I first became involved with Jewish Family Services in June 2012 through their Success program. It was an incredible life change for me. I had been unemployed for nearly 4 months and job searching for more than 6 months and was losing hope and motivation that I would find a job. Through the Success program I worked with an incredible Career Consultant who gave me support and encouragement. She helped me re-write my resume and create three separates ones designed at different jobs I was targeting. The workshops were wonderful and the highlight of my week was the meetings for the Success program clients. It was nice to get out, interact with others in the same situation and offer each other support, encouragement, and networking. I have recommended the services that Jewish Family Services offered to several friends who are also unemployed, new to the area and job searching, or looking for a career change. I credit the Success program with helping me get back to work - the job I finally landed I had applied to three separate times and the third time was with my new resume and I walked into my interview armed with new tips, tricks, and hints to make me stand out and be successful!
As a professional in the field, living out of town, when my family in Columbus was in need we turned to Jewish Family Services. When a family member's life was falling apart mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially, we were desperate for answers and services. The need for support and services was clearly one of life and death. This case was extremly complex - especially because the person in need was not fully aware of how dire their situation was. JFS was there with us every step of the way. Living out of town, it was hard to be involved at a level that was needed. JFS was available and accessible every step of the way. They helped us identify and access approriate services within JFS and the State system, providced support for an intervention, provided support to family members, and provided excellent follow-up. JFS was a partner and stayed with us as we navigated a very unusual and difficult situation. Today, after a near death experience, my family member is healthy, happy, and building her life. Thank you JFS for your remarkable support!!
Thanks to all at JFS for giving me the skills to get re-employed! After many months looking for a new job, the knowledgeable staff at Jewish Family Services helped me to refine the search, rework my resume, and kick-start the networking I needed to get a contract job in Distributon and then a new career in Pharmaceuticals. I highly recommend them as a COWIC agency and a great group of experts.
I dropped out of the workforce for two years for personal reasons, and when I began looking for employment again, Jewish Family Services and its workshops were absolutely invaluable to me! EVERY workshop or class I attended was insightful, well-run, and even enjoyable! I KNOW that I definitely improved my interview skills immeasurably, and I am confident that the reason I found the right job and nailed it (eventually) was because I had "prepped" so much with Jewish Family Services' help! I cannot recommend this organization highly enough! Nancy J. Golden
Jewish Family Services were a tremendous help while I was looking for a new job, the workshops I attended were so valuable and empowering! I had been working in the arts & non-profits for 10 years, and after being laid-off, I attended a few workshops at JFS and found the information and attention to detail by the instructors invaluable. The instructors were so professional and they were on top of current trends. I came away with some very helpful tools to frame my approach in presenting myself on paper in my resume and cover letters and in my interviews and networking opportunities.
I can attest that JFS truly makes a difference in people's lives because it has made a significant difference in mine and my family’s. Two years ago we experienced serious difficulties that had us suddenly struggling. A friend suggested that we contact JFS. The staff at JFS were caring and supportive. They jumped in and gave us the practical help we desperately needed to get through our most immediate problems. They also connected us with the resources to help us in the long term. This was all done with the utmost kindness and sensitivity. All of the staff have been wonderful but I can’t say enough good things about Lisa Carroll. She is an extremely positive person who problem-solved and stood by us. Today we are in a much better place than we were two years ago and JFS is a big reason why.
Jewish Family Services (JFS) in Columbus, Ohio helped me out during one of the hardest time of my life. I had lost the only job I had held as an adult. I had worked for the same company for 25 years and had rarely had to interview for positions within the company as I moved around by reputation. I am one of those people who identity IS their job. During my 16 months of unemployment the time I spent in the Success program was where I gained my confidence back and learned that there were many others in the same situation I was in. Well respected professionals that had lost positions through no fault on their part, but a matter of economics. The 'Why' often doesn't matter when you are in that position. The members of the Success team and every employee I met at JFS offered patience, caring, understanding and when it was needed in my case some gentle prodding. They helped to find job leads. They helped make my resume even more professional and tailor it to the business I was applying to. They offered me a chance to do several mock interviews because my skills in that area were lacking. They provided encouragement and feedback along the way. Even now after I have been employed for over 2 years I still hear from the person who offered me my main guidance. I would especially like to thank Lora Fish for all of her help in the program! This program is amazing and I truly appreciate the opportunities.
