There is really no other organization like the Pachamama Alliance - driven by passion to envision a just, sustainable, fulfilling world for all beings and grounded in such deep integrity and authenticity. Since volunteering at the annual luncheon last year I have participated in several events: Awakening the Dreamer symposium, Game Changer Intensive, Awakening the Dreamer facilitator training, etc. Pachamama Alliance not only offers the tools to create a better world, they empower individuals to become change makers and instill confidence that we all have a role to play in addressing huge issues like climate change. And the alliance is 95% individual donor funded, giving them even greater integrity (not being funded by corporations with special interests.)
The impact the Awakening the Dreamer - Changing the Dream had on individuals in our community in the Sea to Sky Corridor of British Columbia, BC was simply profound. People from all walks demonstrated a deep connection with the materials throughout each phase & Swiamish residents touched by the event supported it through a heavy snow fall, a myriad of other conflicting events and many didn't want to leave the event afterwards, staying on to talk for hours about potential next steps. Our experience felt supported yet challenged us to work through the material as partners in the venture, inspiring a rich curiosity around each phase of the material, and we enjoyed the additional time spent Together working out the kinks [now ironed out by this highly accountable organization. Their integrity & forthrightness are a balm to the spirit & we have so much gratitude for our hearts have been blown wide by the material & intention behind it that mived through us all that day. THANK YOU FOR THIS TREASURED EXPERIENCE! We will host it again in the coming year
I look for two things in choosing nonprofits to support and found them both in the Pachama Alliance:
1) one whose purpose or mission I related to the most: while Pachamama Alliance's started with the focus on empowering indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest to preserve their lands and culture, it has broadened to educate and inspire individuals everywhere to bring forth a thriving, just and sustainable world. In plainer terms, for me, that means to be conscious as we consume, buy and use things, about what we truly value and want to leave for future generations.
2) how the nonprofit conducts itself in pursuing their mission; e.g., the leadership being paid too much, is their efficiency in getting funding to the purpose of the organization, is the focus consistently on the mission and are results being achieved.
The Pachamama Alliance fulfilled and exceeded both of these for me over the 15 years that I supported it.
I support Pachamama Alliance. Their outcomes of "delivering educational programs to thousands of participants, helping them awaken to the needs of our time, and become=ing inspired to take action for a just and sustainable future" is so meaningful.
Pachamama Alliance is, in so many ways, the answer to the question I had long been asking: is there a single non-profit organization that resonates with my values and my Vision that I can align my life with? Last year, I realized that I was a member of numerous organizations that were all doing good work on the whole, but that I was doing little of that work myself. Though each organization had meaning for me, only Pachamama Alliance connected with me in a holistic, affirming, fully empowering way. It took a wake up call (literally) from a friend in Brazil to remind me what a jewel of the Amazon and what a great hope for the World the Pachamama Alliance is. And now I am all-in! I love Pachamama Alliance and the great colorful hope this organization brings to the World!
I first volunteered 45 years ago, and participated in my first political campaign 40 years ago. It wasn't until I connected with Pachamama Alliance two years ago I finally found a social enterprise that offered not just opportunities to serve and to do good, but also education in effective social and political change grounded in best practices from both ancient indigenous and contemporary wisdom teachings; support for building and sustaining local, engaged "pro-activist" community; and training and empowerment for individual volunteers to carry the alliance's message of environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment to others around the world. I tear up thinking how long I've felt alone and isolated in my call to action for peace and justice, and how now with Pachamama Alliance I finally feel at home. This group is one in a million.
I have been aware of the Pachamama Alliance's great and important work for years. Finally, recently, at my company's (Powur PBC) first training and business event, I was able to experience the Pachamama Alliance's powerful, cathartic, inforamative healing, and motivational "Awaken the Dreamer" program! Loved it! I would recommend this program for anyone, from anyone walk of life. I hope to host "Awaken the Dreamer" in my town too.
