Pandas International is unlike most endangered species non-profits in that their focus is on ONE species - the Giant Panda. By working directly with the panda base and experts in China, I know that Pandas International targets funding to exactly what is needed to serve the staff and the pandas. I'm honored to be a part of such a great organization.
Pandas International is a fabulous organization that not only educates the public regarding the plight of the giant panda but also funds conservation projects, breeding programs, and reintroduction programs for these endangered bears.
Their Pennies for Panda program is a great way for young children to give to something! It's an educational program that not only teaches them about the Pandas, but teaching a child to give is something we should have learned at a young age.
Pandas International has been instrumental in providing much needed support for the raising, protection and conservation of giant pandas. Among other things, they have helped with providing special milk formula for new born pandas, incubators in which to raise orphan new born pandas, educational displays at the research center, planting bamboo for pandas in the nature reserve.
I know first hand how much the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda and other wildlife rescue centers have benefitted and appreciate the support of Pandas International.
I have attended many fund raisers for Pandas International in the Denver, CO, metro area. At each one, the demonstrate their commitment to preserving these endangered animals and raising public awareness to their plight. I feel like my donations and participation in the fund raisers are making a difference. I hope to someday join Pandas International on a trip to China to see first hand how they are making a difference. This is a great organization to support.
I have attended several fund raising activities and have always been impressed with the director and board and the worthiness of this charity. This group goes way above and beyond.
I've been exceptionally impressed by the dedication if Panda's International toward the protection of the giant panda. In addition to public awareness, the organization provides for the fundamental needs of the panda centers managed by the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. The support includes vital medications for the pandas, X-ray and medical equipment, funding for researchers and scientists, panda enrichment and funding to support the daily needs of the reserves. No other organization is more committed to saving the Giant Panda.
I have volunteered with Pandas International, since joining one of their 2010 tours in China, and adopted a cub Hu Xiao, since 2010. I also support the work of Pandas International by bringing enrichment toys to the pandas. I assist in fundraising through donations of items and attend their annual dinner in February in Denver.
As the Volunteer Director and Board member of Pandas International, going to China once a year to observe how our support is being implemented at the Panda Centers is one of the greatest times of the year. Hand carrying supplies in heavy luggage and long flights is quickly forgotten at the sight of Giant Pandas. Seeing the staff caring for the pandas and knowing Pandas International is having an impact by providing formula, incubators, vaccines, basic hospital supplies, advanced training for staff, etc. is a wonderful feeling. Doing all I can to help save this magnificent species is extremely fulfilling. Seeing cubs in incubators PI has provided and getting formula PI has provided and staff helping the cubs to nurse is just truly inspirational. So as we say- Endangered means we have time- Extinction is Forever!
I came across Pandas International earlier this year and was immediately impressed with their ability to deliver on their mission -- providing public awareness and education (through strategic partnerships with panda reserves and multimedia organizations like explore.org), supporting research and promoting habitat preservation. The importance of Giant Pandas is a difficult message to deliver to a global audience, many of whom may never see them in real life, and Pandas International does an incredible job of connecting people to these amazing animals.
My daughter (18 yrs) and I were travelling in China for a month and volunteered at Bifengxia Panda Center for a day. It took us 2 hours by private car to get there from Chengdu and we spent the most wonderful day at the Centre. We looked after a Panda breeding enclosure with Ebu and Chengdu our pandas.
We mucked out the outdoor area as well as their indoor sleeping and eating area. Break up the bamboo and replace it in the outdoor area. We got to cut up apples, carrots and 'Panda cake' for their morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and hand fed them with the trainer close by. What an amazing experience. Lots of photo opportunities.
We ate lunch with all the Chinese employees and spent about an hour when the park was closed over lunch watching the baby pandas play in the Kindergarten enclosure!
We would definitely go back for longer than a day next time!

Pandas International is a wonderful non-profit that encourages and educates all panda lovers to help save the pandas.
not a great charity....no much help for endangered species and panda. All work is done now for Chinese to save wild habitat in China!