I want to express my appreciation to JFS and the talented professionals operating the SUCCESS program. The personal commitment demonstrated by the team was incredibly helpful and allowed me to reach my goal. The one on one and group support meant so much to me, but even more the state of the art information related to resume writing and interview coaching allowed me to identify and articulate transferable skills and create a successful marketing strategy.
Every dislocated worker should have the opportunity to experience the knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of such a team. Thank you very much!
Words can not express the thanks I want to give to JFS-SUCCESS program that I been a member since 2009. When I lost my job after working long hours for almost 5 years, Mindy Agin was there to help me pick up the pieces. First she got me a loan to cover the first month bills until unemployment kicked in! Next she got me into the Success program on Wednesday where I met Jim Hake, April Walters,Justin Keaton,Lora Fish on a weekly basis. They all were very important in helping me get job leads, attending classes that gave each month, listening to the speakers every wed.Of Course the leader of this great group of caring, helpful and kind is the one and only Karen Hughes , who I first met in 2005 when I suffered my first layoff in over 20 years. She helped me with my first resume that I had to write. Last but not least is the Director of Business Relations is Lynn Aspey. Who Together with Mindy did several mock interviews and got me many job leads. Through that I got the job lead that I think will be my dream job. THANK YOU THANK YOU!
I first became involved with the JFS Success Group a few months after my long-term operations management position with Macy’s was eliminated. Until then, my job search was going nowhere. Then I met Mindy Agin and the wonderful team of professional counselors at JFS. Suddenly, I had a dedicated and compassionate counselor who gave my search the focus and direction it lacked. The entire Success team at JFS provided support and insured I was equip with the confidence, the resume, the interview and networking skills necessary to search for, and secure a new position. I recently began that new position. I am truly grateful to the entire team and especially Lynn Aspey, who provided a little extra push at just the right time! Thank you one and all. Sincerely, DP.
JFS not only helped me professionally with my resume' and training courses on various relevant topics but assisted in boosting my self confidence during a time of struggle. I was treated both professionally and courteously by every team member of JFS. The Wednesday meetings, round table discussions and continuous feedback and follow-up provided me a lifeline back into the working world. I cannot say enough good things about JFS and their staff.
The SUCCESS Program was like a life-line; Jim Hatch was an excellent mentor; and, along with the entire Jewish Family Services' staff, gave me encouragement and direction in my search for employment. I will always be grateful for their professionalism and attention to me as an indvidual. I am currently employed and know that without JFS, chances are I would not be. Thank you all!!!
I cannot say enough good things about the programs and staff of Jewish Family Services in Columbus, especially Lisa Carroll, Danielle Ruben, Tim McNish, Jim Hatch, and June Gutterman.
JFS's Bonei Mishpachot program is truly a lifesaver, helping individuals cope with the financial and emotional straits; while JFS's job-search programs provide those in career transition with the tools, training, advice, and support necessary to conduct a successful job-search campaign.
The SUCESS program was fantastic! Very supportive staff! Great support in times of need. Glad they are around!
The success program and Jim Hatch are fantastic. They are helping me be successful in my job search. They are available with great tips and help in this time of few jobs.
I was laid off after 12 years. How to find a job has changed drastically. I went to the unemployment office. I have a Masters degree but most of the programs at the unemployment office were designed for non professionals. I found the Jewish family service through the Veteran Affairs.
As I said, looking and finding a job is very different in today’s economy. The Jewish family services taught me how to change the things I was going. There were lots of FREE classes designed to you relearn the art of finding a job. There are weekly meetings with guess speaker. These meeting keep on track. They also put you in touch with people that may be able to help. You learn there are other people in the same boat and they help keep your spirits up and positive. The people running the program are very friendly and professional. Their knowledge and contacts are just as good as any paid program. They treat everyone with respect and concern for you situation. They repeatedly went out of their way to assist me. I can’t say enough about the whole program.