I discovered Pachamama Alliance about ten years ago. They got my attention and interest for their work in promoting what is really important and essential in life to include our interconnectedness with nature. When I saw the Amazon journeys I told myself I would go with them and did in 2013. They are doing an incredible job in raising awareness and getting people's commitment in improving quality of life on this planet.
I appreciate PA and the awakening the dreamer, changing the dream symposium because of its simple yet comprehensive mission , clarity of vision and willingness to ask tough questions, find allies in unlikely places and offer inspiration to every person on the planet!
Pachamama Alliance is active on the front lines in the Amazon to support indigenous people in saving their home - the Amazon rainforest. They also develop innovative programs that reunite people with their natural origins and empower them to take action in the world. The Pachamama Alliance is an active and innovative organization making a difference for all of us on the planet.
I've been a supporter for 15 years and have never regreted it. I think they practice what they preach. The message is represented in the name.
I follow the work of Pachmama Alliance mainly through their Facebook page, which I find informative and unbiased with excellent colourful photos. This page does an excellent job of informing a wide audience about their work in supporting indigenous people and their lifestyle and their rights to continue their lives, disseminating how the knowledge and and awareness such people hold in relation to living sustainably is absolutely vital to the humanity and the planet itself. I as a human being am so grateful that Pachamama Alliance exists - and I love following their Facebook page.

Michelle, thank you so much for your review! We are so grateful that you feel this way! It is exactly what we intend for people to get out of our Facebook page and our work in general. :-)
In 2013, November, I attended a symposium during a Sustainability conference at Ananda College in Oregon state. 'Awakening the Dreamer', the symposium presented by Pachamama Alliance, was one of the top mind-altering and consciousness shifting experiences of my life. I would highly recommend to anyone concerned with the immediate and/or eventual future of this planet, to attend one of their symposiums or events, or purchase the dvd online. It's simply wonderful. I can't praise it or their work highly enough. I thank them here, and hope to be able to volunteer with them at some point. Namaste
I was an early traveler with Pachamama Alliance in 1999 and a follower of their work ever since. The trip to the retreat center in the midst of the Achuar was one of the most enjoyable and instructive I have ever been on. The work they are doing to protect the environment and the way of life of the indigenous is fantastic. They are a focussed and efficient way to make a difference in this world.
Pachamama alliance has given me hope and so much more. Their vision is inspiring and motivating. They aren't able to paint a big picture of all that is wrong with the world and offer clear solutions. I would recommend their lectures and symposiums to anyone.
Pachamama Alliance has given me hope for our global future. When the world seems to be spinning out of control, I see people who are committed to saving the planet and her inhabitants working intelligently and compassionately. thank you
This is a great nonprofit that gets people to work from where they are to change lives for the better all over the world
Pachamama Alliance is continually providing me with inspiration for my fledgling Nature program for kids.
Living in Zimbabwe there are daily reminders of how disconnected the majority of people are with Mother Earth and what She provides for us free. Unfortunately children tend to copy the example their parents' set. I would like to pass on the reverence for nature I have and which the Pachamama community is reteaching to the World
Pachamama Alliance inspires me daily with their posts. Their commitment to global sustainability is unwavering. Their call to serve resounds with love and strength, encouraging each of us to greater awareness.
Pachamama Alliance has given me the dream that we can all co create together a world that is economically sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling for everyone. I am in love with this dream.
Their integrity reflects in the work they do connecting communities with the sacredness of our Mother Earth. They do it because they care and it shows. I appreciate all that they do and represent. I'm grateful for a non-profit that makes a difference in people lives. Thank you Pachamama alliance! Together we're creating a brighter future. Infinite love
Pachamama Alliance is beautifully and actively increasing awareness in the general public, as well as facilitating great and positive change for the indigenous people, the ecology, and greater planet as a whole! I am proud to be a follower! I am relieved a group like this exists and is working on the behalf of us all!
Thank Pachamama Alliance! Keep up the good work!
