". These aniamls have so much more to give than just winning a race.
The R.A.C.E. Fund truly was born out of compassion for race horses. The board members have lived their whole lives caring for race horses and now have an organization to help even more of them. You go girls!!! "Until They Are Safe". Thank you RACE Fund for believing that, "As long as man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of other living beings, he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love." - Pythagoras~
I have worked with Marlene many times over the last several years, helping to rescue and place Thoroughbreds of all ages off the track or from neglect or feedlot situations... into good, safe and forever homes and new careers. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Marlene and the RACE Fund. RACE Fund is an extremely dedicated, no- nonsense charity that has proven time and time again that their protocol works. Marlene is a wealth of information about the entire racing industry and her knowledge also helps to educate others about Thoroughbred and other equine welfare issues. I have worked with many horse rescues over the years, and the RACE Fund comes out on top! THANK YOU RACE Fund for saving so many Thoroughbreds, track ponies and other equines, giving them a second chance at life!
The Race Fund is a non profit association that works to assist in the placement of retired thoroughbred race horses to go on to a new and happy life following the end of their racing career. This particular organization assists all kinds of these retired thoroughbreds and has built a network of reputable "foster" homes across the country as temporary (and sometimes permanent) placement for them. Their leaders work tirelessly to place a horse - even if that horse is not the most physically adept at the end of their career. They believe (as do we) that just because a race horse has reached the end of their racing career - doesn't mean that they are no longer valuable or no longer worthy of love and care. They champion campaigns against the slaughter of innocent horses, whose fate at a slaughter house is extremely inhumane and very cruel to the animal. These retired race horses deserve a better end to their career than that of the cruelty of a slaughterhouse and the The Race Fund's leadership promotes this philosophy through their willingness to work toward this end without regard for their own personal time or amount of effort - whatever it takes to save a horse!. The Race Fund leaders are constantly striving to find ways of bettering life for these retired race horses. They have built this organization from scratch with a fundamentally sound business plan and are very knowledgeable about how to make their organization and business plans work and what it takes to reach their goals. Throughout the years, they have tackled many challenges in this endeavor but have not allowed these challenges to deter them from their mission nor have they strayed from their beliefs as a result. Our hats are off to them for the excellent job they do in placing these horses and saving them for a better life in the years after the end of their racing careers! Congratulations to all of them for continuing to provide this service and for a job well done! Kudos!
The RACE FUND is a wonderful organization that helps retired race horses that tirelessly gave their life to racing The organization gives the horses a peaeful way to live out their final days rather than the other horrible alternatives that other horses face such as slaughter.
