The absolute cleanest, most caring sanctuary that exists! The most dedicated staff. The animals live in paradise...
What a wonderful experience. The keepers really care and know there animals! I still can't believe some of the stories of these majestic creatures. Cant wait to go back!!!
This is a very dedicated and professional team and every dollar raised goes to the care of these animals as well as education
I was extremely impressed with not only the cleanliness and physical health of the animals, but also the care and concern given to their emotional well being.
Review from Guidestar
Keepers of the wild. We go once or twice a year. Enjoy lunch with animals. Thank you Keepers Of The Wild
When my twin grandchildren moved to Laughlin I couldn't wait to take them to the Keepers of the Wild. What a great day we had seeing and hearing all the stories about the animals!
Highly recommend taking the tour as seeing and hearing the many stories are memories we will always have. What great work the owner and all employees do there!!
My family and I visited Keepers of the Wild in October 2017.
The sanctuary is well kept and maintained, with clean facilities and enclosures. We were pleased to see how well the natural trees and wildlife were incorporated with the waking paths and animal enclosures.
The animals looked happy and had ample space and enrichment items provided for them.
The staff was friendly and always ready to answer questions even if they were in the middle of a task.
We enjoyed cooling off afterward on the patio outside the gift shop with the beautiful plants and flower and watching the hummingbirds visit.
Will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Congratulations to the most caring team of the world! Best experience ever. Love you and the animals, the 'cats' in particular ❤️
I brought my 3 year old and it was such an amazing experience. Everyone is so nice and kind to the animals. We will definitely be going back soon!!!! Keep up the good work guys
I could only put 5 stars....would have put many many more!
I love this place! It truely is a place for these beautiful creatures to live out thier lives and experience the "wild" that they were deprived of. The crew does an excellent job of caring for all these diverse animals day in and day out! I am proud to say i have had the opportunity to be a part of this place. ...aside from being a mother, this was my favorite job! The energy that is at Keepers of the wild is refreshing! My children have also been apart of this wonderful place... making foraging toys for the primates, learning about the many animals and their stories, and being educated as to how we can help when we are not at the park....(educating their friends).
Ive also had the privilege of meeting the board of director and i have to say, those people are awesome! They really care!!
Big shout out to Jonathan Kraft and Tina Matejek....just two of the badasses that have worked their butts off to make the sanctuary what it is, and ive enjoyed the times i got to work with these two and pick their brains. Fun times!!!Both are very intelligent humans and im honored to know them. Also to the behind the scenes people that i adore...
Nicole, Labre, Diane, Linda...and all the volunteers that contribute to the wellbeing of these beautiful creatures. They are doing an amazing job. Keep up the awesome work. Its a great place to spend the day!!!
KEEPERS OF THE WILD FOR LIFE!!!!
We love our trips to Keepers of the Wild, the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable with all the animals there. The animals seem happy and well cared for. We do not go to circus shows because of how the animals are treated so Keepers is a great place for us to see the animals being cared for and the back story. My kids have a deep understanding and agree on why not to go to circus show. Our favorite time is during feeling time. They are so active and vocal. Truly a gem.
Such a beautiful place that truly cares about the animals in their care. Thank you for all your doing.
While visiting my sister, she took me to see Keepers of the Wild. It was wonderful. The animals were in great shape and you could just tell that the staff truly care for the animals. the sanctuary was very clean and the enclosures were well made. I have told many friends to be sure and visit the lovely park. I am looking forward to going again
We've made several visits to Keepers of the Wild over the years. It has been a blessing to watch it continue to grow into an amazing experience for both the variety of animals living there and those of us visiting. Look forward to many more years of visits and growth.
I took my son and daughter in law to Keepers. Was the best time we have had. The lions are my favorite part of the park. I am so glad that Keepers were able to get more. I have missed the roar in the park. I like the way they have moved the animals around and the enclosures look great. I will surely be coming back. Thank you Jonathan for all that you have done. You are truly the animals voice.