I have been both a donor and volunteer for the Pachamama Alliance and have been enriched through my relationship with TPA. They are impeccable, trustworthy and very clear about their mission and purpose. Wonderful people doing worthwhile thinking and doing for the benefit of all on Earth.
The Pachamama Alliance is the organization that will change the course of the environmental devastation of this planet. Their work is targeted on educating the minds but more importantly, opening the hearts of all who seek to learn about what's going on in the Amazon and all over the world. I would recommend going on their trip to Ecuador, into the rainforest, to meet the amazing Achuar people. I would recommend donating whatever you can--every dime is put to great use. Lovely, fierce and committed people doing great work!
Trustworthy organisation. Caring for our planet. Helping to secure a safer and brighter future for all the peoples and inhabitants
of this world.
I trust the Board of Directors that run this organization. I trust Lynn Twist and her staff. These are people who have the gift of seeing the big picture and the ability to raise the vibration in this Universe, which is what we all want at a conscious level.
After hearing about Pachamama for years, I finally learned about what they do--they are uniting with indigenous peoples in South America to keep the last remaining rainforest in Equador pristine. In addition, they have a number of programs to educate people around the world about how to create a just, sustainable world. This is powerful, important, hope-inspiring work, and the integrity of each of the founders, including Lynn Twist is rock-solid. Thank you Pachamama! I am proud to have donated to your mission today and look forward to becoming more involved.
My 13 year old son was participating in a study of philanthropy at his school and chose the Pachamama Alliance as the organization he wanted to raise money for. Their passion for the environment and for the rights of indigenous peoples really impressed him. What really impressed me is the integrity of the organization, the vision and mission statement of helping to create a world that is spiritually fulfilling, just, sustainable and works for EVERYONE. The recognition that the indigenous people of this world have so much to teach us in the western world, and the training programs that help us take a look at our own worldview are revolutionary in the best possible way. The Pachamama Alliance is at the forefront of those who are literally saving the planet. I was happy that my son was able to raise almost $900 to help them achieve that goal. We will continue to donate and will be involved with this organization for a long time.
I think Pachamama is a phenomenal organization. They have created a wonderful training to get people engaged in making a difference. Everyone should go through their Awakening The Dreamer workshop. I've met great people who are highly committed, smart and who take action.
Great people doing great work for the sake of humanity and the planet!
Commitment to serving the protection and salvation of Life from the heart - true intelligence, Right Action. I am thankful.
I truly enjoyed my summer interning with The Pachamama Alliance. Not only are the people very passionate about their work, but it creates a motivational setting to encourage others to understand the work that they do. This is an organization that I continue to follow even after I finished my internship!
Interning at The Pachamama Alliance was one of the most rewarding things I have done. The passion and dedication that everyone has at the organization is inspiring.
The Pachamama Alliance is doing the work I most want to see done in the world and they do it with a great deal of heart and integrity.
The Pachamama Alliance is my favorite nonprofit. I identify with there mission to the extent of adopting it as my own personal mission. They do amazing work and produce results that benefit everyone. I feel like they have integrity as an organization.
An enlightened and proactive group! I support the work they are doing and have learned a lot through their education and outreach effforts
The Pachamama Alliance is truly one of its kind. The thriving future of the human family and the entire community of Earth will owe a debt of gratitude to the tireless work of this organization. All the people I have ever met who are involved with The Pachamama Alliance carry a unique drive to create a more positive future, and share an embodied presence that inspires the world to join in that profound mission.
Pachamama Alliance is the organization my heart connects with for we all work towards humany's wellbeing. We become change agents who bring a message to awake from our "modern dream" and to transition our lives and earth into a sustainable world.
I first came to know The Pachamama Alliance through an Awakening the Dreamer symposium in San Diego 2 years ago. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be a part of this dynamic and inspirational organization that can truly make a different in our world. Attending that symposium was life-changing for me. I want to inspire others, especially my grandchildren, that we need to take care of each other AND our beautiful planet because -- we are all connected!
