This nonprofit is the best one I have ever heard of! My husband is 33 years old and was diagnosed in 2015 with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma which was successfully removed with a craniotomy. My husband has been battling ALOT of health issues and setbacks ever since his diagnosis which has caused many hospital visits, ER visits, specialist visits, chemo, etc. We do have good health insurance through my employer but we also have 4 children 10 and under so as you can imagine, keeping up with all the medical bills is VERY challenging. We were awarded a very generous grant through Mission 4 Maureen which has been a life saver! It just eases a little bit of the stress off of my shoulders so I can focus more on my husband and children. I appreciate this program so much and feel so blessed to have been referred to it. THANK YOU MISSION 4 MAUREEN!
My 10 year old son has a brain tumor and many other medical issues he has been battling since birth, Mission 4 Maureen has been a god send, they helped cover expenses I was unable to meet. This is such an amazing company, they truly helped take away the stress from me and my family. They have not only extending a helping hand but sent forth much heart to care for others in need.
My husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2012. Our family was very scared about what to do, where to go, how to start. Everything was very quick, and my husband was unable to continue with his life evendough he kept everything for himself and never complained about anything regarding his situation. His left periferal vision was compromised and he was unable to continue driving and he was forced to quick to his job. All our dreams were jepardize in silence we were recently married and we were very scared. Thank God they were good and exciting news in a middle of this difficult time, specially because I was pregnant and we didn't know that at the same time we were facing this big challenge in our lives. I never thought my husband condition will be at risk and everything was under control the first year, he also was proud to be a new daddyand the bonding he had with his little princess was priceless, life for us was even more meaningful and he was really hoping to have enough time to be around his family. My husband was day by day, hour by hou online looking for answers, treatments, oncologist, neurologist, Duke, New York, Jhon Hopkins University of Miami... he never lose hope, specially after contacted mission4maureen who help us to manage our difficult time. They help us financially, they gaves orientation and all the supportwe need to continue with the journey we have a head specially with a new baby and with my husband facing treatment with Chemo adn radiation.
my husband also share and post all about mission 4 maureen try to help with funds to support this great nonprofit. Unfortunately this disease took my husband's life after 3 years after his diagnosed and 4 months after his recurrence., it has been very sad and difficult to me to be a widow and to raise a 3 1/2 years old girl without daddy around, she still asking for her daddy when he is coming back from the doctor...I lost my family no family but I didn't lost the respect and love to all who have being through all this painfull illness joirney. my heart is with all people who needs support, every minute a family out there is probably facing the same situation We did, and thank's to mission4maureee many people with a loveone facing a brain tumor won't be alone is this journey. Thanks mission4 maureen for gave us hope even in the most difficult moments of our lives. G- d Bless you always and I hope you can continue with the holy work !
My baby was diagnosed with brain cancer at 10 months old. On Jan7,2016 our lives completely changed there were so many thing to get sorted out and it was hard being in the hospital for so long. Mission4Maureen is such a blessing.I sent an email and they immediately responded they paid 950 in child care and my past due car insurance bill. All I can say is thank you so much because I didn't know how I was going pay another bill. With no hesitation they blessed us and the burden was lifted.God Bless you all and everyone who donated, because of you I am able to be here with my baby boy and one less bill on my mind.
My four year old nephew was suffering from DIPG, a brain stem tumor. My brother was spending all his free time with his son and bills needed to be paid. Mission for Maureen assisted him at a very stressful and difficult time. We are forever grateful.
What an amazing organization!!! Once was my daughter was diagnosed with cancer and our family income decreased I applied for Mission for Maureen not sure what to expect. Within that same week my rent was paid along with several other utilities. I cannot thank them enough!
No one wants to have a tumor, of any kind. Unfortunately there are many families suffering from them everyday. In the summer of July, 2014 my 1 year old daughter was diagnosed with a Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade 3 brain tumor. I applied for assistance from Mission 4 Maureen and they were there for my family, immediately. Months had passed and the tumor began to go away. Chemotherapy was reduced as it made Ava really weak. Around the holiday we received 2 surprise gifts from Mission 4 Maureen, and Ava loved them so much. It was shortly after this we learned she would not survive the brain tumor. She passed 3 weeks later. The memory of her excitement when she opened her presents will always be in my heart. Not only has Mission 4 Maureen helped my family financially, they've created memories and inspired me to help others the way they helped me. Thank you

This non profit organization has been great for my family, they really helped us in our time of need while struggling with cancer. I'll never forget the help they gave to my family, cancer is a lot to struggle with so it makes me happy there are non profit organizations like Mission for Maureen who help. Thank you.