A great little non-profit that understands the needs of the endangered panda. They focus on the tactical requirements, and have made a significant contribution to saving this species. Their goal of replanting bamboo is the type of focused activity that will have a huge impact in the effort to save the wild giant panda.
Pandas International is an awesome organization! How many people in this world think that pandas are precious but don't realize how rare they have become or how hard a fight is required just to save their kind?! "Not many" is my belief. People smile, laugh, and enjoy them but they don't realize that they must do something to help this species to survive! Pandas International helps people to understand just what these wonderful animals are up against and all the needs they have in order to continue to survive in the wild. What's more, the organization helps people to actually feel that they are "hands on" in helping the pandas to survive by donating to specific funds for milk, bamboo, etc. I personally love knowing that when I send money it is going specifically where I want it to go. Most organizations don't offer the opportunity to specify exactly what you want your donation used for. It helps me to feel more involved and more valuable as a donor - more a part of truly helping these animals rather than having my donation go to pay "administrative expenses" and so on. And finally, I love the fact that Pandas International invites people to go on yearly tours of China & (most of all) our beloved panda reserves every year - it is comforting to know that you have the opportunity to enjoy such an experience with people who have done it before and know what to expect from all aspects of the tour. To me, pandas show a whimsical side of God that I truly adore -they are so unbelieveably interesting and lovable. THANK YOU PANDAS INTERNATIONAL FOR ALL THAT YOU DO TO SUPPORT THE CONTINUED EXISTENCE OF THESE WONDERFUL AND UNIQUE ANIMALS that are irreplaceable. I am very pleased to be able to have my say on this organization. Thank You, Sincerely, Michele Stevens
I have supported PI from it's inception volunteering for events... PI helps with donations of milk for panda babies and bamboo for all pandas! without PI's support and dedication we wouldn't be able to love all of these wonderful bears!
I first heard of Pandas International a number of years ago. I started donating monthly about 5 years ago to the milk fund and later to the bamboo fund. In 2009 adopted Hao Hao, Hua Mei's daughter. I continue and will continue that adoption now and in the future. The quarterly updates that PI sends are illuminating as to her growth and antics. (She is a definite character.) I have also purchased gear from PI and felt that it was a good value in support of a good cause. I heartily endore Pi as a Green 2012 organization.
During its eleven year history, PI has become a global leader in the fight to save the endangered giant Panda. With a small staff of three part time employees and an unpaid director, PI has been able to supply panda centers with formual for cubs, critical medical equipment and supllies for the veterinarians, educational materials through its website, www.pandasinternational.org, and is currently engaged in a bamboo replanting campaign to help counter the loss of native bamboo due to the horrific earthquake of 2008, torrential spring rains of 2009-2010, and unusually heavy snows and disasterous floods in 2011. Theyt have quickly become a recognized and respected player in wildlife conservation and sustainable habitat protection.
Pandas Int'l is a great nonprofit group. I've been to two of their fundraising dinners and was impressed both times by the food and speeches. They are a passionate group of people.
Always fond of the cutest, cuddliest "bear", I was fortunate to meet the founders of Pandas International, Diane and Suzanne in 2001. Discovering their passion for the panda, as I was about to embark on my first trip to China, they assisted myself and 3 companions on a side trip to the Woolong Panda Reserve where we were able to visit what we thought would be a "zoo". Surprised when there we were able to realize how endangered the panda really was and how lucky we were to be able to watch, hold and even feed a cub during our days at Woolong. Returning home, I knew I needed to do more to ensure extinction was not the next phase.
I am proud to be a board member since that time and am thrilled that companies like my employer, MLT Vacations and my husbands, Suncor Energy have also become supporters of this rare and precious animal.
Please donate, volunteer, and ask your company for a donation or sponsorship of a Pandas International event.
You really can change the future by simply spreading the message.
Pandas International is a wonderful organization. They bring recognition to the highly endangered Giant Panda. Their work has inspired many to become involved with not only pandas but other endangered species. The world is a better place with Giant Pandas in it and the pandas are lucky to have Suzanne Braden and Pandas International!