After being laid off from my job of 16 years, I joined the SUCCESS program being run by JFS. It was a wonderful, helpful, supportive program that gave form and purpose to my job search and my life during a difficult transitional time. In addition to the expected supports for resume writing and interview preparation and the like, I believe that the program's key component for me was the one-on-one relationship with a counselor and the backing of the program team. It is critically important for someone who has been thrown into uncertainty to have an individual who cares, is a listening board, a cheer leader and can give advise and counsel. It was directly as a result of my counselor's dogged encouragement to take a step that was outside my comfort zone and that I was reluctant to take, that led directly to a work opportunity that eventually led me back to a full-time position in my field. I will be forever grateful to my counselor, to the SUCCESS team and for the fact that the program was there for me when I needed it.
Jewish Family Services of Columbus, Ohio, was instrumental in helping me find work. JFS staff re-wrote my résumé, helped me prepare for interviews, etc. Also, the ideas and experiences shared with other job seekers was very helpful.
Also, JFS bombarded me with emails from every possible job opening in my field. One of them led to my job.
Most importantly, JFS provided needed encouragement when I needed it the most.
I rate JFS as A++.

JFS helped me more than I can say during my time of unemployment. They gave me confidence, interviewing skills, resume writing skills, and the support of a group of wonderful people. Their support helped me go out and nail my job interview and get the job I wanted.
The staff at Jewish Family Services helped me immeasurably. They are professional, compassionate, and really kept me on track during my employment search. The support of the staff, and camaraderie of the group of SUCCESS participants, gave me the encouragement and confidence I needed to keep me moving forward and land my new job. I highly recommend the organization.
When I lost my job in 2009, I had not been out of work in years. A friend recommended the SUCCESS program with JFS, which I joined. Throughout my job search, I became depressed, gained weight, and there were days when I was overwhelmed and down. Throughout the whole process, my counsellor, Karen Hughes, served as my biggest cheerleader, helped me to brainstorm, and encouraged me to attended the weekly meetings.
I attended a workshop to become more acquainted with LinkedIn, several weekly informal sessions and a couple of the more formal Wednesday morning sessions and found every service provided to me from JFS to be exceptional.
I am in a long term contract role, now, but still have not landed that elusive full time job; however, Karen continues to provide me with help and guidance. The SUCCESS program provides so much more than resources to help locate work; it provides comfort, support, suggestions, training, and all the resources a roomful of highly trained professionals can employ.
I cannot recommend this program or JFS enough.
Words can not describe the Hope, Help, Comfort and monthly ongoing support that I recieved through JFS and what this all has mean to me and my family. I had just left my husband, could not find a place to live, did not know where to turn. They held out thier arms and held up me and my children for almost 2 years. Monthly script for food, counseling, holiday events, and just a loving warmth and caring that we needed. Backpacks and school supplies when I could not afford them. They have never asked for one thing back in return. I wish I could tell everyone in this whole community about how they touch the lives of so many families in Columbus, but they just say no, keep it quite. They also do not want to embarrass anyone, or single out anyone. Hanukkah, Passover, Rosh Hashanna was special in my house thanks to JFS- I would have had nothing from time to time without them. They made us whole and we are thriving now because of all the good work they do. THANK YOU!!!
A friend of mine recommended that I contact JFS when I was initially unemployeed. I contact Jim Hatch and he mentioned that they had just closed the open enrollment, but to stay in touch and they would have another enrollment in July. While attending JobLeaders, I met Mindy and attended her siminar "Ace the Interview". I stayed in touch and in June I was called by Karen. I was invited to attend their weekly Wednesday meetings and I had a chance to network with many qualified people. Karen also helped me fine tune my resume. Over the time that I was with JFS, they were always supportive and several times we meet and reviewed the progress that I was making. I even recommended that a friend of mine join the group. During the time that I was with JFS, I got involved with The United Way and took part in the LogisticART program througn Columbus State. Without being about of the JFS group, I would never have had that chance. It was through a brainstorming meeting in February, that my resume was sent to someone that the staff knew and he forwarded by resume onto others. I landed an Operations Manager position that was not posted anywhere on the internet. Without the help of JFS, I would not have his job now. I will stay in touch with Karen and her staff and I will continue to recommend JFS to my friends.
