After graduation from college, it also meant parting ways with organizations that set-up structured volunteer opportunities that I can get involved in, which is why I am glad to stumble upon Pathways to Volunteering. So far, I have attended two of the organization’s events – Midnight Mission and Big Sunday. At Midnight Mission I had the chance to serve food for the homeless as well as learn about the organization’s purpose, goal, and tour of their building prior to the dinner service. In this volunteer opportunity, I was also given the chance to hear about the stories of individuals who were former recipients of the Midnight Mission and it is heartwarming to see them give back to the organization. More recently, I participated at Big Sunday’s 3rd Annual Vet’s Night and Dinner, where I was given the opportunity to write letters for our troops and also participate in a dinner celebrating our veterans – which included trivia games and a chance to see a performance by New Directions Veteran’s Choir. Midnight Mission and Big Sunday are just two of the many volunteer opportunities made possible by Pathways to Volunteering. I look forward to doing more volunteer opportunities with this organization. I would definitely recommend Pathways to Volunteering with others as participating in this organization is always a time well-spent and fun. Thanks Craig for spearheading this organization!

I found pathways last December when I was looking for a place for us to help out during the holidays. Craig replied right away and said he could have us come last minute. It was a wonderful experience meeting him and other members of the team. We helped and served Christmas lunch at a homeless shelter and we were excited to be part of a group that has great knowledge of what's going on in the community and shares with us ways to.give back. I also love that there are events that are family friendly where we can share with our kids how important it is to give to the community. Thank you Craig and pathways for providing us with these opportunities! It has been very rewarding and a lot of fun!

What I love about Pathways To Volunteering is because it has a great leader and a group of awesome volunteers!!

They do all the research on where need help. They provide detail information about each event. Super organized! The volunteer events are different each time, either with children, homeless, senior, food bank, etc. You can choose what area you are passion about. Also, it helps me to explore other different places that need volunteers.

I always have great time volunteering with Pathways To Volunteering because the leader, Craig, and his volunteers work so well as a team. And we all really enjoy helping others!!

I discovered 'Pathways to Volunteering' through the organizer, Craig. I had volunteered for some of his events in the past before the inception of this organization, and was enthralled with his devotion and passion. Being a transplant from Maryland, I had very few connections and wanted to involve myself in the community. Craig's mission and goals aligned with mine--giving a helping hand to those less fortunate. I was going through a difficult time in my life, but by donating my time and heart in this selfless act, it gave me a sense of purpose and happiness. Knowing that a simple gesture can make a difference in someone else's life can really boost your morale. From serving food and entertaining veterans during the holidays (this can be a peak time of loneliness for those without families), to playing games and chaperoning children of poverty and abuse, there is no volunteering opportunity you can't find with Pathways to Volunteering to meet what you're looking for. I highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to give back and put a smile on someone's face. You'll be glad you did it.

As a member of a women's organization, we wanted to find ways to serve and give back to the community. I was introduced to Craig and Pathways to Volunteering when I began volunteering at a veteran's event. It was great working with Craig. The experience was very rewarding and I now volunteer regularly at this event. Through Pathways to Volunteering, I have been able to discover events in which to volunteer that fit my schedule and interests. It has given me the opportunity to help others who are in need, meet and work with new people and make a positive impact in the lives of others. If you are looking to volunteer, Pathways to Volunteering is a great "go to" resource for finding many different opportunities to do so.

I met Craig, the organizer of Pathways many years ago, and he always has such positive energy, it's always a pleasure to volunteer with him. I really appreciate him starting Pathways to Volunteering, because he understands that people don't always know where to go and how to go about donating their time to worthy causes. It's great to have a centralized organization where you know you can always find volunteer opportunities.

For many years I sat on the sidelines, wishing to volunteer my time, but not knowing how to get involved or who to contact to get started. Pathways to Volunteering changed all that. Craig and Pathways to Volunteering made community service accessible, diverse, and fun! From a review of their calendar I was able to sign up for events that interested me and that I could fit in my schedule. In the last year I had a chance to volunteer at an orphanage, the VA hospital, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, a carnival setting for high risk youths, and the junior blind Olympics. Not only were each of these events memorable, they were meaningful and left a lasting impression on my soul. Pathways made volunteering a reality for me and it can do that same for you
too.

