Being on the board gives me an inside perspective of JobTrain’s staff and organization. JobTrain’s mission is to train those who have not had the opportunities to be prepared to enter the workplace to earn a living wage. This organization is very well run with staff members who do their jobs because they believe in this mission. The key to the organization’s success is not only its ability to enroll students in their programs, but to "wrap their arms around the students" to ensure that they do not fall through the cracks. JobTrain boasts an amazing 76% post-training placement of students with 89% continued placement one year later.

We all need a job, but for many obtaining the skills necessary to get a job is difficult (if not impossible) without the help of a competent and carrying organization such as JobTrain. As a board member of JobTrain I am blessed to have the privilege and honor to be part of an organization that is impacting the lives of so many in need. Carrying out their mission is not a trivial effort, but each day the JobTrain team brings heart and passion to accomplishing their goal - helping those most in need with getting a job. Rock on Job Train!!!

I'm currently not working but, I signed up with JobTrain for training so that I can get experience on Medical Assistant to receive the skills needed to get me a job. I got referred from PeninsulaWorks in Menlo Park located at JobTrain. The employees in PeninsulaWorks/JobTrain were WONDERFUL, PROFESSIONAL, AND, HELPFUL. I am now waiting to attend JobTrains Medical Assistant program at JobTrain. I'm extremely excited for my new journey as becoming a Medical Assistant.

I have worked with Job Train for the past 4 years and have found them to be a community organization with an impeccable record. I could go and on but these figures speak for themselves; 8,000 people served in 2013, 87% enrolled in full-time vocational training completed their program, 76 graduates placed in careers and 88% still working one year later and many of them promoted. With daytime and evening training programs, Job Train serves the adult and the youth communities. To find out more about Job Train, please check out their web site at www.jobtrainworks.org.

Jobtrain is a wonderful non-profit, they helps everyone that comes through the door. From unemployed, underemployed and all walks of life. JobTrain is there to help train clients and help them obtain jobs. They get a since of pride in themselves, and are able to become self sufficient. I am speaking from experience, as I was laid off and attended the Medical office assistant class. They were very supportive in all aspects. I am now a full time employee; helping the same clients that I once was.... 5 Stars for JobTrain.

I attended Computer Service Technician class after getting displaced as computer applications programmer, at which I had worked steadily for over 30 years. JobTrain taught me skills I needed to join MileStone Technologies as IMAC technician, moving computers between sites. I would never have gotten hired to another job without JobTrain's outstanding instruction, support and facilities!

I started a internship here at Jobtrain. I learned so many things throughout the months that I thought to myself it would be great to work here because it was easy for me to commute, the people here were nice, and I liked what I did. I started from April 2014 - to July 2014 as an intern. I was working with Ana Gomez whom worked here at Jobtrain. I would always help her and she taught me some things she did, but also so I can get experience, between those 3 months I felt like I actually worked here;It was then that there was a job opening and thought why not apply and take a chance. I think it was the best thing I did because thanks to Ana I got the job and I'm almost to my 3 months of working for Jobtrain. It has been the best experience ever.

As the Facilities Manager I'm going to laud an aspect of JobTrain that hasn't been addressed yet in all these reviews and that is the facility itself. JobTrain isn't a hole in the wall operation! We have over thirty thousand square feet of classrooms, administration, support services for students as well as outside partner agencies housed here, along with parking and outdoor amenities beyond that thirty thousand square feet! And we could do so much more given the resources!

Our staff and faculty constantly review and refine our approach to providing the best environment possible for students and clients, and while it's always a challenge to keep from bursting at the seams with the demands of what we accomplish here, we are darned proud of the results! Great people! Great place! This organization deserves to be supported so that it can continue to grow and move forward on its mission.

I have been a supporter of Job Train for over 20 years (back when it was known as OICW). I am so impressed with the work that they do and their clients' success rates. This is truly an effective organization that is helping people out of poverty by providing education, hands-on training, mentoring, and childcare. Their clients are motivated and dedicated to improving their situations through hard work and an interest in learning new marketable skills.

