I have been volunteering with BTS for 4 years. Break the Silence saved my family! This organization is like no others, it's family to everyone who wants to heal. I am finally able to share my story after all these years.Thank you!!
I was a young pregant teenager who not only was physically and emotionally abused by my bf I started to figure out it wasn't the pyshicall abuse that hurt the most it was him slowly killing who I was my self esteem my will to live and be happy and healthy this organization and the women who have gone threw the same some even worse have given the support and help for me to allow myself to slowly put myself back together and be able to breathe in the fresh air and know I'm ok I made it I'm surviving
Before I found BTS I felt a lone. I was in denial that I was ever in an abusive relationship. The daily posts helped me feel like I wasn't alone. Then I was able to travel from NH to California to attend the retreat. The retreat CHANGED my life. I found forgiveness. The missing piece. Since the retreat I also found my passion with BTS in helping survivors. Education is big. I didn't know the signs of domestic violence and I never thought it could happen to me! The retreat also helped me find the signs of an abusive friend. Break the Silence has helped put a positive spin in my life.
