Mission: Youth Stamp Collectors, founded in 1993, grew out of the need for youth to find an educational hobby, and to provide educators an additional way of teaching geography, history and culture, and improving English, reading and writing skills. Stamp collecting is a fun hobby enjoyed by all people of all races, ages and incomes. It is educational in that youth discover topics on stamps that they are studying in school. Youth use stamps as examples in their research papers or may research the country or topic a particular stamp depicts. They learn the countries of the world by identifying what country a stamp is from and then finding it on a world map. Educators use stamps as a teaching tool, which makes learning fun and colorful!
