I live in Massachusetts so I've never been to the Rescue. I am part of Theresa's internet village. Theresa herself is a miracle story being an incomplete quadriplegic. She has personal experience facing her future lying in a bed unable to move. She understands that there IS hope and determination and the ability to overcome the impossible. Theresa has used that same personal experience with the animals she has saved. She can look in their eyes and see their soul, do they have the spirit to fight or are they beyond that? For those still able and wanting to fight, this rescue is there to aid them in any and every manner needed. For those that tell her they are not able to fight anymore, Theresa, who may have only known this animal for a couple of hours, remains with and loving the horse while the vet comes out.... She holds their heads as they cross over the Rainbow Bridge to join the BHFER herd that have already crossed. There are so many stories that have such horrific beginnings, but after Theresa and her village work their magic, that animal has a sparkle in their eyes and hold their heads so proud and happy!! It is truly worthy of reading some of the miracles stories and becoming part of the BHFER village.
I was so impressed with this rescue I started donating to them in 2006...and continuing supporting them..they are so compassionate about every animal.but most of all the love they give to each and everyone one of them..what a wonderful loving rescue.
Thank you! We are very thankful for your support!
Visited Beauty's Haven in February. What a wonderful place for these horses and donkeys to be. They are one big happy family ❤️ All the animals receive the best care possible and lots of love. Too bad I don't live closer cause I would love to volunteer here.
Thank you for the kind words and the review!
I lead a 4H horse group. We volunteer at Beauty Haven. This is one of the best run rescues. Horses are all cared for like they are worth millions of dollars. They are showered with love. The horses want for nothing. The people are also very nice and welcoming.
Thank you Wanda! You and your 4H group make a difference and are very much appreciated!
I took in a rescue "Archer" from BHFER and gave him a forever home. I was very impressed with Teresa and the rescue when I visited the place initially and met Archer. This organization is a wonderful example of how rescues should be run. All the animals are happy and regaining their health. Teresa makes absolutely proper decision for each and every animal. She is a wonderful and caring individual and we are blessed to have her. Thank you so much for all your work Teresa.
Thank you so much for the kind words! And thank you for opening your heart and home to Archer. He landed in a wonderful home and is so blessed to have a human that cares, truly cares - he's been very blessed. I wish all of the horses looking for homes could find a human like you.
I have been following Beauty's Haven for quite some time. In November, I finally had the opportunity to visit Theresa and Bob and all the horses, donkeys and mules. That day was probably one of the best days ever. I saw first hand the dedication, care and love that goes into each and every animal in their care. From cleaning Donovan's leg, to medicating, clipping and bathing Mishka to keep him comfortable and checking Daisy's eye under her fly mask. They are all given the absolute best of care and every one of those beautiful creatures adores Theresa. They know how much she cares. She works until she can barely move and then works some more because the animals' needs ALWAYS come first. The volunteers work just as hard and are just as dedicated. It was an honor to be there and meet everyone (horses and humans). I personally feel this is one of the best rescues I have ever come across. I'm hoping my next visit can be soon to this little slice of heaven on earth.
Thank you for the kind words and for your support. Looking forward to your next visit!!
we have been volunteering at Beauty's Haven for several months. We are honored to be part of Bob and Theresa's organization. The first gentle giant we met was Matilda. She would follow us around and make us feel at home. I am tearful as I type this of hearing of her passing on. So sorry Theresa, Kylie and everyone else who cared and loved her. Sharon and Lew
We're very thankful for your support - you make a difference!
Such a wonderful and honest rescue. I live in California and became aware of BHER in Florida through a blog I read, several years ago. My husband I would donate throughout the years. About 2 years ago we happened to be in Florida and I realized we were a short drive away from the rescue. I contacted Theresa and asked if we could visit. Not a problem. Theresa was gracious and her volunteers very lovely. My husband and I were so impressed with the rescue. The pastures were clean, the horses well-loved, the property neat and tidy. We were so pleased to know our donations are going to a well-run and organized charity that are using ALL their donations for the animals. And we were so happy to see that for ourselves. I always recommend BHER to anyone who wants to support a loving horse charity or any charity for that matter. I hope they can continue do to this excellent work for many years to come. Blessings to BHER
Thank you so much for your kind words and for visiting!
My name is Kara Maki and I met Theresa in March of 2009 after a friend of mine in Florida told me about Beauty’s Haven. I will never forget my visit to the rescue, and how my life changed as a result of that visit, but I’ll let someone else tell you the rest of the story.
Hi everybody, my name is Joy, well Sammi’s Pride-N-Joy to be more exact. My Momma was Samantha, she was rescued from a man loading her onto a truck that was going to take her to a place I don’t even want to think about, and with me in her belly!!! My story almost ended there, but no siree, Theresa wasn’t having any of that and saved my Momma and brought her to Beauty’s Haven in January of 2009.
A few months later in early March someone came to the rescue and spent some time with Momma Sammi because she reminded her so much of her horse Pride that she had lost to colic a few months earlier (I don’t like that colic thing!). I could hear her talking to Momma Sam telling her to hurry up and have that baby (yep she was talking about me) while she was there or she would give her such a big hug she would squeeze me right out of there. But of course I didn’t make my appearance for another few weeks, after she left to go back home.
Shortly after I was born a request was made to adopt both me and My Momma!!! Could it be??
I got to stay with my Momma and we got our own human, our own home, our own family.
How cool is that!!!!!
None of this, no Momma Sammi, not me, not our new home, would have ever been possible if it hadn’t been for the love, determination, dedication and love (did I say that already?) of one woman –
Theresa and Beauty’s Haven Farm & Equine Rescue – We love you!!!!!
I’m the luckiest girl in the world, I have a birthday. Need I say more?!!
Thank you Kara for sharing their story - love to all of you! I am so happy that Sammi and Joy got a wonderful home together with you - it meant so much to me. You have a beautiful heart. I can never thank you enough!
I am a volunteer at this wonderful organization. The owner's, Bob and Theresa, have so much love and devotion in their hearts in making sure all needs are met. I absolutely commend them for their dedication and am proud to be a part of it.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for your support. Without volunteers we couldn't do what we do!