My fiance' was diagnosed with Stage IV Melanoma Cancer with brain tumors a little over a year ago. We have four children bewteen us. With the mdical treatments, surgeries, and driving back and forth to the hospital we have been having difficulties with our financies. Michael can no longer work and has been put on disability. I have been the only one working part time for over a year now to try to make ends meet. Orginazations like Mission4Maureen really help release burdens from families. It is nice to know there are people out there helping adults with cancer. Cancer is an awful thing to go through, worrying about how you are going to continue to pay for your living when you are sick and lose your job and income is even worse. Our greatest thanks goes to Mission4Maureen. We can rest easy for another month knowing we have a rough over our families head. God bless you.
Mission4Maureen is a excellent nonprofit helper. They help me last year and really make a different in my hardship financial while I was in my treatment. Also get me out of stress. I am very grateful. Thank you very much and God bless you.
I hope you can continue helping people with brain cancer tumor.
Diagnosed April 1, 2013, with a terrifying disease of brain cancer (Glioblastoma Multiforme), I refused to become a "bad" statistic. Instead, my path would only allow prayer, positive thinking and hope! Bills began to pile up, I had to quit my job of teaching British English to seniors, and there were so many doctors' appointments which I couldn't drive to. I used my time by combing the internet for help and I found Mission4Maureen.
The site was so encouraging! I asked for an amount to cover some very specific bills, and I was sent a check with no red tape. The ease at which my case was handled really encouraged me to keep canvasing the internet for other sources. Unfortunately, I found none that were as straight forward and helpful as this nonprofit. The 5-star rating should really be a 6-star because it is that wonderful.
With the help of many prayers, God's loving grace and my doctors, I am in remission and only go for Avastin infusion treatments once every two weeks. The brain cancer is gone. I can do things I enjoy, like traveling and being with my family. I treasure my husband Robert, who is the epitome of a supportive spouse, and my boys Jake and Justin. I found Mission4Maureen exactly when I needed it! Thanks!
I was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumors on April 1, 2013. My prognosis was terminal - no stage I, II, III or IV. Removal by surgery was not an option. Online research showed life expectancy of about 3 months. That wasn't good enough for me. I began to do work on managing my own experiences and was lead to Mission4Maureen. This site gave me not only financial assistance, but encouragement to continue to live! Now, thanks to prayers, medicine, and positive thinking, I am what my oncologist calls a "Miracle Lady"! Latest MRI shows NO abnormalities - the brain cancer is GONE!
Mission4Maureen is the best non-profit program from which I received financial assistance. The application process is straight forward, communication is with real people and quick, the results are fast. Mission4Maureen proved to be the best at helping me out financially when I needed it. They are truly a GREAT nonprofit!
Two family members with brain cancer and Mission4Maureen is amazing with the support, both financially and emotionally!!! Thank you!!!
I cannot tell everyone how wonderful Mission4Maureen is! They have helped through a very difficult time! Jennifer was diagnosed with Stage 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma and the prognosis was NOT good. Married, with 4 young children, she was determined to beat this thing! Well, after 6 very difficult weeks of Chemo and Radiation daily, the tumor did not shrink at all. Very disappointing and scary. So, she went to Texas (we live in Michigan), to MD Anderson Cancer Center, where they operated on this inoperable tumor! AMEN!! They were able to remove about 80% of this tumor, so the prognosis now is much better!! But due to this, she has been off work for 6 months, and her husband for most of that time as well. With $0 income, Mission4Maureen's assistance has been invaluable and came at a time they felt they could not keep their head above water. Fear of losing your home during a time when everything else is falling apart is something they did not need! Thank you so much for helping!!!!
I was a 23 year old full time preschool teacher who just graduated from the University of Michigan. I had just been accepted into my graduate program when two months later I found out I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer. Due to brain surgery I was forced to take a month off from work for recovery. Being an independent, working and paying my way through undergrad and soon to be graduate school money was tight. Mission for Maureen was my Knight in Shining Armour, my angel watching over me and the little help I needed to get ahead. I will forever be grateful to this organization for the help that they were able to give to me and many others.
My mother was diagnosed with grade 4 gliblastoma in 2012. It was a very devastating blow to our family as my brother was killes in a car accident only a few year earlier and my uncle sied from brian cance when I was a child. At first we were hopeful that the traditional surgery and chmo and radiation therapy would work. 10 months later though as with most glioblastoma's it had returned. Her Surgeon said he would not operate again and it was only a matter of time. He cancer doctors though had just happened to have gone to a study for amunotheropy trial at Duke. She happenes to be a perfect match. The bad thing was she has to go back and forth to Suke about 600 miles each way. Needlesss to say this took a HUGE toll on my parenta finances. There is not much help you can get for brian cancer and Mission4Maureen was truely a gift from God. Unfortunately my mom passed but my family will never forget their kindness.
