It is my third year with the foundation, and it goes beyond to help others. It mostly consists of young people, but is very efficient and on task.
While serving on the board it's important to recruit some volunteers. My whole family are recruited and i love to give food out to the needy. I think Joshua has a big heart and influences us all in a great way.
Lets feed more hungry people with the love of giving we all want to share.
My daughter and I became involved with Joshua's Heart last summer in order to fullfill her middle school honor society service hours requirement. However, we enjoyed the experience so much, she has gone well beyond the number of hours that were required and the rest of the family has now gotten involved. My husband and I had spoken many times before about getting our children involved in community work so that they may grow to understand a broader view of the world around them and develop empathy for others. However, it is not easy to find an organization that welcomes young children to get involve and not only watch, but actually do hands on and lead the charitable work. That is Joshua's Heart. Founded by a young boy, who still leads it today, with the support of his mother and family, Joshua's Heart invites children of all ages to take part. Even my 2-3 year old helped us fill grocery bags at one of the last food distributions!
Joshua's heart foundation is such a unique organization. The simple fact that it took the heart and determination of one little boy, with the support of his mother and others around him, to make such a great difference in the lives of many, is inspirational in itself. Joshua is such a great role model and ambassador for children everywhere, and surely opens the eyes of adults as well, while leading in the arena of stopping world hunger. Joshua was kind enough to come out to our school on Career Day and motivate our Elementary school students to make a difference in the communities in which they live, in whatever way they can. He also demonstrated to them that you are never to young to move mountains. His humanitarian values resonate throughout the cafeteria and his words resounded in the ears of our young students. He made such an impression on them. Not only did Joshua attend Career Day, he developed a bond with our school, as he has with many. He graciously introduced and implemented his food distribution program to our families and the community, feeding 100 families. What a magnificent gesture for a Title one school which 90% of the student population is on free an reduced lunch. We are actually preparing for our second implementation of the food distribution program at the end of April. Joshua, his mother and entire staff are kind, caring, and giving. We appreciate their hard work, dedication and commitment towards making this world a better place one meal at a time. Thank you!!!
Joshuas Heart Foundation has been true to their word in helping communities combat hunger. They called to ask if our organization would like to distribute beverages to our clients, we said yes, and the delivered! Looking forward to working with a Foundation that keeps it word, when they say they are going to do something, they do it.
