I had a summer job through YRDC when I was 16. I was called to work at the United Way to assist with their annual fundraising campaign. Although it was only a 2 month temporary job, I learned how to work with others and help my community, as well as gain a foundation for work experience. This program also kept me busy and off the street getting into trouble during the summer. I appreciated this program and I know that it helped many a youth in the community.
