Here are few things that I like about Prataham -Yearly ASER survey to find out how much % of children in different age groups are able to read and write -Creating special programs around the public education system instead of trying to build a parallel education infrastructure.
We have been recently introduce to Pratham USA in Dallas. It was love at first sight on the core objectives and its practical application. We have been able to attend their cultural/fund raising program and both of our children on their own decided to donate a significant portion of their pocket money as the proof point were so compelling for the young children. I have decided to learn and implement further in the areas of india that I come from.
Does amazing work educating the children of India! Clear mission, strategic thinking, metrics-driven and focused on the kids Attended their fund-raising gala and left inspired by their commitment
The best way to characterize Pratham is an organization that is helping address the foundational cause of literacy and numeracy, effectively (through demonstrated learning outcomes), cost effectively, and at scale (34 million touched by Read India campaign. This is a very rare combination that makes Pratham very special.
Simple concept that is working. Providing the basic skills such as reading and writing can open doors for many who could have never imagined what their potential is. Excellent organization that is simple but sophisticated to expand at a level that has touched many lives.
We have been involved in many educational non-profits and none has the expanse and reach of Pratham. Pratham has been able to convince many all across India to let the volunteers provide the needed support as well as all across US to spread the word and receive support for its mission. Pratham provides the very foundation for success in life for countless children and gives hope for future.
I'm very selective about charities I support and it has been extremely rewarding to support Pratham. The volunteers simply amaze me with their passion and results-oriented service.
Pratham was one of the first organizations that I got associated with in terms of field work. It was always an eye-opener while visiting Pratham centers in India and also viewing their impact. The ASER survey is one of its own kind and has been beneficial to all organizations involved in the educational field within India, including the Indian government. I commend Pratham for having taken steps to conduct this survey, and their continuous involvement with government schools and programs such as SSA.
