As a Board member, to see the direct impact that this charity has on children, leaves me in tears each and every time. Before serving as a Board member, my son was touched by this organization when he was hospitalized for an extended period.
Before I knew it, several Board members came by to visit him and to make sure his stay was comfortable, brought in some of his favorite foods. They even brought in huge trays of food for all the children staying in the hospital.
But they didn't stop there! As with most children staying in the hospital, they become bored. So an Xbox gaming system with all the trimmings and several games was delivered to him. Talk about putting a smile on a child's face!
In closing, the best charity with the most humble volunteers and Board members to serve with.
The best way I can describe Little Smiles is to say that they truly are angels on Earth. :)
This is a non profit that makes you feel like you gave a million dollars. Those kids appreciate everything Little Smiles does for them. You know exactly where your donation is going. And when you attend the "Little Smiles Ball", you will never ever forget those kids smiles.
Little Smiles gives us an opportunity for our exchange students & personal visitors coming foreign countries to see how an organization gives back to their community with a hands on approach. Little Smiles also gives our exchange students an opportunity to volunteer as well. Thank you.
Little Smiles has grown from a charity that provided videos into a charity that has rock stars for board volunteers and put sooo much of their free time into community events and fundraising all for the joy of the kids. There are sooo many people working behind the scenes and over the years it has been a joy to see them continue to grow and put smiles on the kids faces. Past present and future LS Volunteers Rock! As a volunteer myself I salute you.
Had the privilege of assisting in the Little Smiles fundraising campaign in 2012. The Little Smiles Night at the Oscars was an event to remember! A gala event, where the children are the stars for the evening. This is an amazing opportunity for these sick children (along with their siblings & family members) to forget the hospital beds for the night and just have some fun.
Also attended some candy/snack runs to St Mary's Childrens Hospital. Another opportunity to give these sick kids, and their families, something other than hospital cafeteria food. A real pick me up for all involved!
Keep up the great work!
