When I was first approached to join the Board of Directors of Clinica Verde I did the proper due diligence, visited their website, read all the background materials, met some of the other board members and came away impressed, excited and challenged. When I actually visited the Clinica, I saw not only the facility itself, but the surrounding community it serves. Seeing all this first-hand, it surpassed my first -already high- impressions and expectations. This is only the beginning and I am thrilled and humbled to be in a position to help see this model not replicated but enhanced and extended.
Clinica Verde is a brilliant realization of so much hard work and an amazing dream.
We are so impressed with the entire operation, from the environmental planning to the skillful execution of bringing together locals and volunteers from around the globe. It's rare to find a non-profit with such a beautiful balance of organization and sustainable holistic approach to providing care; Clinica Verde is just that!
Our experience at Clinica Verde was moving, wonderful, emotional, and eye opening. We are truly blessed to have had the opportunity to experience the love, kindness, caring, and selflessness of everybody involved. This was our first trip and we were not sure what to expect. Clinica Verde exhibits something so special in such a deprived area. It demonstrates a sophisticated operation in a poor country with great need. Everybody involved was very proud to be a part of the facility. We departed with passion to return and great desire to be a part of Clinica Verde in the future. We are so humble. Clinic Verde has made quite an impact on our lives.
They are a wonderful organization! I learned a great deal about medicine in developing countries. The staff was incredibly thoughtful and organized; they were helpful with the volunteers and incredibly compassionate with the patients. The garden is an impressive endeavor as well! It seemed to bring a lot of people from the community together.
I recently visited Clinica Verde for the first time and was amazed to see firsthand how it has brought health and hope to Nicaragua. CV is not only providing basic healthcare, but also pre natal and post natal care, sexual reproduction and dietary / nutritional education in a clean, friendly, and positive environment. From the bio-intensive garden and architectural design which conserves resources to the compassionate and helpful staff, I was very impressed with CV's operations. Clinica Verde's annual report proves that this global, sustainable, and innovative prototype is making a big difference.
I recently toured Clinica Verde for the first time and it is a truly a new model of healthcare in which patient experience comes first. The facilities are impecable and the staff is very friendly. Clinica Verde has created a sense of belonging for those in the community and has met their health care needs improving their lives. It is a truly an inspiring non-profit organization that is also educating the future generations on health care and sexual education.
After visiting Clinica Verde and meeting the people involved with it's implementation, I am extremely impressed with how even though Clinica Verde is a new concept in medical outreach in developing countries, the Nicaraguan culture of ages is not forgotten. Everyone is welcomed and made to feel deserving of the care and service provided to them. The passion of Susan and the board is unparalleled. Keep up the good work!!
I recently returned from a visit to Clinica Verde where I met with staff members and joined the interim Medical Director on an outreach visit to the surrounding community. What struck me most about the visit was the uncompromising commitment to an environment where every patient feels valued and loved. Staff members ensure that every person who walks through their doors feels respected, listened to, and cared for.
Set in a rural area of Nicaragua, Clinica Verde serves patients with few resources. In addition to providing in-patient and outreach medical services, the clinic provides educational programs to meet some of the greatest health priorities in the region. These preventive health programs serve adolescents, mothers and babies and provide a holistic approach that serves as a model to other clinics.
Clinica Verde's work is exceptional and their staff is inspirational.
I just returned from my third visit to Nicaragua where I was able to tour, for a second time, the facilities at Clinica Verde in Boaco. Walking through the clinic, I was reminded of the non-profit's early promise to create a new model of healthcare in which patient experience is central. Indeed, this is what has been accomplished. Examination rooms feel less like "patient quarters" and more like well-lighted personal spaces, full of fresh air and sunlight that are clean without feeling antiseptic. It's easy to see how the clinic is able to draw thousands of first-time patients to its facilities for pre-natal care and wellness check-ups on an annual basis. Our First World healthcare system would be well served to consider the approach to patient care and patient experience being modeled by Clinica Verde in struggling Nicaragua. This is feel-good healthcare at its best by any economic measure.
Clinica Verde is an incredible clinic and non profit dedicated to improving the lives of everyone who walks through it's doors. Every person on the CV team functions with a heart for service and this is apparent in their patient care, outreach projects and initiatives. It truly is the only clinic in Boaco that offers prevention and a holistic environment. It is a world class operation serving those who too often have access to the world's least and last.
Clinica Verde is an organization that is truly dedicated to the mission of serving and bettering the lives of many. The success of the various projects it takes up and the growth it has seen since its inception could be viewed as a shocking thing. However, things such as solar panels, a biointensive garden, and quality health care for those who need it the most have always been part of what makes Clinica Verde so special. It is unique in its ability as an organization to challenge itself to do those things that push the boundaries of what might be normal or expected, and in this way is truly a mighty force for good.
I have never found it difficult to speak to the amazing work that Clinica Verde does or to the passion of those involved in the organization. This belief, care, and dedication is beyond evident in every aspect of all that they do. When I went down and visited the clinic for the first time this past spring, I was astonished not because it was everything that I knew it to be from the videos, stories, and data, but because it was all of that and much, much more. There is no doubt that Clinica Verde is a new, innovative model, but for more than just health care. It is an ideal that can transcend into government, agriculture, business, and all social services, where success and sustainability is inextricably connected to the well being of the people it supports. I was overwhelmed by hope when I first walked through the clinic doors. I can only imagine what will be achieved by this amazing non-profit in the coming years, and I am so excited to continue my involvement with Clinica Verde as it continues to be "a mighty force for good."
