I have seen them help Horses in need that I would have just most likely put down. I have been doing rescue for over 30 years. They are one of the best in Florida with helping horses. Like the pony Star, I would have never done everything they have done to save that pony even though she will never be a riding pony they have done everything to make her safe and comfortable and she has come much further than I ever thought she would!
Recently I took in a mare that was abused and neglected he was very thin and her hooves were very bad. I did everything I could think of to help her. I called everywhere trying to find help for her. I finaly called the local feed stores and everyone of them gave me Hope equines name. It was a blessing. They came out and they were very honest in their opinions on her condition. A few days later they came out to pick her up to go to the vets for xrays. She has not been handled or treated nicely for years. It took several hours to load her. They never lost their patients or pushed her to hard. The xrays were not good but they did not give up. This horse has a lot of fight in her and she's not going to give up and they won't give up on her. They have keep me informed on honey and her progress. They are awesome. I know if not for Hope she would never made it.
Go to their Facebook page and read the entries about Bella, katie, Honey, and Star. Hope Equine does not hesitate to take the most difficult cases and turns them into successes. These are cases that anyone else or other rescues would turn down as hopeless. Please go read for yourself.
Everyone there is awesome and very knowledgeable. If your interested in horses and its your first time interacting / taking care of one this is definately the place to go if they don't have a horse for you there they will help you find one. They will not steer you wrong! I love them and would do anything for them just give them a try.
I found Hope Rescue last year when I started looking for a horse. I had looked a several other rescues and was not happy with what I had found. Then I saw an ad for Hope and thought well let me see what they have to offer. From the moment I meet Dani, I was impressed. She started asking me questions about my knowledge of horses, my riding skills, my pets, my housing, anything and everything you can think of that would be important knowledge about where one of the horses could end up. After we spoke for awhile she told me that she didn't have any horses that would be a good match for me at that time. But she would let me know if anything was to change. I went back to the rescue a few more times, just to watch and learn more about the rescue and how they worked with the horses. The more time I spent there the more I knew this is where I wanted my horse to come from. They don't just let there horses go to anybody that wants one, they match the horses to the people that are right for them. They are very selective about where the horse is going and who it is going to. They require you to spend time with a horse, get to know it, and allow it to get to know you. They feel that you and the horse must bond that you must gain the horses trust. You are required to spend a certain amount of time with a horse. You feed it , grom it, work with it in the arena. You get to know it and it gets to know you. After a couple of months, I found my perfect horse at the rescue. I started working with him and learning from Dani, about caring for a horse. I have learned so much from this lady, she is truly amazing. The passion she has for these horses is undesribable. I have now had my horse for a few months, and have never been happier. Dani still checks in on us and I still call her everytime I have a question (which is alot). But she is always there with advise and direction. Dani Horton and Hope Rescue have changed my life in the most amazing way. I can't imagine life now without my horse and Dani there to cheer us on.
These p. eople by far go above and beyond to help the many need equines. They deserve everything you can give them. Wonderful place hope equine
When ever I have a question or problem with any of our horses here I know I can always count on Dani to help me out. Her and Wayne are really good people. My family and I support the rescue 100% on what they do. It takes a lot of courage and strength to do the things Dani and Wayne do for a lot of these animals they rescue from the abusers. We try to attend every event they hold to raise money and I always buy my tack and grooming supplies from them to help support the rescue. As people do donate their old items to them and I love to shop at Hope Equine Rescue... The compassion Dani has has is enormous and her dedication to what she believes in is extraordinary... I vote that Hope Equine Rescue is the best equine rescue in Polk County, Florida....
It is obvious to anyone that Dani and her team are passionate about the health and well being of horses. On multiple occasions, I have seen or heard about Hope Equine going above and beyond, just to do the right thing.
