I have been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of San Antonio over 6 years and it has truly been a blessing for my life. Our family also enjoys delivering meals on Thanksgiving Day. Meals on Wheels of San Antonio is a Top-Rated Nonprofit.
I'm not a volunteer but they deliver to my neighbor everyday and it warms my heart knowing people still care
This is such a wonderful organization! I have been a volunteer now for several years.
As a volunteer you directly see the community necessity that is met with the service that Meals On Wheels of San Antonio provides. Knowing that the meal given and the interaction with the client may be the only interaction that client has with someone for that day, personally moves me to realize that this service is greatly needed.
This is one of the organizations highly committed to its mission in all levels of the organization. Everyday, homebound seniors can receive a nutritional meal; find a companionship to alleviate their solitude and Alzheimer's care. Thanks CSS for support our community.
Amazing organization doing amazing work helping seniors in our community. I am proud volunteer for 4 years!
This is the most proactive and functional charitable organization I have ever seen. They deliver a meal customized to the nutritional needs of the home bound senior, timely and at an amazingly low cost. This is where the "rubber meets the road". Last year they delivered almost 1 million meals in Bexar County. AMAZING! All in involved in this process are to be congratulated.
I've been volunteering by delivering meals for years. It has been, and continues to be a blessing for me to be part of something that helps seniors in my community in such a direct and meaningful way!
I've been volunteering for 2 months. I love this because I take all three of my young children with me when I volunteer. In fact, it was my oldest's idea to "help the old people." We do it once a week and it's great! It was a little overwhelming at first because I didn't really know what I was doing and when I picked up the meals, it was at a nearby church (not the headquarters). I didn't realize that each meal was labeled for a specific purpose (i.e. someone's specifics needs). It would have been nice to have someone there knowing it was my first time to give me some help or some pointers. But now I've figured it out and plan to continue volunteering!
I have been volunteering with MOW for at least six months, and truly enjoying serving other seniors. They are all so grateful and everyone is so welcoming and friendly, that already I feel like they are my family. I am able to spend a few minutes with most of them, and we share a laugh, or a story about a grandchild, or just what a beautiful day it is! I feel blessed to be able to volunteer with MOW. I also wanted to say that the staff at MOW are the best, hard working, dedicated individuals and always available to answer questions or concerns.
Most wonderful feeling to help such loving seniors! My husband and I volunteered for Thanksgiving, and we were definitely the ones feeling loved and welcomed by the senior community. Thank you Meals on Wheels for offering such a humbling experience!
I am an 80 year old widow with no family living in San Antonio. Meals on Wheels began delivering lunches to me last week and I am delighted with the delicious and nutritious variety that have been brought to my door! The ladies are all very friendly and I enjoy seeing new faces. (Some days, I see no one all day.) Thank you so much for all who work together to provide this service to senior citizens!