JobTrain is where I got my start after relocating to California. I was hired as the Receptionist after completing my Clerical Skills Course, later I was hired as Counseling Clerk and thereafter the Office/Computer Skills Instructor. JobTrain is a great organization to obtain your livelihood and become a self sufficient individual.

I fully believe in and support Jobtrain's mission. Education is key to succeeding in todays world but unfortunatley not everyone has the opportunity to go to school and obtain certain degrees. Jobtrain helps those in need despite their background by providing classes that would certify them in skills that are in demand in today's economy. It not only serves as an educational institution, but also further assists their clients in finding employment. Jobtrain helps individuals become contributing members of society.

I am honored to serve on the JobTrain Board. I am a basketball coach and JobTrain is a GREAT team to be part of! The team is led by Sharon Williams. She is surrounded by a caring staff and knowledgeable teachers. Success in the job market is about having a needed skill set. People that graduate from JobTrain are prepared to contribute to the economy with meaningful jobs. I know this first hand. When I wanted a party catered I hired a JobTrain graduate who had his own business of a food truck (Papa's Fusion). I knew he would be dependable and that the food would be delicious. (and it was!!!!) Join the JobTrain team by either graduating from one of the many outstanding programs, volunteering or contributing! Join a winning team, join JobTrain!

The best way to experience the transformative power of JobTrain is to attend a graduation ceremony. Come and you will see dozens of folks stunned and thrilled to have completed the first step of the rest of their lives. JobTrain gives folks who have never had a first chance a second chance to enter society, be productive, and have a great life. They have been quietly doing so for decades and it is high time more people learn about this great organization.

Adam Weiner is possibly the best teacher I've ever had and Jobtrain is an amazing program. I've never been a part of anything like Jobtrain and I am so grateful to have had such a unique experience. I've learned skills and tricks that no one except someone like Adam could teach. I'm sorry to see Mime's close b/c I wish more young people could have the amazing experience that I've had. I am an autism specialist for SEUHSD assigned to Woodside H.S. I enrolled in the academy to perfect my skills in culinary science in hopes of applying the content to my classroom. I am developing a transition curriculum for ASD students of which CA is part of the offering. Chef Adam's cause is outstanding for my intention. His teaching style is one to be emulated by all certs. His capacity to retrieve highly challenging learners is exemplary! I am taking back to my classroom a full year of coursework i.e. content methodology, strategies, equipment, materials. By the by, I am a full time student who will divide up her enrollment calendar as follows: 3x week July-Aug, 2x week Dec, 7x week summer 2009. I came to JobTain to increase my computer skills so I could be more job marketable. It is such a warm and caring atmosphere. The staff here all seem to be very dedicated and enjoy their jobs. Its services goes beyond the actual computer classes. The have a clothes closet to find clothes for your interviews and a career closet they send you to where they have very high quality clothes to also help for interviews. They have mock interview training. Help with resumes. Life Skills training. Speakers from various companies. I could go on and on. This school is far more that I expected. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to increase their skills in just about any field. It is all free. What more could you ask.

I was dislocated from my job in March, 2008 and was in the real estate/mortgage lending industry. I have had a very hard time trying to transition into a new career. JobTrains has helped gain some much needed skills in order for me to hopefully obtain that. I am in the office skills class and learning how to use Microsoft applications. Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook. I am very pleased with the fact that I also didn't have to pay for these classes out of my own pocket. Being a single mother and out of work, it sometimes can be very difficult to make ends meet but JobTrains has definitely given me the advantage that I need in order to be successful in my career and not have to worry about the financial part. I have recommended JobTrains to two of my former coworkers and my daughter. They have all started going to classes here as well. JOBTRAINS IS WONDERFUL AND A GODSEND!!!!!!

I can work at my own pace and each day when I leave I feel more and more confident about myself which is GREAT!

When I came here to JobTrain I honestly thought I wasn't going to stay here very long, becasue I'v never really liked school. However, that wasn't the case at all, I ended up really liking the people and environment. Whenever I needed help with anything, there was always somewhere there to answer my questions. This program has helped me out with all the things that I thought I would never be able to learn.
