This is by far the best place I've Volunteered. Attention to animal care is the number one priority. The facility and dietary need of each animal are catered to with attention also to enrichment for the cats. I would recommend everyone to call for a tour, I can guarantee you'll be amazed, Judy is amazing and the cats are extraordinary.
This is the most beautiful facility I've ever volunteered for. Attention to the dietary and enrichment needs of each individual cat make Panther Ridge CC stand out as an exceptional Conservation Center.
Having volunteered at several facilities across the Country, I have to put Panther Ridge Conservation center at the top of my list. Habitats, diets and enrichment plans for the cats go way above standard and resident felines receive a level of exceptional care. Tours for guests are unparalleled. Fully guided, visitors never need to walk past an enclosure wondering "did they see all there was to be seen." At the end of an approximate two hours, guests leave with an expanded knowledge of not only each species but each individual cat's special story.
Panther Ridge is a wonderful place where abandon and abused wild cats find a caring, clean, loving, safe home. I have seen changes in the demeanor of many cats that now know that they found a home where they can live the rest of their lives being just a cat. PantherRidge don't just feed, house and take care of their residents medical need, they have many enrichment programs and volunteers that spend time with each resident. Its a wonderful place to visit, where adults and children get a education on conservation, and become passionate about this magnificent creatures . The fate of this cats would be unthinkable if not for this corner of Cat heaven. Panther Ridge defines the word Sanctuary!
I have had the privileged also of beeing a volunteer in the past, and I now help with fundraising and its a wonderful place. Everyone that visits can see how well they take care of cats, how clean and beautiful it is! A paradise for abused, abandoned cats! Judy is a special lady and Panther Ridge is a place were you can be sure your donations is going towards the cats well beeing!
Outstanding sanctuary. The respect the staff has for the large cats is immense. The facility is impeccably kept and does a fantastic job in community outreach, education and conservation. It is humbling to see the love for these animals and their love for Judy and her staff.
Panther Ridge is a true sanctuary for the animals that live there. It is probably the cleanest animal sanctuary I have ever seen. The director, Judy Berens, and her staff and volunteers truly care about these animals and the cats are healthy, happy and social. What a great place for big cats that have been neglected, abused, or abandoned to live out the rest of their lives.
Last Saturday, four of us gals went you to visit Judy Berens and her fabulous facility. Her staff was extremely, knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a wonderful tour, introducing us to each of the exquisite exotic cats they have at their facility. The facility is kept immaculately and the cats are truly loved by all, and extremely healthy and happy. Judy is passionate about her 'babies' and it truly shows! She has truly devoted her life, not only to her own cause, but to other similar causes around the world, never ceasing to pursue further knowledge. She truly lives for her cause. I will most definitely take other friends out to see the beautiful world she has created for those very lucky cats.
On Saturday afternoon a few high school students and myself visted Panther Ridge and had the opportunity to see the cats Scott gave our group the tour of these beautiful animals; it was an enjoyable experience being so close to them and hearing their different stories. The grounds and their cages were clean and free of any kind of debris. Judy and her staff were all welcoming, friendly and very informative, an afternoon well spent.
Beautiful, happy, healthy large cats in a clean country setting. They love their mom Judy!
Judy Berens is one of those rare people who has seen a need to help and devoted her life to making a difference. She has only one employee and yet her resident cats clearly are healthy and happy, which takes a huge effort. How I wish I could be one of those Grand Benefactors who commits to covering the cost of care for one of the cats, though I don't know how I would decide.
The two+ hours we spent at Panther Ridge were amazing. Judy and her staff were warm and wonderful. Their knowledge of the animals in their care and the problems faced by species in the wild was staggering. The animals in residence were exceedingly well-cared for as evidenced by the happy purrs, chirping, and huffs. It was amazing to see these big cats act like playful kittens when they heard Judy's voice around the corner. The property is immaculately kept, and other than the occupational hazard of "big cat spraying" it was a very pleasant walk around to see all of the residents.
The time spent at Panther Ridge provides a greater understanding of the challenges faced by cats in the wild. The team there really know their stuff by heart. And heart is everywhere at Panther Ridge!
Thank you all for what you do for these vulnerable animals! You have changed their lives for sure.
An hour spent at Panther Ridge will change the way you view wildlife! This is a beautiful property dedicated to helping exotic felines and educating the public about their behaviors. The staff is devoted and passionate about caring for these magnificent animals. Each cat will leave you with a lasting impression of their individual personalities. As an early childhood educator, this experience enriched my knowledge of endangered species. I'm so fortunate I had the opportunity to tour this facility!
We spent a wonderful afternoon at Panther Ridge Conservation Center. We were personally greeted by Judy Berens and Scott upon our arrival. Scott led us on an amazing tour, introduced us to each of the magnificent cats, and explained the history, temperament, and personality of each resident. He answered all of our questions with such insight into animal behavior and knowledge about these great cats. The grounds are beautiful too. This is a fantastic way to view exotic cats at close range and learn about their natural behavior.