In my experience, Pathways to Volunteering is a great facilitator of doing good deeds and perpetuating good will and feeling all across the diverse Los Angeles community and in Orange County, including an orphanage in Mexico. I am proud to be part of this group who has compassion, integrity, civility, and humanity towards all and aids many other nonprofit groups regardless of particular creed. I only wish my own personal goals and obligations would not prevent me from participating more, as I definitely benefit greatly (beyond words can express) from the respectful organic structure of the "circle of communication and helpfulness" in many ways, (as Gloria Steinem says "link in a chain") as do all recipients hopefully, as opposed the current common societal structure and limited communication of the diagram of the triangle of hierarchy- and ultimately the goal of instant gratification and monetary profit, which rarely benefits all, and leads to many more problems in this particular popular flow chart. I highly recommend Pathways to anyone who would like to further compassion, humanity and goodwill among the diverse groups of good people we belong to in this world who have the privilege and freedom of understanding that giving, sharing and being kind are the greatest successes in life.

I got involved with Pathways to volunteering through Craig. I was interested in exposing my daughters to volunteering work and teaching them compassion, empathy so that they can in turn learn to be better people and affect the world and others in a good way. I had found an event that Craig was hosting and I told him that I wanted my daughters to be involved as well. I was instantly impressed with how Craig took into consideration of the ages of my daughters, what their abilities were and how he could involve them. Craig made sure that we all mattered and that we had something that we could do that was within our abilites. One of my daughters has disabilities and is very very shy, yet she was never excluded from any of the volunteer activities and she was made to feel like she was able to contribute. After our first volunteer event together, we just kept volunteering whenever something came up that was a good match for us. Craig would also notify me and gave my daughters and I more great opportunities to continue to volunteer. To me, not only was this a great humanitarian thing to do. But above all else I valued the important opportunities that afforded my children for growth and learning, to become better human beings. I have volunteered on my own and also with other groups and I can say that volunteering with Craig has by far been the very best because he always looks out for his volunteers welfare first and foremost. The events are always good meaningful events that has good impact for the recipient and the volunteers. Craigs events also are generally much more organized than most. I would definitely recommend the group that he has created. If you want to make a difference in our world but don't have the time to search for causes than definitely work with Pathways to Volunteering. It's a great group of people and you will find yourself making life long friends with people who are comitted and caring!

I started to volunteer with Pathways to Volunteering since I met Craig (the leader of this organization) at the other volunteering activity. I came with my wife, and I was talking with him about how we see volunteering, how we want to help this society. I thought my view matched with his view very well, and decided to join. He was passionate, dedicated, and what he wanted to do was quite clear and promising.

I usually go to volunteering activities with children, since I highly care about children education. I attended Junior blind olympic, Day of child, Facility for handicapped children, and Alexandria house (shelter).
Their early education and education largely affect their physical and mental development, and our helping hands definitely brought positive changes for them. Children need more love and attention, and we tried hard to give them more than they might usually get. Although I was volunteering, I've never thought that I was spending my time for nothing. Whenever I saw their shining eyes, I felt like I got the most valuable thing in the world, and it made me be more energetic, motivated for anything. It is always good to know and feel that someone needs you in this world. There are so many children and people who need our help, and your future participation will gradually change our society and you will definitely learn something valuable from your experience. Please take your first step to the pathway to volunteering!

I've known Pathways to volunteering group through Craig, who also the creator of this group. Before that, I met Craig through different volunteering meetup events and it were organized by him. This group is awesome in term of planning and organizing tasks. I had a chance to volunteer with the group to serve food for homeless at the Congregational church in Long Beach last weekend. It was well planed and a productive event. I look forward to volunteer with Pathways to Volunteering group again in future.

Five stars... all the way!!!!
The power of social media and it connects people is amazing! There's this SoCal Volunteer facebook group that has anybody from LA to OC to the IE. One of the members had put out a call for volunteers and i had responded a few days later asking if he (Craig) was still looking for volunteers. He responded yes so that's when i started asking around colleagues and friends to join me! The day had arrived and between our group and Pathways to Volunteering, we just clicked. Everybody was very friendly, welcoming and it felt like a unity. We got to work and we all worked as a team and knocked it out of the park! Another successful day in the books with a lot more heartfelt memories to share. TY Pathways to Volunteering for your continued outreach and open arms to your fellow colleagues in the OC! Looking forward to more adventures with you!
