Since a very young age, I have loved to sing. I have had many wonderful private instructors throughout my years of lessons. When looking back at the lessons I’ve learned, I realize that the value isn’t just the actual vocal, piano or guitar lessons I’ve learned. It’s the life lessons. Through my years of studying music privately, I have learned goal-setting, perseverance, self-discipline, problem solving, math and reading skills and much more. These lessons are invaluable. Through the MusicLink Foundation, thousands of children have been able to take private lessons. They are creating more than musicians one student at a time. They are creating well-rounded and successful young adults. As a Minnesota MusicLink Ambassador, I am honored to be part of an organization that makes a difference in children’s lives every day. Thank you MusicLink Foundation for letting me be a part of your organization and for being dedicated to enriching the lives of your students.
I have been a MusicLink piano teacher for 2 years and I think what they do is great. With there help, I have been able to provide private piano lessons for 7 students and I have placed 2 pianos in 2 homes. Two of my students are sisters and they were so excited to get the piano. They had been working on a small keyboard that did not allow for the full experience of playing piano. You should have seen their faces when the piano was put in the room. They love playing and have been getting better and better every lesson. Thank you to MusicLink Foundation for all the work you do in co-ordinating the placing of pianos.
I've been a music link teacher for a few years. I have been able to acquire 2 pianos for my students so far. They are a great organization and easy to work with. Thank you, MusicLink Foundation!!
I've been a MusicLink teacher for the past 7 years. Being a part of MusicLink has helped one student prepare for his college auditions. He is currently studying composition and piano at Ithaca College. He would not have been able to prepare for the auditions and entrance to college without these lessons. He also received camp scholarships from MusicLink for three years. In addition a piano was donated to him so he had a good instrument on which to practice.
Another student is in her first year as a MusicLink student. She is a hard working 7th grader who has performed in several Festivals this year as well as in the Music Federation Duet and Solo categories. She would not have been able to study with a 45 minute lesson without the help of MusicLink.
MusicLInk provides the necessary help and support for students who are in need of financial help. It's an excellent program for students.
I have been with MusicLink since its inception and am so proud to be still working for the Foundation, albeit in another capacity at this point, as Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic region. There is great need for this program that puts students together with teachers to study music even though their parents aren't able to afford the regular price of lessons.
I've been affiliated with MusicLink as a teacher and a coordinator for 15 years and have seen first hand the difference it's making in the lives of children around the nation AND in the lives of their teachers. The children are getting an opportunity they would never have otherwise had and the teachers get great satisfaction in sharing their gift of music with the students. The support of the foundation makes all of this possible. Funding comes from Playathons, small grants and mostly from donations from people who support the mission of bringing musical instruction to ALL children.
I have proudly been a MusicLink Foundation teacher for the past several years and so appreciate the dedication and foresight of the founders of this organization. Through the Foundation, I have taught many students who would not have been able to take piano lessons. This organization provides support, materials, instruments and self esteem to the students who are in the program. Our hope is for the continued success and leadership for this fine Foundation!!!
I began teaching piano with the MusicLink Foundation several years ago and I continue to be amazed at the great satisfaction one gets from teaching someone who would not otherwise be able to pursue any kind of lessons in music. I love what I am able to do with this organization and am PROUD to be a part of such a foundation which affords the opportunities to study music. Thank you, MusicLink!!!
I have had the privilege of being a Music Link teacher for more than 10 years. I appreciate all that the organization has done by providing lessons, music, and instruments to children who otherwise could not afford lessons. Thanks to all the willing teachers who give of their best to enrich the lives of these students who have a real love of music.
MusicLink Foundation is a great organization and they make it possible for lots of students that are interested in music by providing instruments, books, and teachers so that they can take music lessons even if they can't afford to pay full price. Teachers care about these children and are willing to share their time and knowledge to help students learn to play an instrument and learn to love music for a lifetime.
As Hopewell Music Cooperative-North approaches its Fifth Anniversary Celebration on March 31st, I am reflecting back on the immense help we have received over those five years from the National nonprofit organization of MusicLink. The piano arriving for our grand opening on a snowy April day, music collected through MusicLink donated to Hopewell, Much needed instruments for Students who had none, student connections for lessons, opportunities to play at MOA and in St. Paul, all of it from MusicLink. The fact that the help for Students like ours, is also on a National level from MusicLink is mind boggling. I do not know how they are able to make the connections all over the United States. What a blessing MusicLink is to Hopewell nonprofit and many, many other Teachers and Students. Thank you so much for your hard work MusicLink.
I love working with MusicLink Foundation. They are always helpful and responsive and assist me while I help underprivileged students be able to afford music training.
MusicLink Foundation makes it possible for many deserving children to receive music lessons at my studio -- children whose families could not have afforded to pay full price. MusicLink is easy to work with and always willing to help me assist these students.
I have been a MusicLink teacher for 17 years. In April 2015, I was honored as a MusicLink Teacher of Distinction.
I have always believed in what this program stood for, and I am proud to be a part of it. I have been able to help out coordinating MusicLink for the State of Massachusetts, and saw how great the need is. This year I have four MusicLink students, one of whom has been with me and a part of MusicLink for seven years. Over those years, MusicLink has supported his musical growth, as he needed a keyboard, and generous publishers have supplied all of his music. He continues to enjoy his lessons. I am proud to be a MusicLink teacher, and I am grateful for the program.”
I have been a MusicLink teacher and coordinator for decades. Long term individual music lessons for children who would otherwise have no access is one of the most important contributions a musician can do to make a difference in the lives of children. It is particularly significant in this age of drastic income inequality.
I have been a MusicLink teacher for nearly two decades and continue to be impressed and moved by the difference MusicLink makes in the lives of low income students and their families.
