To give these animals a safe and enriched atmosphere to call home since they can't be in the wild
PrideRock wildlife refuge performs a very needed service for the animal kingdom, especially large cats. PrideRock is truly a labor of love especially for its' owners and caretakers. PrideRock is not open to the public which affords the animal residents a much more relaxed atmosphere and contributes greatly to their quality of life. Once an animal comes to PrideRock it has a forever home with loving care. It is a privilege to be associated with PrideRock.
I am honored to be a Board member of PrideRock Wildlife Sanctuary. Long before I became involved, Gary and Carol Holliman had already dedicated their lives to the rescue and care of these magnificent large cats and other guests of PrideRock. The care and love that each of these cats experience is the result of the dedication and love of Carol and Gary. When you see the cats of PrideRock the content and wellbeing of each guest is evident. Everyone who donates to PrideRock will have a feeling of satisfaction knowing that every dollar is used to ensure the best possible life for these cats.
I have been a volunteer at PrideRock since August of 2014 and it has been an amazing experience and I love the animals and people of PrideRock a great deal. I have learned a lot about the care of exotics and in turn educate the public as to why they are not pets and should not be. I also help with the newsletter, emails, fundraising and cleaning enclosures on site at the sanctuary. Working with animals is my passion and being able to volunteer my time for their well-being is incredibly rewarding. It is hard work and cleaning enclosures is some of the dirtiest work but it's one of my favorite things to do! Serving big cats and all the animals at PrideRock is a privileged and a pleasure!
I have volunteered with PrideRock for about a year now. This is my first experience with big cats. What strikes me every time I am there with the cats, is the peace and serenity that the cats experience everyday. We are closed to the public and that is such a blessing for the cats. These guys are territorial and it is stressful for them when strangers come into their territory. At PrideRock, the cats don't worry about that. It would be so much easier to open the sanctuary to the public and charge for tours because that would make it so much easier to pay the bills. But we know that is not what is best for the cats.
Pride Rock is truly a wonderful haven for big cats. The love and care that the animals receive is second to none. Every animal receives top notch care and attention. Funding is used very wisely and for the care of animals. If you care about the plight of large cats saved from terrible situations then Pride Rock is the place to help.
I am thrilled to be a part of such a beautiful, peaceful and amazing big cat sanctuary! The owners and staff are extremely caring and loving to their residents. The cats are incredible. They get great care and have very little stress. I am proud to be a part of the PrideRock family!
PrideRock is an amazing sanctuary!! The owners, staff, interns and volunteers are outstanding and 100% committed to the care and happiness of the majestic animals who call the refuge home - including lions, tigers, cougars and wolves. Volunteering at PrideRock has been an awesome experience!
We volunteer at PrideRock and love it! The work they do there is truly a blessing to the animals. We love visiting everyone as often as we can. Please remember PrideRock on NorthTexasGivingDay.org on Sept. 17th!
My name is Tasha VanAusdall and I am writing this review so it can get the recognition that it deserves.
I have know Gary and Carol for 8 years and have volunteered with the big cats.
I have personally seen Gary and Carol sacrifice their own lives for the sake of abused, neglected and abandoned cats. These are not just pets but become family. my volunteer work with them has made a huge impact on my life and has been rewarding. It is therapeutic. Its not everyday that you can get tiger kisses and chuffs when they greet you. You leave with a sense of accomplishment.
The work that is done at PrideRock is challenging but yet rewarding.
Please consider this organization
This organization is one of the best for the animals that it takes in and gives a forever home to be happy and well taken care of. If it weren't for these incredible people, so many of our creatures would not be alive today. I thoroughly enjoy visiting with them on a daily basis.
They need the financial assistance to continue their great work. I look forward to seeing them everyday and it would be a tragedy for all concerned if they could not continue this fine work.
Thank you for allowing me to review this wonderful organization and believe me when I say that many others would also like to see this venue continue its great work.

I have volunteered at PrideRock Wildlife Refuge for almost two years and all I can say is this place is my home away from home. The owners, staff and most importantly the residents (the cats) are all a total joy. PrideRock is a very special and loving place for all of those that are in need of rescue and finding permanent living, a forever home. I do the photo's for the FB page and find so much joy in doing this to share the cats beauty and maintain a closed to the public facility. Closed to the public is sooo beneficial to the cats. Their beauty is to be shared and the public gains knowledge of how these big cats can be exploited and basically tossed away when they no longer make money in the entertainment industry or individuals can no longer care for their Big fluffy pet. That's why PrideRock is here, they provide a place, a life and safety for all of those in need of rescue. I hope to Volunteer for PrideRock for many, many years to come. It's absolutely a little piece of heaven. I LOVE THOSE BIG CATS!

