The FYSB has helped me and my family in so many ways. The people are caring and nice and always smiling and cheerful. I learned about them from my friend who also used them because of her rambunxious son. I have no complaints only good things to say! :)

My history with the Family & Youth Service Bureau of Porter County dates back to 1982, a time when more state funded programs were available and I was an at-risk youth. I was in their residential care program for several months. I learned many behavioral and stress-coping skills that proved to be quite helpful. At the time (at age 12) I did not realize the full benefits I received from being in the program, but as an adult (now 48) I not only apply what I learned to myself, but I share the information with others (parents and teenagers) that can benefit from it.
As the president of my own multi-divisional company, I can tell you without reservation that had it not been for the caring staff and the effective methods applied, there's simply no way I would be where I am today.
This organization is also the charity I support through the smile.amazon.com program and as I do a lot of purchasing from the site, I feel good knowing that I'm able to give back at least a little for all that I benefited.
It's such a shame that the funding that was once plentiful to support this and other organizations like this is so scarce now. When we think of society as it was in the 1980 compared to how it is today, organizations like this are needed now more than ever. I will always be willing to help this organization in any way I can. Sharing my story isn't an issue of shame whatsoever. I'm quite open about who I was becoming and how I survived and excelled in life. This organization is an excellent resource!

Family & Youth Service Bureau has been serving the at-risk youth and families of Porter County, Indiana for nearly 50 years. This agency positively impacts the lives of over 4,000 people each and every year. My relationship with FYSB started 20+ years ago, and I have personally witnessed the compassion and helpful assistance for those in need, specifically those most vulnerable - children.
