I am blessed to be both a employee as well as a client served with Access Partnership. I am a full time student studying to work in the healthcare field and a single mother. I work part time after school ehlping with the Community Access to Care Program, and am really enjoying it so far! I started with Candie, Heather and Carrie in the middle of July and they all have been wonderful bosses/coworkers/mentors to me, and have really opened my eyes to giving back to the community. And in fact, when I told Candie that I had not seen a dentist in over a decade she helped me get an appointment at the ODU School of Dental Hygiene so that I could get my teeth cleaned and x-rayed. During my first week with this organization I was already being included to attend meetings and a webinar given by the Virginia Department of Social Services. After attending the webinar, I used the information I learned and applied for assistance online (Common Help). It feels great to make a difference in someone's life and give back to the Hampton Roads Community. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!
Thank you all so much for being there when I needed you. I now have Medicare now that I turned 65 so I no longer need the Community Access to Care Program. But, I don't know if not for the Good Lord and Access Partnership, I don't know what I would have done about getting access to healthcare and my medications and the clinic helping me. Thank you all so very much!
Access Partnership has really been beneficial. It has been financially hard to pay out of pocket for medical expenses. Access Partnership helps the community, has a great website, and provides donated medical supplies and equipment to the community. The Community Access to Care Program is a great program and I am very grateful for it.
You all are a wonderful organization. Keep it up! I am able to pick up donated medical supplies from you such as nutrition supplements and give them to someone in need. I wish I had known about your organization when my father was still alive because when he was ailing he could have benefited from using some of the donated medical supplies and equipment.
This wheelchair will help move my Mom around the house and up so she does not get bed sores. The wheelchair will also help to get my Mom to her doctor's appointments.
This program is helping me meet my health care needs until I return to full-time employment that offers me medical benefits and/or health insurance.
Physicians for Peace partners with Access Partnership when we are offered donations of equipment and supplies that we cannot use to support our mission. Access Partnership connects patients in need with equipment and supplies in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Richmond and even Washington, DC. By working together not only are we able to connect people with equipment and supplies that they need to help with their medical needs but we also keep these supplies and equipment out of our landfills. Hopefully Access Partnership will continue to grow and help many more of our friends and neighbors in the future.
The Community Access to Care Program is an excellent program that I am very grateful for. I always get great service, and I am always confident of great health care. Thank you Thank you so much.
I merely wish to commend you for the endless hours of dedication towards helping people whom may not yet have even met you.
To do what you do consistently commands selflessness and a high degree of dedication from an era ago when people had and showed pride in a job really well done .
I have never met you or subscribed to any of the merchandise or services available. I am retired and often wonder what I could possibly do to help others in a significant way and thereby making a favorable difference in someone's life.
I'm sure you understand how even a little help at the most needed time can possibly inspire the recipient to think about whatever they could do to pay the blessing forward.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read my correspondence and please feel welcome to contact me perhaps should you come across any ideas which might allow me to better help others, even in various ways.
I came and picked up supplies from your office on Thursday June 28th. I just want to applaud your kind office staff and their general want to go the extra mile to help those in need. The supplies that I obtained were of great need and the excitement of those we were able to help were insurmountable. I am truly grateful that you have facilitated a place were we can give and/or receive supplies and equipment for those in need.
Thank you again for your giving spirit,
This is such a blessing. Thank you! I have Lupus and scarred lung tissue and these oxygen tanks and oxygen tubing and nasal cannulas will help me a lot. Thanks so much!
This program is a god send, if it was not for Access to Care. I would not have any type of healthcare. But Sentara ACC has always been there for me and my family. I have been in their clinic for 40 years. Thank you!
Access Partnership has been a blessing to me, even though I've only had to use the 24 hour nurse line only once. I was pleased with the manner on how they handled my situation. Heather and her staff are very abreast of the program. Thank you Access Partnership!
I work with an organization that assists adults that have physical and mental disabilities. When we have a fire drill or need to move the patients quickly, it can be difficult to move everyone in a timely manner because some of the patients move quite slow. So, we were in desperate need of wheelchairs for our patients. We only had a couple wheelchairs. So, I contacted Access Partnership and was able to come by and pick up a very nice donated bariatric wheelchair. I had the perfect patient in mind for that wheelchair. And, I asked Access Partnership to continue to keep us in mind for future donations. We greatly appreciate it.