My mother and I went to Panther Ridge on a break home from college and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The owner, Judy Berens is an amazing woman who, along with her staff, dedicate their lives to creating an absolutely impeccable habitat and life for these cats. The grounds are maintained perfectly with every single need taken into consideration. The love Judy shows for the cats is definitely evident when she walks into the cage and they purr and rub against her in delight. It truly is a miracle to see all she has done for these beautiful animals. I would advise everyone, young and old to make it a priority to contribute to this great cause and see the facilities themselves. I cannot wait to return!
sometimes when someone suggests you should do something, someone who is thoughtful and brings meaning to her life, someone who is articulate and adventurous, sometimes you should take that person's suggestion, as i did, two weeks ago when i visited PANTHER RIDGE CONSERVATION CENTER in wellington. my expectations of panther ridge were high, frankly, and yet still, those expectations were BLAM! way exceeded. the grounds/facility are meticulously gorgeous, and the planning that goes into enclosures worthy of the cats is brilliant.
i mean, i LOVE cats of all sizes. i find them so smart and funny and athletic and of course, shockingly beautiful. but to see these big kitties up close and to experience them w/owner ms. judy berens, is in a completely different dimension. the way judy moves among the cats is so purposeful, respectful and loving--and the education she imparts to panther ridge guests is invaluable. bottom line, we must save the cats.
i love all of judy's cats, charlie, aztec, his daughter isabella (that little flirt), amos, dudas, audrey and randy, machoman, all of them! i encourage people to make an appointment to visit, and if you are unable, pls consider a contribution. yes, our tickets were a generous gift, but we happily paid again. afterall, we were given so much. bravo to judy berens, panther ridge, and the lucky and happy cats who live there. i can't wait to visit again.
I have been to Panther Ridge two time over the past couple of years. The experience is better than any zoo i've ever visited. Judy takes you and your guests on a personal two hour tour, showing you all her beautiful cats. It's an educational tour that leaves you wanting to help these precious cats existance. The grounds are miticulously manicured and well maintained, as are all the enclosures. You can see how all the volenteers genuenly care about their duties and the animals well being.
I've always loved animals of all kind. One visit to Panther Ridge and you instantly feel a connection w/these beautiful cats. I have too many favorites to name ie; Bella, Amoes... my heart melts everytime i visit her web site to admire the pictures. It's a pure joy to see how well Judy takes care of these cats, as she feeds them by hand. She truely is like a Mother to them all, and the love they have for her is easily witnessed. I can't wait to go back, and at least know that some cats are truely loved and cared for in this world live in.... Thanks to all who make a differance.
Panther Ridge is top notch - you can tell that these beautiful cats are well loved and well cared for. The owner, Judy, will give you a personal tour, and in some cases, go into a cats enclosure. The cat will go right up to Judy, weave through and around Judy's legs, and immediately start to purr... Incredible way to see some phenomenal large cats up close and personal. Highly recommend.
I have gone to many Large Cat sanctuaries and THIS IS THE ONLY ONE that has treated the cats with dignity and respect. They live on a beautiful estate to live on and are loved and cared for as if they each were the only one on the premises. You can take PRIVATE tours!! The owner takes you!! Judy Berens, the owner is one of the most compassionate people you will ever meet. It is a truly wonderful experience, one you or anyone in your party will never forget. Prepare to dress comfortably, bring water and bring everyone you have ever wanted to impress with a true up close experience with large felines!!! Thank you Judy for all you do! You are amazing!!!
My boyfriend arranged for an amazing tour at Panther Ridge for my birthday. If you love big cats, this is a must-see! After we parked the car, our gaze immediately went to a large cheetah walking a lengthy fenceline. He seemed happy to greet the visitors. It was very cool to see Judy brush and feed Charley the Cheetah, and to watch him enjoy all the attention. I was very happy to see the ample acreage he has to roam. The shade trees and fans were nice, to ward off the Florida heat for both us and the cats. I especially liked visiting Audrey and Brandy, two new cougars to the facility. They definitely are lucky they have this new home. It was definitely a "once in a lifetime" experience to see such magnificent animals up close, and so happy.
Panther Ridge is a crown jewel. The 1st time I went there, for an animal communication seminar, Charlie Cheetah walked towards me when I arrived to greet me. I was hooked! He looked so regal in his magnificent, lush 2 acres enclosure. I thought I was in heaven. Judy Berens, who founded this feline paradise, has a knowledge on cats second to none. She has a very wholistic approach with her big cat family. From exquisite diet to daily enrichment, nothing is spared for the well being of theses lucky felines. The enclosures are big, spotless, odorless, shady, all made out of natural material. No laying on concrete at Panther Ridge! Jaguars have private pools! Everyone has a fan pointed to their favorite hang out spot, toys, treats... And most important a forever home! Thanks to an outstanding team of workers and volunteers, lead by Judy and animal trainer extraordinaire Scott, this place is truly precious, a must see on everyone's list when you visit south Florida!
An amazing facility. Was truly impressed with how well-maintained the animals' habitats were. The grounds were immaculate as well. Judy and Scott were extremely knowledgeable about all the cats there. One thing I truly enjoyed was the ample amount of time we had with each cat. I enjoyed the fact of being extremely up close and being able to hear some of them purr, and take fabulous photos also. I definitely recommend this sanctuary.
