I am very honored to be able to volunteer with J.O.S.H. I have found a way to really "support our military". They are fighting to protect our freedom. I am so thankful to them.
As a military mom of a Marine and Sailor, I cannot say enough about how great this organization is to the military community. Our troops often do not have basic hygiene items. J.O.S.H is there to send those items and food to our troops. I will continue to volunteer and support this cause.
This organization shipped countless amounts of care packages to myself and my troops while I was deployed to a remote combat outpost in Afghanistan in 2011. Kathy, the founder of J.O.S.H., always made sure my soldiers had everything they needed and was always asking what else she could do, or what other items she could send. She is running such a wonderful, well-organized, professional, yet kind, loving, and caring organization. Thank you Kathy and J.O.S.H!!!
Just Our Soldiers' Helpers Inc. (J.O.S.H.) was instrumental in helping my Troops last year; by shipping hundreds of pounds of CARE PAX to us at our remote Camp on the Horn of Africa. Every Soldier, Sailor, Airman & Marine stationed at this Joint Operations Base benefited from these shipments. This organization truly APPRECIATES our service men & women around the globe; choosing to lift our morale with kindness. My THNX to Kathy Hewitt & her crew!!! Senior Chief Jermyn, US Navy Seabees / 7th Regiment
The leadership team is a force to be reckoned with! Such a great cause with great people at the heart of it.
I was able to donate a batch of video games to our soldiers overseas through JOSH. After the donation, I received many personal emails from our soldiers and officers thanking me for the donation and letting me know what an impact I made. An unexpected bonus! Working with JOSH was very easy and professional. JOSH went out of their way to pick up my donations.
For the first time since I have been living in America, I had the experience of packing supplies for our soldiers. It was an amazing experience to see all those boxes full of supplies that feel ordinary for us but are so special for our heroes. J.O.S.H is an amazing non-profit!!!!
I met Kathy Hewitt, JOSH Founder, at an awards luncheon in 2013. We were both receiving awards that day. When Kathy told the "JOSH Story" I was deeply touched by the positive impact the organization has on deployed services members as well as her personal dedication to our veterans. I partnered with Kathy and JOSH to host a number of fundraisers and care package packing events at Seminole State College of Florida. 100% of all funds, resources, and efforts go directly to support the deployed veterans. This is one of the most honest, caring, and dedicated group of human beings I have met to date. My support continues...
I received a package every month the entire time I was deployed. Everything was of use and I was happy to get the little snacks. Thanks for he packages and keep doing what you're doing.
Just Our Soldiers Helpers (J.O.S.H.) is an amazing nonprofit organization that was started out of one amazing lady's desire and passion to help our nation's true heroes, the men and women who fight overseas for our freedom. Kathy, the founder, began this organization when she realized that many of our service men and women don't receive any care packages, or any of the personal care items that they need while deployed. This organization has shipped countless amounts of packages to our brave men and women since the year 2011. J.O.S.H. shipped to my husband, and many of his brothers in arms while they were deployed to Afghanistan in a remote combat outpost. Kathy truly has a big heart and she gives so much to make this organization great! She works so hard and is so selfless, giving so much of her time and even her own money to make this organization a success. J.O.S.H. ships care packages to all branches of the US military and has dreams of growing so they can do even more for our military men and women. This organization is one of the best nonprofits I have ever encountered!
I'm a teacher and for a class community service project we collect items to send to soldiers. We have also had "packing parties" (otherwise known as the night we pack boxes!) For the last three years we have been able to help JOSH send a few hundred care packages! Kathy Hewitt (founder) gave us guidelines and made it easy to work with her to accomplish so much for those deployed. I plan on continuing each semester to work with her and her organization. JOSH has given my students a window to the world and the encouragement to think beyond themselves. It also has helped us to express appreciation to those who put themselves on the line for our freedoms.
J.O.S.H. is first and foremost one of the best nonprofit organization out there who offer love and support to our deployed military men & women. For those who are unfamiliar with deployment, imagine this if u will...minimum 3-6 months away from your home, family, children, spouse/partner...not to mention the LUXURIES of modern society; hot meals, cold drinks, restrooms, showers, restaurants and the cushy warmth of your bed at night...these are sometimes nonexistent for our soldiers. In the some of the words made famous by Jack Nicholson. . .Everyone in America who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom they provide should offer themselves to help out and J.O.S.H has taken that challenge and has our 'SIX'. With that said, I commend J.O.S.H. for their diligence and hard work they provide to our soldiers. U are heroes and as a Veteran am very proud of your efforts. Kudos...
My son was recently deployed to Afghanistan and JOSH was there for his unit. The soldiers received packages from this group of volunteers that had never met these soldiers. This is a group of true Americans trying to make life away from home better for our brave men and women in uniform. I plan on signing up to volunteer with them myself.
One of my dear friends is dating a soldier that just returned from deployment (Brian Pilarski). She was telling me that Brian was telling her how supportive and helpful this organization was to not only him personally, but the entire group of soldiers!! He told her how genuine their love and care was and how appreciative all the soldiers were. What a huge difference it can make having the support and love they were able to give!! THANK YOU!!!
As the child of a veteran who has suffered for many years with PTSD because of his service in Vietnam and the pathetic way he was welcomed home after the war, I know the impact that not having support at home can have on our soldiers. JOSH and its founder, Kathy, support the soldiers with tangible items and, most importantly, the intangible lines of love sent from home.
This organization happened because one person wanted to take care of her nephew while he was deployed overseas...Since then, it has blossomed into an organization that takes care of everyone deployed overseas... Started with the greatest intentions and blossomed into an organization that now helps every, single soldier that they can....The organizer is so truly humble....It took time for her to realize that what she was trying to do was bigger than her, and bigger than her budget...but she still did it...and she still does it....this is an organization and a program that everyone can and should support....
I have personally seen the good and have been told by many just how important and helpful Just Our Soldiers Helpers have been to our troops. I can't say enough about the founders and volunteers that put the amount of time and effort in they do to put a smile on the face and a little humanity back into some of or nations hero's. If the scale went to 10, I'd give them 10 stars!