I have been a volunteer for several months at PrideRock and all I can say is this is the most incredible refuge for all the residents. It is a quite location set back in tree filled beauty. All the residents are happy, very well cared for and very much loved. I look forward every week to make my drive out to PrideRock, I only wish I'd started volunteering here years ago, these cats mean the world to me, it's an honor to be at PrideRock. Gary and Carol have truly put their heart and soul into creating a little piece of heaven for the lives of all the Lions, Tigers, Cougars, it's a forever home filled with love and care.
Pride Rock has done an exceptional job with the rescue animals they have adopted. They are kind enough to share the pictures of the beautiful cats and the adorable wolves they have given a safe and loving home. I have seen the love they have for all of the animals there through the laughter and tears of the posts made and hopefully one day soon I will be able to go do my part to volunteer with these exceptional animals and their extraordinary caregivers. They open their hearts to those others have cast away on a daily basis.

I follow on Facebook faithfully. I am an animal lover who expects great things and hold sanctuaries to very high standards. Really got interested as I would see them try, and suceed, in raising funds for various cats health issues. They are tireless and so committed to providing needed medical care and compassionate everyday care. No little day to day need is too trivial when it comes to food, cleanup, medical care. The time spent providing mental and physical stimulation is so gratifying. Wonderful caregivers! They take such pains to provide my Leo, love him dearly, with such constant care. They deserve so much more than they receive to keep things going.. Anything they could receive is so well deserved. I am asking you to please give the sanctuary every consideration. Thank you in advance. Joanne Wickham

I have been volunteering at Pride Rock for a long time and truely enjoy the time I spend out there with the cats.
I have been volunteering at PrideRock for the last 8 years and it is something that I truly enjoy. I love seeing the cats and working around them. I also enjoy spending time with the staff and the owners, Carol and Gary.
I have served on the Board for Priderock Wildlife Refuge for over 4 years. This pristine sanctuary for these big cats is an amazing facility. It is beautiful, perfectly landscaped and maintained, spotless freezers and refrigerators for the animal's food and a place that any animal would find happiness. I guess that most of all, I love the fact that Carol and Gary Holliman have devoted their lives to creating a forever habitat for these animals that might not be with us except for the Holliman's. I live about a mile away as the crow flies and I love the peaceful sound of the lions roaring in the still of the evening. They could be enjoying their beautiful grassy play areas, their spotlessly clean cages or even a splash in their own special swimming pools. I am honored to be associated with Priderock Wildlife Refuge.
I live about a mile from the Priderock Wildlife Refuge. I love the sounds of the lions and tigers eating about 7:00 each night. The roar of the animals crosses my lake and pierces the quiet of the night with magical sounds. Priderock performs a service that is unbelievable! The owners, Gary and Carol Holliman display a committment to the care and love of these abandoned and abused animals and have dedicated their lives to the Wildlife Refuge. The 11 acre facility is pristine and the animals enjoy pools to splash around in and the best of food. This wonderful facility deserves every dollar that is donated to them! Tricia Smith

I have been volunteering my communications services at PrideRock since June 2014. During that time I have had a chance to visit the facility and meet the PrideRock team. The animals are wonderful and it is so awesome to watch them interact - almost like humans - with the staff. Carol and Gary are terrific folks for doing what they do to care for these gorgeous, amazing creatures. It really is difficult to imagine the conditions many of these animals would be living in had they not found their way to PrideRock Wildlife Refuge.
I had the honor of working with a number of the animals at PrideRock for the first time in April of 2014. On first entering the PrideRock Wildlife Refuge gated grounds, it is a apparent that every attention to detail (and code) has been considered and tended to daily. The proprietors, staff and volunteers are kind, attentive and very respectful of the animals' well being. The daily care procedures are well organized, food prep areas and freezers are spotless, and the generous enclosures are kept extremely clean and well maintained. In addition to tending to the residents physical needs and well being, they are also provided with regular and varied enrichment activities and tools - including a beautiful grassy "playground" complete with pool and a tree! Most of these animals have come to PrideRock from less than favorable situations, but they are now blessed with having a wonderful home to live out their rest of their lives in dignity - where they are truly loved, respected, and cared for.