The Pachamama Alliance is a unique non-profit organization creating an important bridge with the indigenous Achuar culture & their spiritual way of life in the Ecuadorian jungle This important relationship opens our minds in helping them maintain and preserve their pristine environment for present & future generations .
I love Pachamama. I've adopted the Achuar practice of interpreting and acting on my dreams daily - it's changed my life! That's pretty ancient technology :) it's the internet before computers. Pachamama Alliance is doing great work.
They have created a true partnership with the indigenous people with learning and know-how being shared in both directions. The impeccable integrity of the leadership attracts responsible volunteers who teach and learn in deeply mutual exchanges for the benefit of our planet.
There are many wonderful nonprofits which focus on helping people in numerous ways. Pachamama Alliance goes beyond that by starting with the need to help our planet thrive and continue to support us all.
The Alliance always provides great service learning opportunities for San Francisco State University students that connect them with global issues of social justice. They also focus on academic skills that will enhance post-graduation work: analysis, writing, and staying engaged.
Over 1 and a half year ago, I became a faciliator for the be the change. I really love to meet all these beautiful people, who are involved in changing they´re lifes and those of others in a non-violent way. THX
I was privileged to become an Awakening the Dreamer Symposium facilitator. It was an empowering and yes, a life changing experience.
I first heard about the Pachamama Alliance years ago when their was an Awakening The Dreamer Symposium in my hometown of Long Beach, CA. I participated in the symposium and it was life changing. It definitely was a catalyst on my life journey. As a global citizen I am so appreciative of all the work they are doing in support of the earth, consciousness and indigenous peoples. My two young daughters are half Kichwa from the community of Sarayaku in Ecuador and I am so thankful for their support of the natural stewards of the Amazon in protecting the lungs of the earth for future generations. The Pachamama Alliance and Fundacion Pachamama are by far my favorite non-profits!
By becoming a volunteer, you are not dedicating your time to the Pachamama Alliance so much as becoming a part of it. The group makes inclusiveness a top priority which makes volunteers, donors, and staff all equally integral to the org's purpose.
The Pachamama Alliance guided a group of us into the rainforest — and their vision, integrity and care for those of us who visited was phenomenal. Living with the Achuar tribe, experiencing their shaman, and sharing ceremony was a pivotal point in my life.
Six years ago I attended a Pachamama "Awakening The Dreamer Changing The Dream Symposium", which changed my life. When I heard the question, "Does anyone want to learn to facilitate a Symposium?" I swiftly raised my arm, am now a Facilitator of many Symposia, have visited the Rainforest twice, and joyfully contribute financially on a monthly basis to the Pachamama Alliance. My money is invested in all ways that support, protect and benefit all life on Earth. No exceptions. I give the Pachamama Alliance the highest rating possible.
This organization has inspired me to get more active on the critical issues of environmental sustainability and social justice. They rock!
I would recommend this organization to everyone who would like to make a significant impact! Pachamama Alliance educates, inspires then empowers each person to be a part of their commendable vision, "... a world that works for everyone: a socially just, environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilled human presence on this planet ..." My first experience was in July 2011 at an "Awakening the Dreamer" Symposium. I learned more than I knew and wanted to become more involved. Soon, I will be attending a Facilitator Training. Next, perhaps, an eco-friendly trip to Ecuador. I love to be surrounded by a community of well-meaning, heart-driven, and action-oriented individuals. There is no greater need than our planet and there is no greater time than now! Join the Pachamama Alliance as a participant or volunteer. You will be glad you did!
I was a volunteer for nearly four years and now am working in a paid role at Pachamama Alliance. I am passionate about their work and am proud to have worked with them for so long.
The organization and all its' programs are the most grounded, committed, courageous, inspiring, bold, beautiful efforts I have ever worked with.
Activism work is often as the agitated activist which is not often effective at waking people up to where we are in the world and where we need to go. It also creates stress on the activist. And life is stressful enough! Pachamama Alliance brings a sacred foundation to this work. They make no one wrong or evil. And they do this while also creating a sense of urgency.
