What a marvelous experience it has been getting acquainted with The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. We went in to adopt one dog our Woody and came home with 2 cats as well. LILY AN ALL BLACK 18 MONTH OLD CAT has quite the personality. Then Chloe our 10.5 year old black and white cat. Please if you are looking for a pet consider rescue FIRST!!!!! Peggy Adams was clean and staff well trained and friendly.
We adopted Simone from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in May. We were impressed by the staff and cleanliness of the facility. There were so many sweet dogs and cats that needed homes; you could tell the staff cared about all of them. We spent most of the day visiting with all the cats. When we decided to adopt Simone we met with the counselors who wanted to ensure she was going to a safe home. They also provided us with all the information about Simone and her medical history. Simone was a four year old cat that had a sad life. As we took Simone towards the door to take her home one young staff woman teared up and said she was so happy that Simone had found a home. We had an excellent experience with Peggy Adams and would highly recommend them to our friends and family.
Our experience with adopting our dog at Peggy Adams was amazing. They were thorough in their interview with us and gave us all the support we could need. I'm amazed at the genuine happiness the volunteers showed when we picked our dog. They gave us as much information as they had on her and followed up consistently to see how she was doing. They were also very helpful with the medication she needed and what to expect with her personality and breed. Would definitely adopt there again. You can tell they work hard to find the right fit for animals.
After reviewing several shelters for an adoptive dog, our search stopped at Peggy Adams! First the area's for the animals was clean well cared for and almost without odor. The facility had more then enough staff walking and exercising the animal not to mention the building inside and out looked as it has been very well cared for.
The staff member who helped us with the adoption was Lori Baltunis. She knew all about our "Quincy"! She did all the paper work and helped us with any question. In short order we were on our way home with our new baby. In short Quincy was a great animal from the start. House broken and has never missed. He is affectionate lovable, and a great addition to our family. There were no surprises as Lori was right on the mark with all Quincy's needs and expectations.
We have been, so happy we made an additional visit back to make a special donation to Peggy Adams, to continue the great work on behalf of all needy animals. I couldn't speak any higher to the dedication and support given by the staff and wonderful shelter.
The Peggy Adams Rescue League has promoted so many beneficial programs for the well being of animals. They make it possible for so many animals to be saved and adopted into loving homes. Their facilities are top notch, extremely clean and their staff is exemplary. I am honored to work with them.
People treated with respect and dignity. Animals treated with kindness and compassion. Knowledgeable professionals and volunteers. This place has a lot of heart and enough smarts to back it up wisely. I just can't say enough wonderful things about Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
The Peggy Adams facility has made it possible for hundreds of feral cats to be spayed and neutered since their new facility opened. Their dedication to our efforts to reduce the population of homeless cats in Palm Beach County is admirable. We cannot thank them enough for all they do!!! Elayne Gooding, President, Palm Beach County Cat Coalition.
My husband and I found our Lola, a Black Lab/Beagle Mix at Peggy Adams. We had come to Peggy Adams after our first dog died to find a new household member. We looked at several of the available dogs but could not make up our mind. Our adoption counselor suggested we visit with Lola---the counselor was a match maker!! Lola was a wonderful companion and we treasured having her in our lives. Sadly, we lost Lola to kidney disease in April 2011 and once again the caring staff helped us say good-bye. A few weeks later our lonely home was filled with another Peggy Adams adoptee--this time it was a beagle/jack russell mix romping throughout our household!
I thought about the moment many times in my Labrador "Dakota's "life....that one day may come to have to make a decision regarding his life . Ofcourse, this always brought tears to my eyes at just the thought, and then that one day arrived. I was lost!! The staff at Peggy Adams was there to help walk me through this process and guide me as to what to do and what to expect in euthanizing the most amazing friend and animal I have ever known. They treated him with such extraordinary compassion and care so he was to be as comfortable as he could be. What was so special is they did the same for me and understood what I was going through and as they do this day in and day out, I was the most important client/friend/animal owner/griever at that moment. As horrible of a day that was I could not ask for a better experience as I wished my pal well as he went off to the Rainbow Bridge . A few months have passed and we brought another new furry friend into the family in which once again I would call on the services at Peggy Adams to now Spay my new puppy. Their services were again, as I trusted them with a new little life, impectable!! It is nice to know that as they see so many animals everyday that they still have so much love for all these pets and no one ever becomes a "number".
When I moved to North Palm Beach, I wanted to find out more about this shelter. I went on a tour and was blown away. The facility is truly state of the art and very different from the shelters I knew in other parts of the country. The animals are cared for extremely well. The kennel is so clean that you could eat off the floor. I'm proud to support Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and will be including them in my will.
I've adopted 2 dogs from Peggy Adams and both have and continue to bring so much joy to my life. The staff at Peggy Adams are so knowledgeable and caring. They take pride in the work that they do and it shows. Since I've adopted, I also bring them back for vaccinations. With their affordable prices and educated staff, I highly encourage others to bring their pets, too! It's also nice to see how they help the community with their TNR programs and Community Outreach. They plan so many wonderful events such as their annual Walk for the Animals & Photos with Santa. I look forward to going to these yearly! Thank you staff of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League for all you do!
I am the reporter for the local Fox station in West Palm Beach who has the honor of profiling the Fox 29 Pet of the Week. It's always a wonderful day when I get to enter Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League's doors and see how well they are sheltering and caring for dogs and cats in need of good homes. The building is always in tip-top shape, the animals are loved on, and the employees are more than kind. Peggy Adams also does wonderful events throughout the year to bring pet lovers together and raise funds for our orphaned animals. But more than anything, I'm forever indebted to them for bringing me together with my little dog, Willie. He's the star of my life. I can't thank them enough for taking great care of him before he became mine. I'm proud to be called a rescue mom! Sincerely, Rachel Leigh, Fox 29
Peggy Adams is great. They are such an amazing shelter and amazing part of the community. I love going to their events they put on (and bring my dogs) - especially their annual walk for the animals. Thank you for all that you do. :)
Peggy Adams is a wonderful part of the community. I have fostered 4-5 dogs from Peggy Adams - 2 became permant members of our house. Neither would have made it out of another shelter since they needed heartworm treatment. They also have a wonderful program for feral cats - offering to fix them and provide shots for $35. There is a low cost spay and neuter program for pets as well.
I had lost my Sharpei who I had in my life for 15 years/ I went to the website and saw a Bulldog for adoption/ The next day I went to Peggy Adams and became the dad to Dozer. Just a couple of months later I found that the people who surrended Dozer had deceived the staff by not telling them of a condition he had. Unfortunately Dozer had to be put down breaking my heart but the Staff allowed me to be with him so the last thing he heard was my voice telling him I loved him.. Heartbroken I did not think I would ever allow another dog in my life but the Adoption Staff especially Lori knew better and she called me to tell me of a loving female english bulldog named Adrianne.I went up to Peggy Adams thinking I would look at her and go home. I waited outside for Lori to bring Adrianne out. The next thing I knew I had a lap full of Love kissing my face all over. Long Story short Adrianne and I will mark two love filled years this coming February. People a Shelter Dog is the best dog because they really appreciate their forever home and will give you more love than you could ever give them back
Wonderful place! We adopted our beautiful cat Simba, several years ago and she is the light of our lives. We were given very helpful advice and the people there were friendly and very excited to see Simba go to a good home. Without Peggy Adams, we would not have this amazing girl in our lives, so I thank you for allowing us to adopt her.
