Living in South Florida we know there are many options for our neglected animals. But the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League has been leading the way for a very long time and should be seen as a blueprint for other shelters to follow. The CEO Rich Anderson has a passion for what he does and it is evident with every associate, board member and volunteer involved with this amazing organization. They simply are the best!
This group deserves more than 5 stars!!

My family had a wonderful experience with Peggy Adams Rescue League of Palm Beach. About 3 months ago we were looking to adopt a dog. We found the perfect dog that was a great fit for our family.Bentley is a Jack-Russell/chihuahua mix. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone looking to adopt a dog. We love our dog and are thankful we are able to give him a loving forever home.
Such a caring and wonderful facility. We have been donors for years. They have eased our pain, taken care of our fur babies and the day before Christmas Eve, we found a new little boy there to bring home! The staff is great and we are proud to be supporters! Below is our Christmas boy....Chuckie, the night we brought him home and after his Christmas Eve grooming. (our groomer rocks - getting him in on Christmas Eve) Tuesday he's having eye surgery. We're going to do our best to restore this little boy's sight.
I adopted a kitten (Cora) through Peggy Adams in January 2016 and then adopted two more kittens (a sister and brother named Harley and Quinn) in September 2016. Harley and Quinn just love playing with each other and are truly a joy in my home. Cora has learned to also play with them and they run around the house chasing each other every morning. Peggy Adams is truly a fantastic organization to help strays are healthy and find homes. I am grateful to Peggy Adams for the three cats that have found me through their help!
We added two cuddly babies to our family. We couldn't be happier with our experience.
After visiting many times we finally adopted Boots and renamed her Skittles. She is a wonderful addition to our now, two dog home. She was once, what I call , a "junk yard dog", wandering the streets. Now she is adapting quickly to the life of leisure. Eating, playing, loving, learning and sleeping... then repeat. She is so smart and sweet that we cannot imagine our life without her. Bonus, she is a companion to our seven year old dog . Sam.
We had an amazing experience with Peggy Adams' staff. I was first diligent in searching the online site prior to our visit to the facility. There is a "personality match" questionnaire online which best matches you with your potential fur friend. I HIGHLY recommend completing the survey. Pippa matched up with our personality result and she's been a joy ever since we brought her home.
There are no words in any language to describe the beauty of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue people. Having always lived a privileged life, I was devastated to find that I was now flat broke, homeless and living in a park. Circumstances of life, not drugs or alcohol. I was accepted into a homeless program but declined going without my dog, Buddy. God answered every prayer I had and then some. I was given a chance to get back on my feet and Peggy Adams has a program wherein they fostered my dog while I was in the program and allowed fifteen (15) extra days after exiting the program to pick up my dog.
Having been on the street for a little while, his health suffered. As any responsible parent, I was apprehensive about my Buddy being taken from me and placed with other people. Buddy was with Peggy Adams, particularly Sue Jackson as well as her volunteer assistant, Jane, and the whole Peggy Adams staff and was very well taken care of. I have made them his honorary godparents.
I will always be grateful for this agency and its very existence. Rather than call his vet, I will call Sue and Jane with my questions - then his vet to see if he concurs. They returned a very happy, healthy, nearly 11-year-old dog to me. Buddy is a Jack Russell terrier. He is very territorial and playful - especially with tennis balls. Not too sociable with other dogs. He likes his humans all to himself. Somehow Peggy Adams Animal Rescue broke through that. We recently made a visit to let them know we will never forget them and will keep them in our prayers of praise and thanks.
I just wanted to give thanks to the Peggy Adams Foundationfor all the organization does. Jagr has been a perfect match for our teenage son and our other dog. Still working on the housebreaking and what's acceptable behavior, but he's smart as a whip and has a great personality. DON'T ever doubt that you change lives both animals and humans.
Attached picture (BELOW) is Jagr after his first trip to the dog park. He had so much fun!
Merry Christmas from Jagr.
Thank you Peggy Adams for having the perfect dog for our home. We adopted Peony (now known as Penny) and she is such a perfect fit for us. Right from the start she jumped in the car, enjoyed the ride home, and greeted everyone with Love.... humans and dogs... We got a good as expected report on her being she was a stray and not much was known by Peggy Adams. Thank you for giving us our new addition.
I do feel Pearl’s original name Luna (from the shelter) plays a part in my life, as well. Luna is Spanish and the English translation is moon. With that said, Pearl has brought light to my darkness. She has truly touched my heart and soul. We definitely have an unconditional love for one another.
