Youth Volunteer Corps has provided service learnings and volunteer opportunities for over 35 years to youth throughout the United States and Canada and the impact this has made in many communities is immeasurable. The communities get much needed support for their many non profits while the youth learn about their community and that they can make a difference in so many ways. If more communities would adopt this program, this world would be a much better place.

The impact that YVCHR has on the local community is immeasurable! Getting teens involved in their community through volunteering and experiencing (and helping to meet) others' needs helps to reconnect them in a way that is so important in today's bustling world. I love seeing the kids really get into their roles at events! I think a lot of times they have even more fun than they expected!

There's no better testimonial to the importance and impact of YVC than the fact that thousands of adults throughout the country look back at their YVC years with an enormous amount of reverence and affection. It taught them important lessons about life, gave them a tremendous amount of perspective, and instilled in them a sense of service that they carry every day as adults. YVC started doing that 35 years ago, is still doing that today, and will be doing that for 35 more ... and beyond.

My three sons have all been involved with Youth Volunteer Corps via the United Way of Anderson County (SC) since 2014 or so. I began volunteering as a mom/team leader in 2015. Who knew I would one day be the Program Director for the Anderson Affiliate!? YVC's commitment to service-learning has impacted my sons through the most impressionable years of their lives and they know it is "not all about them!"
I am grateful for the impact so many YVC leaders have had on my sons through the years.
It is my hope that I am impacting lives as I serve the young people in my community!

My middle daughter came home from her first volunteer experience with YVC completely ignited. She not only got to serve with an important community agency helping the hungry, she got to do it on a team with other youth, giving her the opportunity to make new friends. YVC also encourages youth leadership, something I think is unique to this program. The other thing I appreciate about YVC is the service-learning component. My daughter not only served an agency that helped the hungry, she learned about food deserts, hunger, and poverty in her own community. All YVC projects include this so that youth know why their work is important. It is just one more thing that makes the experience so meaningful. My middle daughter has since aged out of YVC, but has continued to serve her community. I thank YVC for making the volunteer experience so positive that she wanted to continue. My younger daughter is now an avid YVC attendee, and has gained so many new skills, friends, and experiences.

We've gotten to see from the inside out what an incredible organization YVC is in our community! The longevity of work they do, the way they're not only making a difference in projects now but shaping students to be volunteer-minded, is part of what is making cities around our country–and world!–healthy and strong. We love the mission and are thankful to be apart of what they're doing!

YVC is a fantastic organization to build compassion, awareness, and work ethic in today's young people, tomorrow's leaders. The best thing about YVC is that all volunteer projects are supplemented with a well-designed service lesson to extend the learning from the hands-on work of the project. YVC offers a pretty wide range of volunteer opportunities as well so there's usually something for everyone.

Youth volunteer Corps has reignited the youth potential through creating opportunities for youths to think of ways to contribute to the community and do amazing projects. Youth can now think of an idea and are supported to give it life.
In Uganda, many youths fear sciences with a perception that they are difficult, however, through the conducted STEM projects they have come to appreciate the need for STEM and reconsidering taking a career path.

Identifying and solving community needs, while having a great time doing it, that's the very definition of Youth Volunteer Corps. I learned at an early age that it is vitally important for all of us to give back, and YVC enables that for youth ages 11-18, while also teaching work and life skills. The STEM projects may even set a new career course for many participants. It's a great way for youth to meet new people, improve their community, learn new skills, and have a blast!

I love to volunteer with YVC because I get to be with my friends and do super projects. My favorites are when we go to the horse barn, do water safety and play in the water, and cooking! This summer I get to be a Jr. Counselor and look forward to being a leader and practicing my skills.

Youth Volunteer Corps is unique because youth volunteer in teams with other youth, and they develop empathy for others as they not only serve their community but learn about those who they're serving. My kids loved volunteering with YVC and brought their friends because they knew they'd love it too. They have learned about many different issues affecting our community, and through that, they've developed a heart for helping others! Thank you, YVC!

"I love volunteering because I like knowing I’m doing something that helps others. I also think it’s cool how I’m getting to know people that I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to meet otherwise."

Youth Volunteer Corps has changed the lives of many youths across the nation. With over 30 affiliates in the US and Canada, YVC engages youth in team-based service experiences that build life and work skills while inspiring youth to live a lifetime ethic of service! It has been wonderful to see youth in our community helping those less fortunate and striving to make a difference!