This was the ONLY non-profit organization that I felt privileged, fortunate and honored to be accepted into. This program was such a blessing for me and my family. I felt so broken, exhausted and worn down. I could not figure out what I was doing wrong when it came to finding employment. I thought I know everything about getting a job, but yet I felt so overwhelmed. Shelia Camden and so many other employees were so confident & knowledgeable about the subject matter at hand that it made me feel as though they were my family because I could ask or share anything with them, knowing that I would receive an honest and helpful answer.
Columbus Jewish Family Services is awsome ! Without Mindy Anglin & Lora Fish I would not have landed amazing job at The Ohio State University, Office of Academic Affairs. The employment support services at Columbus Jewish Family Services top tier.. from resume developemt , to workshops & most importnat for me; Social Media workshop !
This organization helps people in the community address psycho social needs ranging from unemployment, holocaust survivors to adult care issues. This organization is available to the community at large but could be viewed as a haven for people who are Jewish. Many years ago, I was a recent Master level graduate and this agency was incredibly helpful to me
If Jewish Family Services were not around, there would be a lot of great people still out of work. God's speed, JFS!
Lynn Aspey at JFS is one of my most favorite people on the planet. Her energy is contagious. When the Scioto Ridge Job Networking Group was looking to conduct it's first career fair, Lynn was the first person we called. Through her experience in promoting career fairs, Lynn was instrumental in guiding through the process. The career fair was a great success. Thanks much, Lynn!
JFS is a wonderful organization and all of the Consultants that I have met put their heart and soul into helping others. They are top notch professionals and take their jobs very seriously. I would highly recommend this organization in your job search as they work very hard for each and every person they serve.
The Verizon Wireless Human Resources Team has partnered with Lynn Aspey and her team for years providing resume / interviewing tips to help displaced workers get back to work. It has been a pleasure to work with the JFS team.
I cannot say enough good things about the programs and staff of Jewish Family Services in Columbus, especially Lisa Carroll, Danielle Ruben, Tim McNish, Jim Hatch, and June Gutterman.
JFS's Bonei Mishpachot program is truly a lifesavers, helping individuals cope with the financial and emotional straits; while JFS's job-search programs provide those in career transition with the tools, training, advice, and support necessary to conduct a successful job-search campaign.
I have been so fortunate to work with Mindy Agin, a counselor in the Workforce Development Department of the Columbus JFS. Mindy and I knew each other from the community and she readily included me in her large group of opportunity- seekers. I have a varied background and Mindy coached me so that we focused on relevant skills - my resume is impressive thanks to Mindy! As a former Board member and client (!) I can say with gusto that Mindy and JFS contribute tangibly to the community of Columbus.
I met Lynn Aspey, while employed with an outpatient physical/occupational therapy organization. My initial impression of Lynn has maintained to the present - a devoted leader with a dedicated passion for serving the Central Ohio area. I look forward to continued projects with Lynn.
While at RedEnvelope, Inc., I was responsible for high volume seasonal recruiting and developing meaningful work relationships with a very diverse workforce. Shortly after my arrival at RedEnvelope, Inc., I had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Aspey, a true dynamo at JFS. In a series of enlightening meetings, I was very confident that a partnership between our two organizations would be very fruitful in achieving not only my agreesive recruiting goals, but also, JFS could assist in providing cultural awareness and other community outreach services that my employees were in need of. Over the course of two years, Lynn and I were successful at providing over 600 seasonal associates with employment, brideged cultural gaps and even worked on the COTA Mobility Board to bring a much needed bus line to the Rickenbacher area to enable increased job accessibility to potential employees. My association with Lynn has empowered me to recommend Jewish Family Services to my peers. My experience also was such that I can proudly say that throughout my time at RedEnvelope Inc., we were proud donors of JFS. I continue to support the efforts that the organization makes under the guidance of Lynn because I believe in her mentality, connecting the non-profit world with the private sector for the benifit of those she serves.