Pearl is the perfect name as she is a special and unique gem. The Bible history about pearls is that God has grains of sand enter the oyster, which irritate the oyster, and it changes over time into a pearl with great value. It's about God breaking things off of us and changing us from the inside out into people (and/or animal) of great Kingdom value. God used Pearl to help change me and break the sadness off my life and she has helped bring great value to my life. She is a true treasure as the pearl/gem that she is, I am truly thankful and grateful to have her as my companion. Thank you, Jesus! Amen.
I LOVE Peggy Adams and all they do for the animals!! I will always support them!! Here's Milo. We gave him a Furever Home when they had free adoption. Of course we donated that day though!
We have adopted cats from Peggy Adams in the past for our family. Each has been a wonderful addition to our family and lived out their lives with us. We recently adopted a Manx kitty for a special friend who lost her husband and suffers from severe depression. The doctor thought an animal would help. WOW! Thank you Peggy Adams for this wonderful addition to my friend's life. She is doing so much better and she and Baby are the best of friends. I would never adopt any animal but a rescue. I have 7 kittys right now and every one is a rescue or adoption. Spay or Neuter. But DON'T ABUSE OR ABANDON! There IS a home for these wonderful babies.
I have been fostering for Peggy Adams for a few years now, and have always had a wonderful experience with them. All the employees are very kind and helpful, and they really care about the animals. I recently adopted a 5 year old cat and was thrilled with the fact that they were able to tell me about the cat's personality and behavior,so I would feel comfortable with the adoption. She is a great cat and a welcome addition to my home. I would recommend Peggy Adams to anyone looking to adopt a furry friend!

I recently adopted a 9 yr old Boxer mix from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. She is such a well trained dog! I am amazed that this dog sat in Animal Care and Control for 2 months without being adopted, and then in Peggy Adams for 2 more months. She is a wonderful dog! I had her thoroughly checked by my vet, and he have my dog a clean bill of health. Please, consider adopting!
We just adopted a lovely girl named Macy! It was a wonderful experience and Michele in adoptions was so helpful, knowledgeable and courteous! The lovely dog we adopted was rescued by HSUS and brought Macy to Peggy Adams for adoption! Macy was very frightened and shut down but the staff worked very hard to get her to the adoption stage! She was still very timid and wary when we met her but I am happy to say that their little wall-flower has blossomed into a lovely flower in a very short time! Macy is a black dog and there seems to be a stigma with black dogs, they do not get easily adopted but may I say to you all that is hog-wash it is temperament that counts not color! Thank you to the staff at Peggy Adams that saw the potential in Macy, she will be loved, cherished and spoiled rotten because of your dedication!
This organization is the best run place for animals...I love visiting this place.
we have won the lottery with Lucky, our new little dog we have not changed the name, the original owners must have given him the. Best training. He is placid, well mannered not greedy, walks beautifully and is house trained.and what a pleasure to deal with Peggy Adams thank you
We had a great experience adopting a dog through Peggy Adams. It is a great organization that really cares for the animals they have, and also takes great care to ensure that their animals are suitable matches for the adoptive parents. We've had our dog for a week and she is truly a great fit for our household.
We adopted Bubba aka Mr.Whiskers :) about a month ago. The experience was just amazing at Peggy Adams. This is the only shelter I didn't shed a tear! The animals looked happy and healthy. You all are doing a great job keep up the good work :)
After walking dogs @ Peggy o days- you get to know each dogs personality. That said, it became apparent that Bugsy was waiting for us to find him. He was so well socialized through daily doggy playdates @ Peggy that his persoanlity is true blue! Clearly, he was our dog! Even though we never intended to adopt, this little guy immediately expanded our daily happiness from the first hour!
One week in and alot of one on one trust building- we have visited the beach, 2 dog parks, and many long walks- followed many naps!! Long story Long - WOW! We can't recommend Peggy Adams enough for what ever positive furry contact you are looking for!!!! See you at the Dog Park!! Jeff and Lisa
My two sons and I visited Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We were looking to adopt a feline friend into our family of three. The staff was very welcoming, and the facility was clean and beautiful. We were given all the time we needed to browse all of the available cats, and to visit with each in their well-kept, glassed-in enclosures. We immediately fell in love with a little kitty named Bunny. The adoption coordinator was very thorough, providing us with all the necessary background information, as well as giving us information on available services, etc. The center also has a wonderful store, well-stocked with everything we needed to begin our journey with Bunny. Our visit was unforgettable, and I highly recommend Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League for all of your adoption needs!
We adopted our dog "Chico" from Peggy Adams 3 weeks ago - what a great experience! The facility was extremely clean, all animals were well cared for and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. When we visited with a few different dogs the staff all knew what they were like and a bit about their personality which helped us make our decision. I can't say enough good things about our experience with them. We love our Chico and when we are ready to adopt again we will definitely be back!
