I've been visiting the Youth ChalleNGe Academy sites in Georgia since around 2005. The stellar work the YCA accomplishes on these National Guard campuses, has enhanced the lives of so many at-risk youth over decades of commitment.
And it couldn't have been done without the opportunities provided by the YCA Foundation, which supports the work of the academies. First, their engagement that brings civic leaders and elected officials to the campus. These visitors learn what a difference the program makes in turning youths' lives around and creating taxpaying, productive citizens instead of inmates.
Then, when these young people are getting tough love, it's sometimes difficult for them to see the "love" within the tough discipline. The YCA Foundation helps them see the light at the end of the tunnel, through mentorship, friendship, scholarship and OPPORTUNITY!
I just can't say enough about these great volunteers and their dedication.