When I was laid off by my employer, I joined the SUCCESS program at JFS to get assistance in finding a new career path. I worked mostly with Mindy Agin, but also some with the other SUCCESS counselors, as they provided me with excellent guidance. Specific things that were extraordinarily helpful to me were (1) coaching on interview skills including performing mock interviews sessions, (2) preparation of a professional and powerful resume, (3) weekly seminars and discussion groups with other SUCCESS participants, and (4) loads of advice on how to pursue employers and jobs of interest. I have recommended many friends and former colleagues to take advantage of their great services. I feel absolutely confident that the fact that I was able to get a new job in a down economy had a lot to do with the help that I got from the JFS team - their advice helped me stand out from the pack and win the job offer!
The JFS-SUCCESS program has many dedicated couselors who provide workshops and individual feedback to enhance confidence that all the best techniques are being utilized to improve the job search process. The weekly "Connecting with Success" meetings provide opportunities to network and find out what is working for others in the job search process. These meetings also bring in experts from the community to help explore different perspectives and approaches to the job search. I found that I was much more confident in my own abilities after attending the workshops and meetings. I found a job after about a month with JFS and feel that much of my success is directly tied to this program!
I have worked with Lynn Aspey at Jewish Family Services on the Easton Job Fair for the past five years. Lynn is an extremely hard worker – who has an outstanding passion for what she does, a genuine desire to help the central Ohio community and its businesses, and what seems like an unlimited amount of energy! She is a great resource for all things employment and I look forward to working with her each year.
I have presented 3 times at JFS to present to their job seekers in their S.U.C.C.E.S.S. program. I am a HR Consultant for small to mid-sized organizations and my discussion was to help job seekers target and understand interviewing with those types of organizations better. JFS was extremely professional in on-boarding me, welcoming and introducing me and allowing time for Q&A's. They are very client-oriented and involve their community to help their clients in every way, shape and form. I love being associated with them. They are an example of how a community organization should work.
My experience with Jewish Family Services has been excellent. I have used their career placement service for about 4 years. I send them all of my job postings and they provide me candidates that might be a good match. But they don't just send me resumes, they call and ask any questions they might have about my posting. And when they have a candidate for me, the counselor working with that candidate calls me to provide a detailed background and salary range if applicable, so I have a good amount of information on each candidate. Their service is always extremely professional, upbeat, and they really care about helping their candidates find the right job, not just any job. I would highly recommend working with Jewish Family Services to anyone in the HR field!
My experience with Lynn Aspey and JFS has been tremendous. Lynn's passion to serve those folks who need help shines through. JFS does a wonderful job of promoting and educating professionals who need the services they provide.
I have been involved with JFS for over 5 years now and have been extremely impressed with the programs they have for displaced employees in their career search. The programs are detailed and well thought out, and the instructors are all compassionate and knowledgeable. I recommend candidates to JFS on a regular basis.
I have donated my time to conduct several seminars for Jewish Family Services over the years ... and it is always a pleasure. JFS takes an active role in trying to teach managers and supervisors how they can build better workplace relationships with their employees and helping businesses succeed. JFS has also strived to assist those people who are looking for work in these tough economic times by provding them with trainnig on how to search for jobs, interview, draft resumes and so on. Jewish Family Services takes an extremely active role in helping the people and the businesses of central Ohio be more successful. JFS is a great asset to our community and I am proud to conduct training sessions for them whenever they want.
My experience with JFS was that they care about helping me with my job search and things that I need like my resume and cover letters plus showing me how to do thank you letters. They give me good ideas for job hunting and keep me from getting discoureged.I feel like I will find a job with JFS helping me because they care about the community.
JFS is a great non-profit. I came to them because I know many who speak so positively about them. I have not been a client long, but the interviewing workshop I attended was tremendous. A huge help. I am also receiving loads of attention from my counselor,Tim McNish. He lets me know whenever something of interest comes up. I am looking forward to receiving more help from JFS.