Their mission of a sustainable, just and fulfilling human presence is now a guiding principle for my life.
The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium developed by the Pachamama Alliance is being experienced all over the planet inspiring people to create an ecologically sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling human presence on the planet. The experience is incredible and such high quality!
Their work with the Achuar in Ecuador (and Peru) to save their piece of the rainforest is incredible...and a real partnership!
I took the awakening the dreamer symposium and it was very inspiring, though difficult to learn what I learned. The information is important for everyone to know, and the facilitators did a good job of leading discussions. It was good to meet other people who are concerned with the state of the world. I would recommend everyone take the symposium.
During the event I learned more about The Pachamama Alliance and The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. While I watched the stunningly beautiful and moving videos and listened to the presenters, I was moved by the inclusiveness of this organization for all groups and communities. It brought together the environment, the human spirit and social justice for all peoples. BAM! Right into my heart.... This is what I wanted for the world. It woke me up to begin discovering what I more I could do in the world. That feeling is still glowing in my heart today....with hope, communities....committed in action in creating a sustainable world.
I was stunnded when I first experienced this organization's
This is a well run social profit that is making a huge difference in both preserving the rainforest in Ecuador and empowering indigenous people to protect their ancestral territories. Additionally, The Pachamama Alliance is raising the consciousness in industrialized countries to change the thinking around environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Paul Hawken has called The Pachamama Alliance the #1 NGO in the world.
This organization is lean and mean that is to say it has a very big outreach on a small budget. Offers Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, Rainforest trips plus much more. Generating leading edge communications that ties together issues of the environment, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Has created a powerful relationship with the Achuar community in Ecuador and has helped protect millions of acres of rainforest.
My attendance at a single Symposium changed my sense of the possibility for the human race to live a sustainable, fulfilling and social just life in the near future. It lifted decades of growing gloom in my heart and inspired me to throw myself into action to make a big difference every day. I've seen firsthand the acutely important work the Pachamama Alliance is doing in the Amazon basin and the world-changing impacts of their efforts to support self-empowerment of indigenous peoples, including helping draft elements of the new Ecuadorian Constitution to establish a priori rights of the natural world. Through the Pachamama Alliance, I've met extraordinary people from around the world who are committing their lives to changing the course of society in the most productive and harmonious ways possible. My personal community of friends and colleagues has been joyously invigorated by my work with the Pachamama Alliance, and it has changed my work, my family and my life in wonderful ways.
As Paul Hawkens recently said, the Pachamama Alliance may well be the most important NGO in the world today for its work in enlisting people by the tens of thousands in changing their lives, their communities, and their social systems to become environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just. More than 40,000 people have already participated in Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposia in at least 28 countries, and the numbers of trained facilitators leading these activism-generating events are multiplying at an ever-increasing rate. The core of the work of this initiative of the Pachamama Alliance is bringing a grounded hopefulness and powerful blessed unrest to community members who are inspired to go out and address the environmental and social needs of their communities in whatever ways they feel they can have the greatest impact. The result is, arguably, the fastest-growing movement generating action for environmental sustainability and social justice in the world today.
Working with Pacha Mama is deeply inspiring. There is a spirit of joy, commitment, hope and commitment to excellence which permeates their work and which moves me to grow to my full potential in serving the great shift in consciousness currently taking place on the planet. Thank you, Pacha Mama Alliance, for being such an inspiration!
Pachamama Alliance is changing the dream of the modern world through through their Awakenng The Dreamer Changing The Dream Symposium. http://www.awakeningthedreamer.org Symposium participants come to realize the possibility they have to create the environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just world we want.
The Pachamama Alliance is making a huge impact in the world. They not only partner with indigenous people to protect their rainforest homelands, but also are making a huge difference in awakening people to how the way we in the "modern world" are living our lives is what is fueling the destruction of our natural environment, and to the many social injustices that exist in the world
