Mission: The mission of the ywca is to foster the economic self-sufficiency, emotional and physical health of women and girls in a world of peace, racial justice, dignity, freedom and equality for all.
Programs: Programs for children: the ywca provides licensed childcare programs with the capacity to care for up to 120 infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten children each week. The childcare services provided are utilized primarily by low to moderate income families. These services are vital to the well-being of the children whose parents must work in order to care for their families. The nature and quality of the services provided insures that the children will be prepared for transition to kindergarten. Consistent training and education is provided to the teaching staff in order to maintain the highest standards of care and nurturing for the children.
family programs: the ywca's cradle closet assisted over 500 mothers and children (newborn to 5 years of age) throughout the year by providing maternity clothing, newborn clothing, diapers, wipes and other essential baby items. During the holidays, the adopt a family program provided thanksgiving food baskets to over 75 families and holiday baskets containing christmas gifts, decorations and other items to over 80 families ranging from 4-8 per family. The ywca staff partnered with other local non-profits, government agencies and churches to provide its families the most comprehensive services possible.
