Mission: Founded in 2013, Defensa is a Federal and Puerto Rico Accredited Non Profit Animal Rescue Organization. Our EIN is 660811657. We communicate daily via DefensaRincon@gmail.com – we do not have a shelter or take in animals except for horses. We help people to rescue street animals in Puerto Rico via our Open Rescue Program. Along with Rincon's Pintos R Us Trail Rides, Defensa runs Hope4Horses, A program for rescuing, rehabilitating, funding and placing in forever Sanctuary homes more horses in need in Puerto Rico.

Results: Hundreds of homeless animals are helped yearly by Defensa. We share our rescue and financial numbers monthly on www.DefensaRincon.org. We communicate daily via email and we use social media to help the animals

Target demographics: Rescue and Help unowned animals in Puerto Rico - Dogs, Cats & Horses mostly but we have helped cows and pigs too. If someone can use our programs we will not turn away an animal in need.

I have been going to PR for years on vacation.. For a few years , there were SO many dogs in the street.. It made me sad to go there. NOW.. Hardly any!! Know why? It's DAR.. They REALLY have made such a difference & not only need but deserve this ! Thank You,, Gloria Hufnagel

I have seen this organization fight for the homeless animals in this little town by consistently answering the calls when a very sick dog is found in the area. They use the any public medium to advertise their pets for adoption. This organization love what they do.

This organization, not only helps the stray animals in Puerto Rico, they try to find them forever homes in the states. They also do a free horse care class and share info of puppies that are looking for homes. Theyre doing a great job.