I love going to see animals at Keepers of the Wild. Animals look healthy and happy as they are living nice habitats and being treated with love.
I have taken my grandchildren twice now. This place does not get old. Love their dedication to care and love for these beauties.
My family spends time in Arizona a few times a year. We go to Keepers of the Wild as often as we can. You can tell how much the workers love the animals. They take such good care of the animals. The animals are happy and healthy. It is sad to know about the mistreatment of these beautiful animals but so happy this place exsists. If you are ever in the area you must go!
Met Jonathon and Tina years ago. Got a tour of the facility with Jonathon and Tina. A lot of hard by both of these folks to save and care for these animals. I was really impressed that this is the last home for these animals with great care and a clean facility. Great place to visit!
When I lived in Kingman, AZ, I volunteered with Keepers of the Wild. It was such a rewarding experience to be a part of Jonathan Kraft’s vision in caring for the exotic animals there, many of whom had been mistreated or not cared for properly before arriving there. It was obvious that the organization cared deeply about these animals and their welfare. The experience also helped me come to appreciate certain types of animals, such as reptiles, that I hadn’t been too fond of previously. I had valuable experiences there and learned a lot, and it was also great fun. I’m proud of my volunteer time. I eventually moved out of the area, but I had the pleasure of visiting the current facility on a visit. It was great seeing how far the enclosures for the animals had come, how well cared for they still are. I had a great experience touring the facility.
My husband and I went right before my hip replacement. The facility was easy for me to walk instead of riding the tram. You can tell that this is a labor of love, because the animals are well taken care of by an amazing staff of very friendly people. The gift shop is well stocked with merchandise for all who visit the park. Before we left, we had some ice cream out on the back patio. I can't wait to go back with my grandsons. I know this will become a family tradition. Sharon from Yucca Az
My family and I have been to keepers of the wild multiple times and each time is like a new experience. It is a go-to when it comes to family fun day. My kids love the animals and I love almost everything about it lol. They offer food or you can bring your own, which with a growing family is a nice thing to be able to do. The staff are always friendly and my kids love to kearn about all the new animals they get each time we go. Keepers of the wild is a great place all around.
We went there over 12 years ago by mistake, driving through and found this awesome place. Decided to stop and donated to when Sulton was a baby lion. Awesome place, the keepers are informative the animals seem to be happy and well taken care of. None of them were pacing the fence. The keepers were friendly as well as the staff. We donated a large sum to Sulton to see what he is up to every year. Recommend visiting. Some day when I am in the area I will have to visit again. We drove from NJ passing through. So not a place I can locally visit.
This is a hidden pearl on the ole route 66. Magnificent animals and great and some horrible stories behind them.
Its not a zoo, but a sanctuary.
we did only find keepers of the wild because they had a deal on groupon, or else we would have bypassed on the route we had planned.
Keepers of the wild are unknown for the european turists. its not mentioned in our route 66 guides, which it should be.
Every person i meet, whom are going to las vegas, I always say to people they must visit keepers of the wild.
I've been to this park several times now, it's a great place to go, the staff is always kind and willing to answer questions about the animals, their animals seem to be healthy and well kept, I'm sure I'll be going again and again, always like to take new ppl with me to experience the park.
LOVE Keepers of the Wild! They are amazing, so professional and caring. They have done an amazing job at creating, maintaining and expanding their facility. The animals all look healthy and happy as they can be in captivity. The habitats are large and in their natural state. We always enjoy going there and sharing it with family and friends. I turn into a big kid when I am there. Jonathan and his staff are incredible and really care about the animals well being and happiness.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this facility. Beautiful, spacious enclosures. You can definitely tell the animals are loved and well cared for.