Mission4Maureen Is the best! I was out of work with my going back and forth to treatment once a week for 14 months. My mind was racing 100 mph trying to figure out how be there for my son and pay bills. I could do nothing but cry. I was online in the middle of the night search for resources to help me. I completed Mission4Maureen online application and with in a week help came through. Thank you so much Mission4Maureen.
Mission for Maureen was accessible and expedient in meeting my family needs. Thank you again for helping my husband and I with a financial gift to meet our basic needs. This is an organization that is filled with compassion and drive!!!.... For those who would like to see, the client served, please look up the author , Orlando Warren, book, Lynchings and American Pastimes.... He will never be forgotten, DOD 7/17/14.
To whom it may concern. please forgive me of my lateness. my goal was to write this review soon. i did not want to take an extra momment to post pond my review, considering how important this is, not just for me but for all readers. it is hard to convey, how important this is. it is not the kind of thing, one would think you would need to share, or would ever need to share, but here it is. i know thousand of quotations, words of other authors i spent my whole life reading but none have prepare me for this momment or humble me more.
we would like to think, at times like this the right words would come easy, but it does not, but what are the right words, to spend our whole lives practicing them. if as somehow through practice they would get better. as i'm writing this, i'm reliving the experiecne and re- learning it. i am imagining it, through the ears and eyes of my wife and children and it fills me with so much love, that it is hard to contain myself. considering what is ask of me, this is small of what i have ask from your organization. your agency has came to my aid right on time. when i needed it the most. It met my most unmet need and i am humbly greatful. thank you again.
Mission4Maureen is a class act through and through. We were in a financial predicament shortly after our 14-year-old son was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and we applied for help. I remember the day I received the phone call that our application had been approved. I had just been on the phone with my Mom telling her I didn't know what we were going to do. She said thr Lord has always pulled through.
I got off the phone and received M4M's voicemail and tears streamed down my face. What a gift they are to lighten other's loads during a life challenge and all while honoring Maureen in the process. Can't sing their praises enough!
I was terminated by my employer at my son's bedside as we awaited his diagnosis. We had just found a tumor on his brain a few days before. It was horrible. As a single mother, I had no additional help to try and save my son's life. SSI only paid the bare minimum which didn't cover hardly anything with all the travel we had to do each day; 126 miles-one way to the Children's Hospital.
When I found Mission4Maureen, the electric company was prepared to turn off our lights. The next time we had to reach out to M4M; I was on the verge of losing my apartment and my vehicle.
The kindness that M4M has shown me and my son can never be repaid. They are angels among me. My son has since passed away but they continue to reach out in support sometimes and I think that is amazing...the feeling of not being forgotten.
Rosie and Mr. Walker are the most amazing people I've had the pleasure of meeting. They have helped me save my home and my car. My son, Ethan, was diagnosed with brain cancer in March of 2012. I was fired at bedside and without the help of Mission4Maureen, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to leave my focus where it need to be..on my son.
Thank you, M4M! You're the best!
I am a social worker and I reached out to Mission for Maureen for much needed assistance for a client and her family. I was blown away by the amount with which they were able to help. Communication was prompt as well. Overall the experience far exceeding my expectations.
Larry Walker and his Mission 4 Maureen Foundation has been absolutely a blessing for our son and our family. We are so thankful for the support we have received from this wonderful nonprofit organization. May God continue to bless their mission and effort.
Thank you Mission4Maureen for paying for half of our rent this month. #KatherineTheBrave was diagnosed with DIPG on June 2nd, and since then we have struggled to pay our bills, afford her medicine, survive just in general. David had to quit his job to stay home and help with Katherine. We have lots of fundraisers, and support, although getting a bill paid directly not only eases the load financially, it takes one thing off the list that we don't have to worry about during this uncertain and stressful time we are in. Thank you... Jaime King
Unfortunately I was diagnosed with brain cancer while I was 6 months pregnant. My FMLA was exhausted through work and I lost my position. Mission4Maureen was there to help me with my finances and I could not be more grateful to such a phenomenal organization. The help that they were able to provide gave my husband and I the relief that we needed while we enjoyed our first baby girl; Alyssa. Thank you so much Mission4Maureen from the bottom of our hearts.