Just fabulous! Wonderful staff, very helpful and friendly! We love our new kitty!
HELLO, MY NAME IS KATINA KRIEGSMANN. I HAD THE UNIQUE PLEASURE OF ADOPTING A FURFRIEND FROM PEGGY ADAMS ANIMAL SHELTER. NIKI WAS SO GRACIOUS AND SUPPORTIVE WHEN I BLUBBERED . THE OTHER STAFF MEMBERS CAME OVER AND STROKED JOE AND CRIED WHILE SAYING FARE WELL TO THEIR FURFRIEND AS WELL.. THE OVERALL ATMOSPHERE WAS FILLED WITH GRATITUDE AND JOY. WE CALL JOE JIGGYJOEJINGLE, HE DOES THE JIG AND BACKWARDS MOON WALK WHILE HIS TAGS(bling) jingle. HE IS KIND TO CHILDREN AND EVERYONE HE COMES ACROSS. NOW EVERYONE WANTS HIM. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY TRUE FUR FRIENDS LIFE!!! TAILWAGS,PAW HUGS AND LOTS OF LICKS!!!
I thought it might be sad to visit the shelter, but it was a really wonderful experience! The staff is very capable and helpful, my adoption counselor spent a good amount of time allowing me to see my new, busy young dog in action & provided lots of very useful background info on the dog. I never felt rushed, I was able to bond with the dog & understand his background.
The shelter is spacious, modern and quite lovely! I left with a beautiful new dog, feeling like I'd just seen a little slice of Heaven, here on Earth for animals in need and the public.
I highly reccomend the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
Riot, (Riot Kaos McFurgason) has been a delightful dog since we adopted him and has adjusted well to our family. He was very excited when we got home and wanted to see everything, he liked our dog Mede and they quickly became friends playing and running. We did find Riot had some of the issues we were told about but with positive reinforcement he responded well. He still has not found the outside of our property and is content just in the area around the outside of the house. After playing hard he is ready for a deep nap. He is loving and truly a great dog!
We cannot thank you enough for allowing Riot to become part of our family.
I have fostered kittens for the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and I recently adopted my puppy from them as well! They do a great job helping animals in our community. I think the spay/neuter program where they catch feral cats, fix them, and then return them is great; it's doing a lot of good to help reduce the number of stray cats. The medical treatment for animals is very fairly priced there, and the staff has been very helpful to me.
My family recently adopted a dog from Peggy Adams. The people who work there, upon walking through the front door, are polite, nice and you can tell they truly care about the animals there. Our adoptive counselor was very helpful and informative with an answer to every question and concern I had. The facility itself is very impresseive and kept up. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to adopt. We are extremely happy with our new addition to the family.
Ashley Marcus and family
I have adopted my last 2 furbabies from Peggy Adams and I can't say enough!! Always the kindest caring staff!! So friendly and helpful!! They really do an amazing job!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Everyone at peggy adams is so genuinely helpful and want the best for the animals as well as the adopters. I had Lee helping me and she was just awsome she helped me find my furevery friend rockstarr (romeo) he could b anymore perfect. And is also benifiting for the training classes they provide.
My experience with Peggy Adams animal rescue was very good. The staff were friendly and they really care for all the animals there. My pet counselor was Caring and knowledgeable. She made the adoption process very quick and simple. My boyfriend and I ended up adopting a 6 1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix. Her name is "BOO".
She is such a sweet and polite little lady. I'm very happy we found each other.
I would highly recommend Peggy Adams to anyone wanting a new addition in their life
Peggy Adams is absolutely amazing. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. Everyone there truly cares about the animals and do their best to provide them with excellent care. I adopted my dog from Peggy Adams. During her younger puppy months she had a terrible fracture but over time was brought back to health thanks to Peggy Adams. Now she is a happy and healthy member of the family. We couldn't be happier.
I went in to Peggy Adams a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the facility. Everyone working there seemed to really love all the animals and they looked like they were taken care of very well. I ended up adopting a kitten. Her name is now Alice and she is the cutest! She had a cold and had to bring her back to the vet there and they took us in a timely matter and she received her medicine. Needless to say she is doing fabulous now. I would definitely recommend Peggy Adams!
Wanting to adopt a kitten, I went to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue Center. After seeing all the kittens and all of the cats in the very orderly and clean surroundings, I spotted a one year plus cat named Jade (now Gadoo). It was an immediate match. However, I hesitated because I thought I wanted a kitten. As it turns out, I did adopt her and could not be happier. AND, I must say that everyone I spoke with in the process was knowledgable, professional and kind. Peggy Adams was recommended to me and now I am doing the same.