I went with my son & my father for a visit/ tour and was very impressed with the facilities and the care given to the animals there. They are truly attentive to the animals and their needs along with having plenty of room to roam and play. Just wish more wild animal rescues did so on the level that Keepers of the Wild does. It is definitely a great place to help support financially and if ever in the area definitely stop by, see for yourself & show your support to help care for these majestic rescued animals.
Such a wide variety of rescued animals, with a good amount of space for each of them. I've been to many zoos and sanctuaries throughout the states, and this one is by far my favorite. The people are also great.
Keepers of the Wild was a great and unique experience. You can tell that the handlers truly care and love for the animals.
Just went for the third time..took my daughter and her friends and everyone had a great time..Our guide, Tim, was excellent.....the animals are well cared for...Will definitely go back again..
Keepers of the Wild is amazing! I've been there many times with just my family as well as a large group of Boy Scouts. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient. It's great to see the progress the facility has made over the years and all the animals that they've taken in to be part of their forever home.
I was holidaying from Australia when I found this place on Route 66 in 2014, visited again in 2015 & visited for the 3rd time last month. I learn't an Indian saying whilst in America - "If all the animals were gone , man would die of a great loneliness of spirit". Animals have the power to touch our hearts- don't miss an opportunity to share your soul at Keepers of the Wild.
I visited a few days after stinky arrived he was still in quarantine...it was so relaxing and i was so content visiting all the animals ...i did not want to leave so i made a second round through the park and glad i did as they were all more active and ready for feeding....i enjoyed every second and spent 3 hrs by myself with animals...i really wanted to volunteer but have such a busy work schedule. This was one of the best weekends i had in a long time ...i traveled from bullhead city AZ and decided to go just out of the blue when i was reading article about stinky the lion..i really love lions but also all animals.thank you keepers of the wild and the staff who makes this rescue possible
I was so very touched by the story about The Miracle Wolves. Thank you so much for your kind and loving care for the animals.
Keepers of the Wild is such a great place. While visiting I could tell how loved and cared for those animals are. It's such a great experience.
This place is a true blessing! My husband and I have been here a few times, and are amazed each time. All animals are well fed and cared for. The owners and staff interact with them, and all are safe. Rescues from all over the country.
we drove three hours there last week to experience the keepers. We were totally impressed with the spaciousness of the enclosures, the cleaniness of the areas and the healthiness of the animals. Unfortunately there will always be wild animals in need of rescue from those situations that they never should have been in. Since the Keepers of the Wild depend on donations and grants to enable them to provide the quality of care that they are providing, they need all the help they can get. They are most deserving of grant monies and help in all areas. Taking care of animals is an ongoing cost but well worth every penny!!!
From the highway they look small, but don t be fooled. This place is bigger then you would think. Definitely do the tour if you go, the people here love these animals so much. And the animals are very well taken care of. I talked some of my hiking group into going and my mom, they all loved it too. We can't wait to go back again.
I love Keepers Of The Wild. It is such a wonderful place for the animals. It's so clean and the people are great. They are all so informative about the animals and conservation. I love the feeding tour. You get to see each animal up close. The tours are the best way to get all the inside information about each animal. They do wonderful work. I have been there a number of times and look forward to going again and again. I love to hear about all the new animals that arrive and have been rescued. Great place!
I have followed keepers of the wild for 20 years and the owner Jonathan has dedicated his life and all he has to the health and welfare of all of the animals! They are amazing
I have been to many animal themed locations and this place is a straight up 10! We went about a month ago and the care the animals receive and the great accommodations created for them are impressive. Keep it up guys!
Keepers of the wild is an excellent nonprofit for the animals in their care, the community, and the people that visit. It is educational and fun. We drove out from Las Vegas during a vacation and out of all the fun we had during that vacation. Keepers of the wild was the pinnacle of fun! We took the guided tour so we were told the background on all the animals and were educated on interesting facts about each species. After the tour we walked around and got to see the animals get ready for feeding time. Which was exciting to see all the big cats get up close to the feeding area while they awaited their meals.