I am a full time nursing student and only work part time in the hospital so I have no medical insurance. I am now experiencing medical issues that I can't afford. I am working with the ACC clinic to get the help that I greatly need. They have referred me to Access Partnership who has helped me in getting a CPAP machine that I can't afford.
Such a joy and help to me. Everyone is so nice and pleasant. Prior to getting the machine, they recommended I sleep different ways or change my diet. I am so excited. I do not know what to do. Access has helped me access this CPAP machine.
I was not sleeping and up all night. I really needed some rest. CPAP machine would really help me to sleep. It did wonders when I tried it out with a sleep study. I felt excellent and vibrant. I'm hoping it will do the same at home. I would rate it a 10 instead of a 5.
This is a much needed service that is servicing the community. Helping those that cannot aford the things that Access Partnership offers. They treat you repect and dignity. They respond in a timely matter as well.
Access Partnership is a wonderful nonprofit organization. Back in 2007, I graduated with my MBA and once I finished my degree the corporate world just did not feel like the right place. Sure, it had the appeal of a nice salary and luxuries! But, I wanted something even better. I wanted to make a big difference in the world so I decided to pursue a career instead in the nonprofit sector. So in 2008 when I was laid off from my job in the corporate world due to our poor economy, I decided to finally pursue that dream of working in the nonprofit world. Specifically, I wanted to work for an organization that helped people improve some quality of their life. So, I sent my resume over to various nonprofit organizations and it was routed to Access Partnership. Access Partnership assists the uninsured and those in poverty with gaining access to healthcare so that they do not have to go without. Now, this was the perfect job for me! I just wanted to join this great organization because everyday I would get the opportunity to make a difference whether I am telling a woman where she can go get a free screening mammogram or helping a gentleman who just had a stroke gain access to a walker, I know I am making a difference. And so I go home everyday after work and I do not drive the fancy car or live in the big house but I go home knowing I made a difference in the world. Thank you Access Partnership for allowing me to be part of this great organization!
Access partnership Incorporated has been an essential and useful resource in my work with finding resources for military families with special needs. They have been very helpful to me and the clients that I serve by creating a "one stop shopping" site for finding resources for very diverse needs.
I work for a mental health agency serving uninsured and underinsured individuals. Finding resources to meet their needs is often very challenging. The Access Partnership Inc. has been an important resource for me to help my clients get the medical care and health education that they otherwise may not have been able to get. I truly appreciate the email updates that keep me aware of the available resources for my clients and others living in Hampton Roads.
Access Partners has been a vital partner for the Financial Stability Coalition of South Hampton Roads by pointing volunteer financial mentors to health related resources as they are working with families in financial stress.
Health related expenses often can create financial instability for families and the resources offered through Access Partners can help us to redirect funds to help maintain shelter, transportation, food and child care for families in financial need.
Access Partners has helped to orient our volunteer Financial Mentors for several years to health related resources and provided them ongoing notification of health services in the community.
Finding resources to help the people in the services and ministries I have been a volunteer and nurse with has been a very valuable benefit of becoming an Access Partnership, Inc. member.
First I was a volunteer nurse and clinical coordinator for a local free clinic which serves a large number of uninsured patients who therefore are in need of many forms of help provided at no or low cost to them as well as educational resources for detection, prevention and management of diseases. I became aware of the wealth of resources available in the community when I attended the annual one day Access Partnership Conference with the Director of the clinic and have been on the e-mailing list for the monthly newsletter containing current postings of local and regional offerings and events since then.
Currently I am a Parish Nurse of 10 years with a very active health ministry at my church in Hampton, Virginia and use postings from the monthly/bi-weekly news letter on my bulletin board in front of my small Health Ministries office at the church. I am told that members of my church family have participated in some listed offerings, such as diabetic education seminars, parents of teens seminars and advanced directives seminars. I post free monthly Clinical Servces Van locations and times and pray that some are taking advantage of these.
Without the information provided so concisely by Access Partnership and our Faith Community Ministries Coordinator I am sure we would miss knowing about this wealth of resources.
I have also felt very comfortable in e-mailing Candice Driscoll at AP, Inc. to find out about specific resources and I thank her for being available and willing to respond. What a valuable and needed service she and the agency serve. Thank you to all who participate in pooling the infomation on resources all over Hampton Roads/ Tidewater Virginia Area and making them available to us.
