We adopted Callie (originally named Inara) 4 years ago and it was an awesome experience. We saw Callie's photo on their website and emailed them asking if she would be at their upcoming event so we could meet her. They responded to us promptly and coordinated with her foster parents to make sure she would be there. They take great pains to ensure that each adoption is a good match and they do a follow-up call to make sure there are no problems. One of the foster parents even provided us with pictures taken shortly after her birth. I cannot compliment this organization enough. They provide a great service to the community.
Wonderful organization with very caring volunteers!
We adopted our families first kitten from here. I am amazed at the time that was given to provide us with quality kitten education, check in calls to offer help and their overall professional demeanor. Our kitten is well socialized, has great kitten manners and well adapted. Thanks for the work you all do!
We have adopted two beautiful black kitties from Alley cats and angels. We adopted our first about 2 years ago and our second about 3 months ago. They were so helpful both times! Because all of the cats live in foster care full time, they really know each cats personality and we're able to help us pick out the perfect cat for us and our lifestyle. We would definitely recommend working with Alley Cats and Angels to find the perfect kitty for your family!
We have adopted from Alley Cats and Angels . The experience was smooth and enjoyable. It is awesome to think that we walked out with the cat and with all the shots, rabies vaccine and microchip. We did not need to run to the vet the first 24h. The cat was social, is good with kids and did not spend the first 2 weeks hiding under the bed.
If I did not have already 2 other cats at home, we would definitely adopt a cat and recommend the association to anybody. They not only do adoption but they also have a very good TNR program.
We loved Alley Cats and Angels so much we decided to foster some cats.
I discovered Alley Cats and Angels one day and decided to be a foster family. I was so impressed by the organization and the cats that I decided to adopt from them later on. Their offer the best cats, no bad surprises as the cats are sociable, in good health. I would recommend Alley Cats and Angels to everybody
I adopted a wonderful kitten in March 2014. I had lost my 19 year old cat a few months before...all my cats have always been rescued...but not from an organization...one from a dumpster...one from an crazy man who wanted to drown an entire litter. AC&A is so amazing. They are meticulous with the fostering and medical care...when you adopt from them...they know these cats...ask them...they are so good at matching cat to family....my kitten..."Mouse" has been such a gift. She fits my home, her fur brother and makes our gamut complete. Know that when you adopt from AC&A that you are adopting from a place of love...you can't ask for anything more . They are truly angels....❤
This all-volunteer group does a fantastic job rescuing, fostering and adopting out both kittens and adult cats. They carefully match potential adopters with just the right cat or kitten for them. We adopted two semi-feral adult cats from them and they made sure that we were fully set up to acclimate the cats to our property. Tia spent as much time planning and helping Gibbs & McGee get settled with us as if they were going to be in our home.
I've worked with another of the group's volunteers for several years. I've seen firsthand how much of their own time these volunteers devote to the organization and the cats. I believe that Alley Cats and Angels are excellent stewards of all donations entrusted to them.
I adopted Wingtip from AC&A. She was very shy and caught a stress cold during the adoption which she passed to the cat I already owned. AC&A provided antibiotics free of charge and followed up with me during the transition. Both cats were fine after a few days. I thank Alley cats and Angels for my happy fur family.
Alley Cats and Angels works tirelessly to care for and provide forever homes for any homeless cats/kittens. Also, they set high standards and work hard to match cats and adopters, in an attempt to make it a lifetime commitment. I adopted my cat, Piper, from them, and it is a true love match! I will definitely be adopting my next cat from them! Thanks for all their hard work!
We adopted 2 sweet kitties from this organizaion. We took them into our vet just to get acquainted with her. She was so impressed that were fully vetted and needed nothing. They go the extra mile. They truly care about the animals!
While many rescues focus on taking in only the highly adoptable, I contacted AC&A's about orphaned kittens living in a storm drain, suffering with horribly diseased eyes and URI. When other non-profits told me to take them to the high-kill pound, AC&A accepted them into their foster program. They did what the others felt impossible-rehabbed and socialized when no one believed they could be helped. I wish there was an Alley Cats and Angels in every county across the U.S.. AC&A's is a most unique feline rescue.
Alley Cats and Angels is unique in, unlike most other rescues, they specialize in and educate the public about feral cats and Trap/Neuter/Return or Rescue (TNR). My county is over an hour away from AC&A. LIke most NC counties, we have no resources for the homeless "feral" cats that live, basically, anywhere there is a dumpster. One person living here had an extreme problem with over-population of kittens born in his colony and had to resort to taking them home or they'd die. With no local resources to spay or rehome, Alley Cats and Angels did the unthinkable-upon request, swooped in and removed over 20, most unsocialized and sickly. They vetted and socialized until all found proper homes. I can't imagine the man-hours and cost, but their massive effort literally saved the lives of these cats, and most importantly, saved this man from losing his home and relationship with his family.
Alley Cats & Angels cares so much about rescuing cats that it is contagious. Their rescue efforts are incredible, and it is great how they give each cat/kitten a full vet workup, spay/neuter AND microchip. They saved the kitten I adopted from a feral colony where the cats were being poisoned. They made sure that I knew that they were there for me if I had any questions about taking care of him, which made me feel so comfortable since I have never owned a cat before. If I ever decide to adopt another cat, this organization is my first choice.
I cannot say enough about the love, caring & support this wonderful organization provides. Just adopted my 3rd kitty from them & he is purrfect (sorry about that!). To see them at the doctor's office with crates of cats & kittens working tirelessly to give them all great medical care, and then see them every weekend trying to find homes for them is inspiring. This is an amazing nonprofit.