Keepers of the Wild is seriously the best! These animals are loved and cared for! The staff is very knowledgeable. I love taking the kids to see all the animals.
My husband and I visited Keepers of the Wild while on a route 66 roadtrip at the end of September 2017. This was one of the main attractions I wanted to see and I wasn't disappointed. It was pretty hot when we were there so not surprised that most of the big cats were either lounging around or snoozing in the shade. There was one cheeky little monkey that started doing poses when I pulled my camera out - adorable! As a bonus, while walking along we saw several lizards and a couple of frogs beside the track. I got a few really good photos of tigers which now adorn my wall. All the animals were in great shape and appeared well looked after. I would have loved to do one of the tours but time was not on our side this trip.
Keepers of the Wild is the most compassionate & wonderful interpreter of misplaced animals. So very inspiring to animals that, for the most part, have been neglected & abused. I actually shed more than a couple of tears hearing the history's of these magnificent animals. There is no stress now in their faces now... maybe a cranky one here and there. I was too it was 100*
We have been to Keepers of the Wild at least four times and have enjoyed each experience. There always seems to be something new to see, and we also get to visit old freinds. It is very evident that these animals are well cared for and are cared about as well. We will most assuredly be back time and again.
Excellent sanctuary in terms of the care the rescued animals receive, as well as educating the public.
Keepers of the Wild was a exhilarating experience. We took the full tour and were treated with a brief story of how each animal arrived. Snacks were given to all and the property and enclosures were clean and spacious. I would recommend Keepers of the Wild for everyone!
We went there a few years ago. It was nice to see animals treated so well. They are doing a great thing and I love visiting!
The employees there are so knowledgeable. We always enjoy ourselves when we visit. It's so refreshing to know these animals are safe now and can live out their lives happy.
The love and compassion keepers has for the animals is amazing. Everyone is knowledgeable. The place is clean and beautiful. You can tell the animals are happy and well cared for
What can we say about Keepers of the Wild. We absolutely love that place! We make sure to take family there when they come into town because it's an awesome experience every time! You can tell they really love the animals, and the staff and volunteers are so caring and friendly. I would highly recommend Keepers of the Wild to anyone traveling through Arizona!
They do amazing work rescuing & educating the public to improve the lives & futures of these magnificent beings.
We plan to visit again, it’s been awhile since we’ve been last. We had a blast here and enjoyed seeing all the animals!
Highly recommend this place for a nice family outing.
We found Keepers of the Wild several years ago when we saw a video of Riley the coyote and his best bud Anthony the lion (rest in peace Anthony). This place does fabulous work for so many animals. On our last trip, all the S Dakota cats had just come. I particularly loved the wolf story of the miracle wolves. Keep up the good work. We are big fans and would be happy to spread the word. Michelle and Kevin - PA
We stopped at Keepers by finding a brochure as we traveled Rte 66 in 2016. This is one of the top stops we made on our trip. The care of these animals is outstanding. It seems the habitats are tailored for the type of animal that will live there. We have since sponsored 'Kitty' , a lynx.
We will sponsor her again for 2017. Do not pass this animal refuge. Plan on staying a couple of hours more than you thought you would. By the way, there are great people there too.
Jack & Meredith
They take such good care of ALL the animals and that includes birds. It a great place for kids to learn about the animals, and maybe see some of them for the first time.
My Grandkids will be coming out soon and that will be a stop for us.
Disgusting small dirty cages. Animals in deplorable conditions. Caretakes that clearly smelled after alcohol. Disgusting! Never again.
The people at Keepers of the Wild not only take wonderful care of all of the animals, they also obviously love each and every one, and it shows. The animals are healthy, well fed, and I am sure are very happy to be in such a beautiful place with such wonderful people, finally safe and secure for the first time in their lives. These people do not "work" at Keepers of the Wild, it is not a job to them, it is a calling, and I thank each and every one of them for what they are doing.