I was laid off from my job in February 2009 and contacted Jewish Family Services for help. I was immediately placed into a program with similarly displaced workers. We met weekly as a group, and there was always a speaker or workshop on a relevant topic. They also met with me privately to assess my skills, update and improve my resume, and help me with mock interviews. I am absolutely certain that I would not have found a new job nearly as quickly were it not for the help I received from JFS. My only criticism is that I was so impressed with their organization following my experience that I told them I'd like to get involved as a volunteer, and then I never heard from anyone.
Jewish Family Services has been a wonderful community resource for us. We are able to post jobs with JFS, and in return receive resumes of qualified individuals, which has resulted in new hires for The CareWorks Family of Companies. In addition, JFS has hosted job fairs that are of great value to employers looking to hire quailty individuals. I love JFS and the work they do. Our community is a much better place because of the work they do in helping Ohioans get back into the workforce.
I refer many people to Jewish Family Services throughout the year for job placement, interviewing, and resume building assistance. They have a rigorous program that I think leads the pack in preparing people for employment opportunities. They have a friendly, professional staff of people who care deeply about those they serve. I think this organization is quite deserving of a Job Training and Placement award for their dedication and success in preparing people in their community for employment.
I have been a participant in Jewish Family Services' SUCCESS program for two and a half weeks. In that short time, I have attended a workshop on resume writing, a workshop on cold calling/follow-up, an all-day Microsoft Access training seminar (at Eastland Career Center), a mock interview (with three career counselors), and three weekly meetings where there are always great networking opportunities and knowledgeable speakers. I also have had lots of one-on-one assistance with my counselor, including help revising my resume.
The Success program has been a great experience. I personally had my resume rewritten and became aware of the networking opportunities that are available. The workshops offered in resume writing, networking ,interview skills as well as training in programs such as Excel are a great help in my career search. The staff members are highly professional and available to clients. I highly recommend the SUCCESS program and its staff.
I REFER MANY OF MY MENTAL HEALTH CLIENTS TO JFS VOCATIONAL SERVICES, AND THE LEVEL OF EXPERTISE AND SUCCESS THAT MY CLIENTS GAIN IS EXTRAORDINARY!
I was introduced to the JFS SUCCESS program via another networking organization. As a displaced worker I found I qualified for the program to receive career counseling, networking support, and training to help develop my job search strategies. The career counselors at JFS are passionate individuals dedicated to helping their clients and colleagues achieve success in finding good jobs.
Jewish Family Services among other services has provided me with their S.U.C.C.E.S.S program service. This is an outstanding job search support program for professionals. I believe that it is the only one in the country with this federal contract. I receive as much one on one consultation as I need from, networking groups, a highly experienced personal career coach, as well as exceptionally excellent job search workshops on resume writing, interviewing, networking, etc.. These are the real deal, not just the basics, but the best information, with many many practical tools and take home materials. The entire staff makes themselves available for any need you may have with your job search at any time. This program is a gem!
This is a wonderful organization that is highly involved in the community. They not only help people get back to work, but they also help other organizations in the community achieve their goals. For instance, I work for a local Universty that focuses on Adult degree programs. JFS provides information to their contacts, as well as their clients, about any available educational opportunities or events that we are holding. A relationship with JFS means a mutually beneficial, long-tern partnership.
It is a pleasure to work with JFS in Columbus, OH. They are recognized in the community as creators and organizers. They create avenues for their clients to explore for a variety of professional opportunities. They organize the community to support, attend and sponsor career fairs. I view JFS as a great networking resucre. They know everyone. Many professinoals in Columbus, OH couldn't have found their employment opportunity without the support, direction, contacts and drive of the team at JFS. They do it all; Resume preparation, interview training, suggest new skills to acquire, where to search for jobsedentials under my belt. JFS is made up of a highly professional staff who offer an affordable program for those who may have been downsized for a variety of reasons and just need a second chance. They provide hope for those who a push to believe in themselves again. I encourage everyone to support JFS.