My daughter & her cat, Pumpkin moved out. I had the classic "empty nest". I searched all over the web to find a place to adopt. Found Alley Cats and Angels. Met them at an adoption event on July 4th weekend & came home with my 2 boys, Bo & Benny. Can't even begin to say how much fun, love & laughs they have added to my life.
The cats had eye problems & Alley Cats nursed them to health, neutered, & microchipped them. Thanks to Alley Cats, they are now doing great.
This caring group is helping our animals in ways that no one else is doing. I recommend them for the BEST nonprofit in our area & to everyone who wants to add a little furball into their heart.
This organization is absolutely incredible. I am a recent graduate living in a new area with a new job, and I wanted to adopt a kitten, but had concerns about my schedule and how well I would be able to care for the kitten. The volunteers/foster parents at AC&A were very responsive to my questions and guided me through the entire process. Jill even picked up a cat tower for me from Costco since I couldn't do it myself. I was able to adopt a beautiful Siamese mix this past August, and I can confidently say both of us are happy and coexisting together well, thanks to the amazing service from AC&A. If you want to adopt a rescue kitten/cat from an organization that knows its stuff and is as professional as it is humane, AC&A is the way to go!
Please educate yourself about cats in the wild and trap and release! :)
This organization does wonderful things in the communities with feral and non feral cats. They donate their time and efforts to insure these kitties have a safe place to live in. There is a lot of hard work that goes into everything they do. Come join them and you yourself will see the great things they do. The volunteers have the most compassionate feelings for all of these cats. They have helped me in so many ways with my feral cats and finding homes for other kitties. The communities would be lost with out the help that these wonderful people give.
I can never say enough about how good the volunteers are at Alley Cats and Angels. They helped me with a feral colony to get the kitties spayed and returned to me.i watched the ladies capture the kitties and they have the biggest hearts of any one I know. I really don't know what we would do with out them. My hat goes off to all of them to get our and do the job they do because they love and care about these kitties.
We continue to be impressed by the tireless efforts and wonderful impact this organization has on pet and ferrel cats. We got a couple of barn cats from Alley Cats and Angels. What a win win win. The cats are safer than they were roaming the wild, they have food, shelter and a great job.
The comment I saw about a sanctuary sounds like someone with an opinion based on an ideal fantasy with no experience in cat rescue or this organization. Here's a suggestion: Break your anonymity and spend some time volunteering with the folks that have been real helpful in saving cats and putting them together with the right new situations. Investigate firsthand and your contempt may be shifted to compassion.
This is a fantastic organization that knows what they are doing. All the volunteers are amazing and the kittens and cats only go to foster homes that care about them deary until they can be adopted. I am so glad that we have bought from them! Our cats are well behaved and they came fully vetted! I would STRONGLY suggest this organization to anyone looking for a cat or kitten to call their own!
Alley Cats & Angels is an amazing group. I adopted a cat from them about six months ago and she is a healthy, happy, lovable cat. I also work at one of the stores that this group partners with to show their cats to the public, so i have had tons of chances to see many of their cats. This group goes above and beyond. The members and volunteers of this group put their cats well being at the ultimate priority. They work with any potential adopters to make sure you are matched with the right cat for you. All of their cats are always super healthy and well cared for, and the members are always fast acting if any issue is ever to arise. Their cats are always up to date medically, they make sure to provide you with any extras or precautions needed, and they even send you home with a goodie bag of cat toys when you adopt a cat. They're always very thorough in making sure that not only the cat is the right fit for you, but that also you're the right fit for the cat. They make sure to inform potential adopters about their cats' preferences and tolerances. They're also very helpful and respond back to emails and questions in a timely manner. This organization cares about its cats. They check in with their new adopted families after the initial adoption and encourage the adopted family to keep in contact with any changes or happy pictures and stories because these cats are important to the group. The cats generally stay in happy, healthy foster homes, yet even when they are visiting in adoption centers at the certain stores this group works with, they are always treated as priorities and kept in a safe, clean environment. Everyone associated with this group has been nothing but kind, friendly, real world people who care about their cats. I truly believe in this organization and I'm so glad something this wonderful is going on in my home area that saves the lives of so many wonderful cats who simply need a second chance.
Dear person who wrote the bad review. You obviously have not experienced Alley Cats and Angels. Two of my furry kids are from AC&A - my most loving boy was feral. They share their love, their time, patience and expertise with every cat and make a decision for the greater good. Not all cats can survive couped up after living in the wild. Come on and wake up!!
I have taken in many stray and feral cats during my life.I have trapped them and had them spayed or neutered and given them a forever home. So many people are just heartless and cruel and call the local shelter to pick them up - If they are feral this almost always is a death sentence for them. Thank God for Alley Cats and Angels as well as other groups who will TNR these cats who are making it on their own anyway... Then they will not have anymore kittens. Of course it isn't as good as someone taking them in and taking care of them, but it is much better than taking them to a shelter and them being killed just because they are feral!!! Most people will not take a feral cat because of all the time and patience involved in taming one. Many of these groups have wonderful people who go around each and everyday to take food and water to these cat colonies - They are wonderful people helping so many cats that would other wise be killed at a shelter. So to who ever wrote this bad review, please educate yourself before you write a review that will hurt a wonderful nonprofit group that does so much to help feral kitties!!! I am very thankful for you guys!!!
