YWCA/Becky's House of San Diego assists over 5000 familes, women and children escape homelessness and domestic violence each year . 1 out of every four women experience domestic violence in their lifetime and the San Diego County Sherrifs Department had over 16,000 calls last year in response to domestic violence. Staggering, considering they only service one third of our population. It's also the #1 cause of injuries to police officers in the field.
The staff is committed to each and every client and our Becky's House program is one of the most successful DV programs in the country, in addition to the outstanding work with homelss women and homeless families. Our clients go through extended programs, designed to help them start new and productive lives. Our clients have described YWCA as the only place they truly felt "loved" and we're transforming lives together, each and every day.
