Causes: Human Services, Young Mens or Womens Associations
Mission: The young women's christian association of darien/norwalk, inc. Is an affiliate of ywca usa. It is a not-for-profit corporation organized for the purpose of empowering women and the support of their families, social service initiatives, children and youth programs, leadership development, and community enrichment programs for women and families of the darien/norwalk, connecticut area. During the past year, more than 5,000 women, men, and children had access to, and benefited from ywca programs.
Programs: Adult, youth, group membership programs: focus is on providing programs for women and families including children's enrichment programs, education, support and networking for women. Populations specifically served include children, working and stay-at-home mothers, women without children. Over 750 served.
counseling and community: parent education, creating healthy communities, promoting social justice. Approximately 5,000 served.
fitness programs: approximately 490 passes for individual classes were used last year. Donated services of $3,240 have also been contributed to the fitness program.