Even though I was there for less than a month I really enjoyed my time there getting to know the cats and getting a feel for what I want to do in my future. PrideRock is somewhere I hope to help out as much as I can.
They love their cats and it really shows. It is a wonderful place I hope to help whenever I am in town.
I have worked for PrideRock Wildlife Refuge going on 4 years now. I have visited and studied at many other facilities in the area as well as some not so close. In my experience at all these places, nothing compares to the devotion, compassion, cleanliness, beauty, and love shared with Gods big cats than PrideRock Wildlife Refuge. I am truly blessed to have been afforded the opportunity to go on this great adventure with mom and pop Holliman. I will do everything in my power to support and watch there humble dreams grow into an even bigger life saving endeavors!
It is overwhelming what they have accomplished. They provide an incredible service
to the Wildlife as well as to the community.
PrideRock is a kind safe place and all animals there are rescues.
I continue to be amazed by their continuous commitment.
Go see for yourself. It's a memorable outing.
I live next door to PrideRock and now love sitting on my front porch listening to the lions and tigers roar. When I moved here four years ago, my house had no electricity, it was in July and extremely hot. So, I made a bed on my front porch to sleep in at night. Well, let me tell you!!! When I heard the lions roar it scared the Jesus out of me. I spent most of the night shining a flashlight into the dark. I swear I saw eyes staring at me all night long. So, I got my 30-30 just to be safe. When I looked through the rifle scope I saw nothing but possums and coons staring at me. Wheu!! Boy was I relieved. About an hour after I went to sleep, a coon jumped upon my bed and I almost messed in my pants. The coon looked me straight in my eyes and said; "Mr. Smith we have all heard about you and welcome you to PrideRock." Intent on listening to what the coon had to say, I went inside the house and got a box on graham crackers to share with him. After sharing about 20 crackers, I started trying to get more information out of him. He told me his name was the Lone Ranger. When I asked him where Tonto was, he left and I have never seen him since.
I am so thankful for people like Gary and Carol that care so much for God's special creations. They give so much of their time and devotion to their animals. Priderock is a top notched facility and the animals are reflect the love and respect they are shown by their happiness. Places like Priderock are so vital to our world and to the survival of these awesome creatures. Priderock Rocks !!!
This is a wonderful place and the animals seem so happy and so well cared for! It is a beautiful experience and it is such a blessing to see all of the good that Carol and Gary do for these animals day after day!
Me and my family went to visit Pride Rock last year 2012 . We were amazed at there setup and how happy playful and healthy the cats are ,It is an awesome place better then any zoo I have gone to .This couple has put there lives work into a safe haven for these amazing creatures. I think me and my husband were more impressed then our daughter because we have an idea what it takes to run a place like this .PrideRock Wildlife Refuge was built with 100% love and it shows. A memory for life, I wish there were more people like Carol and Gary in this world and I thank them for a experience my family will never forget.
Thank you for your help with our situation. Helpful in every way. Including saving a life and transportation. You are awesome
I have known Gary & Carol for almost 20 years. I can honestly say they have literally put everything they have into providing the best care and environment for the cats they rescue. If it wasn't for them, and others like them, I can't even think about what would happen to these animals.
Carol and Gary are such a Blessing to these Beautiful cats, the love and care they give is just remarkable..
Gary and Carol are doing a wonderful job caring for the animals. It is quite obvious that both are truly dedicated to their calling. The premises are extremely clean and in good repair. The animals are well fed and watered. The animals truly care for Gary and Carol. A rescued animal could not be in a better place. Keep up the good work. Bob and Brenda Pepper

I have known Gary & Carol Holliman, the owners of PrideRock, for over 13 years. I can say they are completely devoted to the magnificent creatures in their care. They are unique in that every dollar donated goes to the care of the animals. The animals that are blessed enough to find their way to PrideRock are ensured of a kind and loving lifetime home. PrideRock is the epitome of the word sanctuary.
What I can tell you about this charity is that they appear to be just another in a long line of charities that preys on the elderly in our nation. Charities in this country, like this one, should be ashamed of themselves. That they would intentionally solicit from senior citizens knowing full well that some of their donations would come from elderly people who may not recognize that they cannot afford to be donating to charities.
Charities like this one...absolutely sicken me. I used google maps to try and see the "refuge" there is little indicate that the refuge exists. The website contains no pictures that I can see that provide any evidence of a refuge. Furthermore there is zero information on the top two web sites BBB and Charity Navigator.
So sorry you feel this way and we do exist and will send you anything you desire to prove it! We have never "preyed" on the elderly or anyone else for that matter. Have you been to our website? www.priderock.org. There are plenty of pictures there. We are also an ASA accredited sanctuary. You sound like a very bitter, unhappy person and I pity you. Best regards ~~ Carol Holliman