JFS is a Columbus, Ohio gem. They go the extra mile with each and every individual who walks though their door (or calls on the phone). Their set of services is comprehensive and job seekers not only get the training and placement assistance they most desperately need, they also receive family and individual counseling needed during a time of crisis.
JFS understands that a crisis in one part of your life can affect you and your family in many other parts of your life. They serve the "whole," rather than just treating the symptom.
I needed some financial assistance and thought since I was a member of the Jewish Community that this would be a good place to start looking. They were extremely receptive on the telephone and very quickly got me in to see a case worker. The meeting was quick and easy. They then provided the help I needed all in a couple of days. It was a very comforting experience as I had no where else to turn.
I cannot express how much JFS has meant to my family over the years, They have always been there to help in that critical time of need. My family doesn't have the best of luck ,and JFS has always been there to help. My mother recently passed away ,and it was an extremely troubling ordeal, JFS went above and beyond by helping my father and I deal with the process of her burial in dealing with the funeral home and the cemetery ,as I sit here with tears coming down my cheek thinking of my Mother ,I know how much my mother appreciated JFS and all they have done for my family and the countless others. The staff at JFS could not be better, my mother had a special relationship with Lisa Carrol a member of JFS's staff and I have seen firsthand how wonderful of a person she really is. I have spoken with her on the telephone and in person and she is truly one in a million. I cant thank her enough for all she has done for my family..
The SUCCESS Porgram though Jewish Family Service is an excellect resource for anyone that has lost a job and is in need of Career Consultants. They did a professional ( GREAT ) job in helping me from: resume writing, job search, networking, to job interviewing planning. The mock interviews were the best. The Staff is excellent! Very professional and always willing to go above and beyound. Thank you April and Mindy.
The SUCCESS program staff has been excellent. They and the program were very instrumental in helping me stay focused, positive, and motivated during my job search.
What a gem of an agency in Columbus, Ohio! They help those most in need, people who don't know where to turn when they are in a vulnerable state. Not only that, but the quality of service and personal care is what you would find from private assistance costing THOUSANDS of dollars more. The staff of Jewish Family Services is phenomenal and are expert at assisting those who lost their job, need parenting help, don't know what to do with their elderly parent, are facing domestic violence issues, need help managing their finances, are hungry, or just need someone to help them cope.
I used the Success Program the Summer of 2008 after loosing a job in Franklin County. I found the program to be as good, and, in many ways better than a private sector program. Their services helped me land a new job in a couple months. April Walters updated my resume and I got all of my job interviews based upon the outstanding resume. They taught me interviewing skills that helped me land the job and I even learned skills to help me adjust to my new job.
The SUCCESS Program through Jewish Family Services was an excellent job transition resource. The SUCCESS Program provided terrific guidance and input from Career Consultants with resume writing, job search, networking, cover letter and thank you letter writing strategies. The Career Consultants are top notch professionals that truly care about all the clients in the program and go above and beyond to assist clients. The weekly meetings are also extremely beneficial in meeting with other professionals in career transitions to share strategies and emotions that are common during job transition. I highly recommend both Jewish Family Services and the SUCCESS Program.
JFS is a huge asset to many people but in my case it was in my preperation and in my actual job search. There are so many top notch and dedicated professional at JFS. They all went out of there way to help me in my career search. I would certainly recommend JFS to anyone who has been laid off, outsourced, etc. who is in need of career services.
My experience at JFS has been a very positive experience. The staff are very carring and concerned with and about each person in the employment assistance program. The weekly meeting are very good because they are about many things beyond being out of work. The programs brings people in to share their gifts and talents. They also bring their stories on how they have been helped and how they want to give back to people that are going through a period of unemployment.
Very attentive and well trained staff. Constant follow ups and up dates are provided. Always prompt to answer any questions.
JFS Columbus 06/12/2009
Thank you for taking your time to give feedback. Your suggestion to continually look at expanding our relationships with businesses is greatly appreciated. Jennifer Marshall, Director, Career and Workforce Development
